Nt disputing her talent, but why would you include someone who is injured and out for the year?
Because i honestly believe that she is one of the best players in the area.. She is only a junior, and unfortunately will more than likely miss alot of this year due to an ACL injury last year, but she still has one more year... and i believe without a doubt that she can go on to play college soccer... Very good athlete...
2. 2A soccer does not exist.. Only 4A and 5A.. 3A teams are allowed to play up in 4A districts, but you are not allowed to play 2 levels up (2A to 4A).. I believe Kountze used to have a soccer team, but was forced to drop it when they dropped from 3A to 2A...
3. Found this on Wikipedia -----  Independence High School, Charlotte, North Carolina ---

Most notably, the Independence varsity football team, coached by Tom Knotts, won 109 straight games and won seven straight North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) State Championships (4-AA). As of November 24, 2006, the Big I held the second longest winning streak in high school prep football, and also held the most consecutive wins in US public high school football history
4. There was one at one point talking about all the college players..

I know Christian Michaels of WB has been doing pretty well for himself at aTm
Tremain Thomas of EC has been doing good things at Arkansas (i believe)
Cody Green of Dayton has been getting some action at Nebraska (i believe)
Earl Thomas and Beasly from WOS are doing great at UT... Thomas especially has been playing very well...
Sturrock from HJ has been playing DE at UTEP for the past couple of season...

Just a few that come to mind..
5. These rulings are from the UIL rulebook

ARTICLE 2. A legal substitute may replace a player or fill a player vacancy
provided none of the following restrictions is violated:

c. An incoming legal substitute must enter the field of play directly from his
team area, and a substitute, player or departing player must depart at the
sideline nearest his team area and proceed to his team area. A departing
player must immediately leave the field of play, including the end zones. A
departing player who leaves the huddle or his position within three seconds,
after a substitute becomes a player, is considered to have left immediately.
Team A may not break its huddle with 12 or more players (A.R. 3-5-2-II-
VIII, A.R. 9-1-5-V-VII and A.R. 9-2-2-IV) (dead-ball foul) [S7 and S22].

So according to this, i think that PNG has every right to be upset with the no call...because if i am reading this right then regardless of huddle or no huddle you may not have more than 11 on the field unless they are in the process of switching which they must leave within 3 seconds of being replaced.

Two Players in Motion

4. One player may be in motion, but not in motion toward his opponent’s
goal line. A lineman may not be in motion at the snap. Other players
must be stationary in their positions without movement of the feet,
body, head or arms [S20] (A.R. 7-1-3-I, III and XII-XIV).

ARTICLE 4. a. If a snap is preceded by a huddle or shift, all players of the
offensive team must come to an absolute stop and remain stationary in their
positions, without movement of the feet, body, head or arms, for at least one
full second before the ball is snapped (A.R. 7-1-4-I) [S20].
b. It is not intended that Rule 7-1-4-a should prohibit smooth, rhythmical
shifts if properly executed. A smooth cadence shift or unhurried motion
is not an infraction. However, it is the responsibility of an offensive
player who moves before the snap to do so in a manner that in no way
simulates the beginning of a play. After the ball is ready for play and
all players are in scrimmage formation, no offensive player shall make
a quick, jerky movement before the snap, including but not limited to
(A.R. 7-1-4-II-IV):
1. A lineman moving his foot, shoulder, arm, body or head in a quick,
jerky motion in any direction [S19].
2. The snapper shifting or moving the ball or moving his thumb or
fingers, flexing his elbows, jerking his head, or dipping his shoulders
or buttocks [S19].
3. The quarterback “chucking’’ his hands at the snapper, flexing his
elbows under the snapper, jerking his head or dropping his shoulders
quickly just before the snap [S19].
4. A player, before the snap, simulating receiving the ball by “chucking’’
his hands toward the snapper or quarterback or making any quick,
jerky movement that simulates the beginning of a play [S19].

I was not there so i did not see the play, but as long as both players came set before the snap of the ball, there is nothing wrong with it..

During the PN-G & Central game PN-G had two players in motion at the same time and was allowed to call time out to avoid a penalty (Central coaches & fans was noy happy), so ---- happens.
putting two players in motion is not illegal... you can put 5 players in motion as long as everyone comes set for 1 second before the ball is snapped
7. I agree.. great game on both sides.. officiated well (a few calls missed here and there), but that is to be expected, nothing significant enough to change the outcome of the game.. can't get em all right, but the officials last night did pretty dang good... Kountze is very good team and i look for them to go to state and possibly win it all this year.. HJ played ok last night, gotta get better at the free throw line and 3 pointers... Ricossa, Turner, Gustafson all had great games

Dykeman plays the forward position which receives the most stat notoriety but understates the other equally valuable parts of a team. She has a lot of talented teammates. Ideally, there would be other recognizable statistics to account for the great defensive plays by defenders such as Madeline Horning and Teilor Long and midfield decisions by Yasmine Afshar and Zuri Prince. These contributions and those of others all result in placing the ball to a forward in scoring position and just as importantly, preventing the other team from scoring.
Agreed, many players do not always recieve the regocnition they deserve due to the fact that they may not be in a position to score goals.. Every player on the field has a job to due, and it takes every player doing that job for the team to win.. Usually the forwards and goalkeepers recieve alot of the credit because their stats show up (goals, assists, saves, shutouts).. but without the help of the midfield forwards usually wont score very much.. and without the help of a solid defense a goalkeeper can't make as many saves and shutouts..
9. Congrats.. AAW do you have seperate passing/rushing total leaders for the area?

These are all QBs and a QB has the opportunity to gain passing and rushing yards.. i'd like to see who did the best in each category..

Not taking anything away from these guys.. that is a great accomplishment..

I know Menard (BC) and Huckaby (OF) had over a thousand yards rushing each..
I believe Ford (Kirbyville) was up there as well

I believe that Silsbee will be double digit but the first half will be hard to predict. HJ is playing for a playoff spot and Silsbee is already secured for a playoff spot but they want to go undefeated so they will try to play tough to...I'm hoping the Tigers don't go to hard and come out of the game injury free.

Silsbee 35
HJ 7
HJ is not playing for a playoff spot......for that to happen they would have to beat Silsbee and hope for a miracle victoryout of HF over BC.  They are NOT playing for a playoff spot.  Silsbee is however playing for the district championship.  GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silsbee has already clinched a district championship.. even if they lose Friday, WOS would tie them, but Silsbee takes the head to head tie breaker...

I thought, for the most part, the sportsmanship was pretty good from HJ as well. Except after their first TD when the lineman (I think it was #62) walked towards our stands pointing at the scoreboard. And in the second half, when one of the HJ DB's put a good lick on our RB and he jumped up walking toward our side line beating his chest. Other than that, I saw some patting on the heads and such so overall I was pleased with HJ's sportsmanship too...  ;D
I'd say the same exact thing about WOS for the most part. Helped players up, pats on the back/head, handshakes.. very respectable game.. Every team has those one or two guys that do something to make everyone else look bad.. like the WOS player who threw his helmet across the field.. but all in all great game between both teams.

stangs roll big in this one! 50 to 14
No way!!! HJ is better than what they been in a while. HJ......play them like you played Kirbyville and anything can happen.
Thanks for the support.
HJ will make this game more interesting than everyone is expecting. They have a very good defense and the offense will step up in this game.
HJ is giving up 352 yds per game how is that a good defense ????  Only HF is giving up more in the district ??
is that district or overall?
352 per game overall
290 per game in district

both rank 5th out of 6 teams
Comparing the teams that HJ's defense has played those stats aren't that bad (im not saying they're great.. dont get me wrong it could be much better)... but most of the teams averaged at least that if not more in just rushing yards... Vidor, Kirbyville, and OF for sure..

"A" Teams:

WOS 7th- 53
HF- 0

WOS 8th- 54
HF- 12
I can't believe this.. thats a little rediculous.. to run up the score in a varsity game is bad enough, but to put up 53-54 points in a 7th or 8th grad game is terrible.. These kids are 12-14 years old..
Not that it matters, but just so you know.  In the 7th grade game WO-S basically shut down the offense in the 2nd half.  HF kept throwing the ball up and at least 2 were intercepted and run back for touchdowns.  Starters were out of the game and you cannot tell reserve guys to not do their best, they are trying to prove themselves.

Pretty much same story on the 8th grade.  WO-S only ran about 6 plays in the first half.  They had 3 defensive TD's before half.  They put in backups in the 4th qtr and scored 3 TD's on long runs that were right up the gut.  HF kept throwing the ball which stopped the clock on incompletes.  Then WO-S would get the ball and run up the middle and break it long.  It looked to me like the clock operator tried to run the clock through an incomplete pass and the HF coach griped and called a TO.  I may be wrong but that is the way it looked.

This was definitely not WO-S fault.  I watched WO-S kneel out the clock on the 2 against KV when they could have easily scored again.
ok.. my mistake.. just saw these scores and was a little shocked by them..
