1. You know me basebow...I hated to mess up bobcats good story with facts, but, it is what it is
2.

How did that work out for you last year?
Be careful now ! If I remember correctly Nederland had some very favorable conditions in last years contest . Vidors district rushing leader went out in the second play of the game . Montana Quirante ( MVP)was rushed back from Arizona from a relatives funeral and barely made it there by game time (very tired) ! Quirante went out in the second half of that game also. Nederland also had home field advantage . Now with all that being said Neederland still had to come back and eek out the victory on a GO route caught out of bounds . ( Just like their victory over WOS )
Geez, excuses, excuses...Go routes caught out of bounds???  what are you talking about?? and as for missing players, Nederland had a few as well including 2 all-district performers on defense...bottom line, Nederland started off with 2 uncharacteristic turnovers (part of the game) and spotted Vidor 10 points and still managed to win. So apparently, bobcat, you don't remember correctly.
3.

And yet, you still can't seem to have much success against us.  ;)
Academically? Twelve consecutive district titles says it all. Athletically? I believe we have overall winning records against Nederland in every sport except boys' and girls' basketball, track and possibly boys' soccer (it'd be very close either way). I know we have winning records in football, volleyball and softball and our boys' golf team (which made it to state this year) has been unmatched for several seasons. Baseball is admittedly a question mark after the last few seasons but I believe the record does favor PN-G overall. In the performing arts? Our choir has nine consecutive "Outstanding" ratings at the state competition in San Antonio to its name and our band has been to the state marching competiton numerous times while Nederland's has yet to go once. And I know you're not talking about fan bases. ;)
Oh bama kid, you knew that I wasn't talking about what happened back in the day when Nederland's schools were actually still new...I was referring to recent history (but you know that already)...until PNG beat Nederland in baseball this year (admitedly, PNG was better), Nederland had beaten them two consectutive years in football, two years of sweeps in basketball and a previous year sweep in baseball to go along with back to back district track titles...until PNG won district in baseball this season, Nederland was reigning district champs in football, basketball, track, and baseball.
4. And yet, you still can't seem to have much success against us.  ;)
5. Sully, you couldn't have said it any better...I am an old dude now, but if you ask most of the guys I went to Jr. High with whay coach influenced them the most, Jack Lynch's name almost always comes up...I was fortunate enough to have him coach both me and my son and we both feel the same way...great coach, even better man who definitely always had the kids best interests at heart while still being an incredible, intense competitor, Happy retirement, Coach Lynch...you deserve it!!!
6.
Love how a certain QB from this area made the top 50 but another QB with better stats and went further in the playoffs didn't even make the top 200. Politics much??  ::)
Has nothing to do with politics and Collins is not listed as a QB prospect, but as an athlete, which I think is justified
7. So your saying the other kid hasn't played any games at QB?  I don have a dog in the fight but counting games a kid played at 9 as experience is a bit of a stretch to say the least
8. A sophomore with over 50 games experience? Please explain?
9. I think you missed a thread to post this on
10. I was curious about this so I looked the playoff scores up from the last 10 years to see how the Golden Triangle 4A District has fared against the bunch west of the Trinity....the overall count in first round playoff games is a surprising 25-9 in favor of the Triangle teams...keep in mind that Dayton was in our district in 2006-07 and contributed wins to that total...The triangle teams have not had a losing record in this "series" since 2002 when they were 1-2
11. Well, I will say this, the pre-season District Champ trash talking champs are SC for sure and that's saying something considering BH is in this district
12.
Strikeouts are unproductive outs.
That can be true, but there are certainly other outs that i would consider totally unproductive as well.
13.
Nah, we all know he's full of it.
no doubt  ;) Back on topic, for anyone who was actually at last Friday's practice, how did the Dogs look?  I believe the focus was on the offensive side of the ball so I am curious to get people's opinions on how they did.
14. Why is 5a Memorial so interested in playing 4a schools?
15. There is only one transfer and conflict within the team is NOT something I am concerned about with this bunch...this group is still mad about losing to Dawson last season and wants bigger and better things for this upcoming season
16.
Let's get Real!! Aug. 30th Nederland Day!! Crowned 20-4A CHAMPS!! 10-0, they are now waiting on the delivery of their State Championship Trophy!! Aug. 31st thru end of season!! 2. LCM-----------0-10 3. Lumberton-----0-10 4. Ozen----------0-10 5. Livingston-----0-10 6. Central--------0-10 7. PNG-----------0-10 8. Vidor----------0-10 Looks like everyone forfeit their season, what a shame!!! :o :o ;D ;D
While I am sure that you are having fun stirring the pot, trocket, no one at Nederland is even close to believing that it will be that easy...quite the contrary...Nederland will have the target on their back because they won last year and have quite a bit returning, but that does not equal automatic district champs...the good thing is that the boys know that and that is really all that matters...as always, I am sure it will be an interesting race for sure
17.

Lamar has been small time for more than a decade. What is so exciting about Lamar since leaving the Sunbelt? yet you guys want more of this small time.
At the outset, I will say that I am probably in severe minority...perhaps one of the only ones. But here goes I could give a rats rear end on whether Lamar ever achieves FBS status and I certainly don't want them in it anytime soon.  What I want out of my college alma mater is a winning program.  I don't care if it is in FCS.  Heck, I don't care if it is Division III.  What I want out of the Lamar University football program is that when I attend a home game that the team I am rooting for has, at least, an even money shot of winning the game.  And after the 1st year of conference play, I don't see Lamar at that point even in the small time Southland Conference.  I see it as being of NO USE to Lamar University to jump into an FBS conference just for the freaking sake of saying it is in an FBS conference.  I can see it now, "Yeah, we got the crap kicked out of us.  But hey because we are in the FBS, our tailkicking will make it on the crawl on Sportscenter!!!" Advocating a push into FBS when Lamar has not yet shown it can even be competitive in FCS to me is just plain flat out stupid.
a voice of reason in a sea of insanity....
I really cannot argue this point...shouldn't Lamar prove that it can compete at it's current level before moving on to bigger and better things?  We are only coming into the 3rd year of the program being back...IMO, to expect to move to an FBS program before the FCS program has been successful is a BIG stretch
18. Nederland will be the odds on favorite because they won it last year and have a lot of players back...that far from guarantees my Dogs anything and I expect the district to be tough as always...Vidor will be good again, Ozen seems to be headed in the right direction and will have some talented backs and receivers returning...I expect Central to be better and png will be in the mix as well...even the "so called" expected lwoer tier teams will be dangerous as LCM has Sezar and Livingston, although they lose a ton, will still have Collins, who is a true playmaker...winning district and having a successful year depends on a lot of factors and talent is certainly one of them and Nederland has that...football is a funny game and you have to have breaks go your way sometimes and as we all know, teams need to stay relatively healthy to have long term success. Best of luck to the Dogs next season...it has the potential to be a special season, but everything must fall in place as I mentioned above.
19. Terrible news...special prayers to the family and friends of this young man
20. Congrats to him...what does he run?
21. Ali would frustrate Tyson to no end and then iron mike would unravel....Tyson was a tremendous puncher, but the competing heavyweights in his era were less than stellar
22. Nederland looked steady last night...good pitching from Brown and Sanderson who combined for 10 K's...Raines chipped in offensively with two hits...next up, Ozen Friday night.
23. Real nice win for Nederland after falling behind early 3-0...Brett settled in and kept Livingston from adding on and the Dogs just kept scratching...Kanton Richard was huge with 3 hits including a big 2 run double to provide the cushion....Barrow, Wood, and Shaw also had multiple hits...Stampley very sharp in relief and closing out...Livingston has a good club and swung the bats well
24. I will second Jack Lynch...great coach who really cares about his kids
