Dickinson is actually an okay 5A team. PNG vs. TC will be close, but I look for TC to win by 3.

Kudos to WO-S for putting up a great effort! I was one who thought they would be overwhelmed, but they were not which does not bode well for the rest of the 3A football teams.
Thankfully, even on a night when FW played terribly, they were able to win. -
No, Skipper, that's not what he said. He actually said that he's not worried about a letdown from his team, and said nothing about WO-S being a "true test." Nice try! ;D

Wow! In reading the back and forth between you two, I am torn between feeling like a proud parent ;D and saying it has gotten childish and tedious. And that's saying a lot. ;)

Let me say there are clearly some 40 plus year old former WO-S players who were the real deal back in the 80s.
Let me also say -- and I suspect almost everyone else in SETX will smile when they read this (but not admit it) -- that it's time to stop living on those old memories and dreams like they mean something on Friday, or this year, or next year.
As folks from Dayton and Central have learned before you (and those teams are light years better than WO-S), that light you see coming at you is the REAL Mustangs, and the don't stop for road kill. ;D
p.s. Would some of you SETX folks give me some bad karma votes. I am almost at 200 now!! ;D -
GassyHead, please check with your fellow SETX friends. I may be annoying as all get out, but my evaluation of your SETX teams, and how they will fare against FW, has been spot on for many years now! In fact, with one exception -- Nederland baseball two years ago -- I have correctly predicted the winning team and the point spread in EVERY game that I have weighed in on. So, when I say FW by 30 you can take it to the bank.

Seriously, you WO-S folks need to ask some of your fellow SETX fans if there is any comparison between FW and Kirbyville, Silsbee and Jasper.
This is gonna be fun -- you remind of some of my favorite Dayton and Central fans from years past. You have no idea what's coming! -

We are talking about the same WO-S team that got punked last week in a scrimmage against Dayton, right? So they came back and beat up on a Nederland team that is down for a time. Get ready Gassy and friends because that sound you hear is the REAL Mustangs from Friendswood getting ready to have roll over your team. FW by 30.

After reading about that woeful scrimmage performance by WO-S against Dayton, I really do think this will be a blow out.
I just do not see how WO-S plans to hang in there. Friendswood's offense is way too explosive and way too powerful for the WO-S defense to keep their team in the game. I'll stick with my 20 point prediction, but I will take the over! -
Very nice. It is an actual concrete stadium with a filed in a bowl below ground level.

Friendswood is building new, larger, stands on both sides of Henry Winston Stadium, but the home side stands now will not be done in time -- apparently the new steel girdirs were late in arriving.
Plus, we don't really want WO-S fans in our town. ;D -
Van Meter is not prone to exaggerations, so that makes me think he is the real deal. Plus, he started for Pearland (albeit on the offensive line) last year, and they are a quality team.

No offense intended (although I am certain it will be taken), but you are kind of making my point. You think of teams like Silsbee, Kirbyville and Jasper when someone mentions that Friendswood is a big, fast team. Ask your friends from Dayton -- which has been the most accomplished SETX team over the last 5 years if not longer -- whether those types of teams are comparable to what the typical Friendswood teams brings to the field.

With the caveat that WO-S is one of the few SETX teams I have not seen play in person in he last few years (so I have to go with what I read about them), I do not see them being able to hang with Friendswood. The lines on both sides of the ball for Friendswood look to be big, fast and strong, and there is a lot a talent and speed at the skill positions. And, with a year under his belt, Maetzold will be much more consistently good this year.
My prediction is that Friendswood will win by 20 plus points. -
Congrats on the new facility. Indoor facilities are a must for year round play and developing players. Plus, it is fun. But, if you have the typical turf/carpet, expect an increase in knee injuries -- especially among the girls. Nothing to do about it.

Hmmm, well first of all, Brenham did not even finish 2nd, and second of all, Friendswood outscored Brenham in both the athletic stuff and the academic stuff.
