  1. Every Head Coach was a first time head coach at one time. They all have to get their start somewhere, and sometimes they even stay where they started. I think the most important thing for Colmesneil is to find somebody that will be truly committed to building something there and having success. Success breeds success, and they need to stay away from retreads. Get somebody who is high energy and even if he is in it to win and move on, the positive impact he has might stay with the kids and the program after he is gone.
  2. I've always wondered why people would accuse a Superintendent of intentionally destroying an athletic program. The Superintendent is measured by success across the board. If a school is good in FFA, Choir, UIL, Band, Athletics and has high test scores then the Superintendent is doing a great job. We want success for all kids, that is why we are in this business. It should be all about the kids. Not a big Band fan myself, but i support those kids as much as anybody.
  3. Yes, Purple and White with probably a Horseshoe and a stripe or two. But the fun will be back, they will be highly competitive and enthusiastic and tough to beat..
  4. Would this OC from South Texas happen to have ties to the area?
  5. I'm sure he will do as well as is possible.
  6. Does not sound like an enviable situation for the new coach.
  7. Any news as to exactly what jobs are open in Jasper land?
  8. I agree that they fit better in 10, but keeping Region 3 and Region 4 even numbers wise is going to be tough. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in a couple of weeks.
  9. Halletsville may be a bit over the top, but I know schools in that part of the world that have been having to make those drives for many years.
  10. Texas under Mac was a destination location, Texas under Charlie is not so much.
  11. Not the miles that is the problem, it is the competition. That is an insanely difficult district.
  12. Amen, Soulja. I agree 100%. Missing BG, big time.
  13. I'm sure they are and the charge is probably being led by Central assistant Stevie Moore who has been a staunch Longhorn recruiter for a long time. Whaley needs to go to the Hill and be the starting tailback next year. Just my opinion from an unabashed Razorback homer. WPS!!!
  14. I will be interested to see how this plays out.
  15. Congratulations Jeff and all I have to say it is the right hire and a few years too late for most in Dayton.
  16. Hometown girl running the show, you would think she would want what is best for all of the kids.
  17. For those of us outside the listening area, an update would be nice. Nations everywhere are sitting on pins and needles.
  18. Any Jasper fans willing to enlighten us on the mass coaching exodus that is being reported in another thread?
  19. Good Chick Fried Steak, heck that is reason enough for me. On a serious note, I know there are people that read this from Colmesneil. Are there any high quality Jimmy's and Joe's running around out there?
  20. Dude, chill. This has absolutely nothing to do with race or BISD. If it had happened in BISD, it probably would have been reported quicker and acted on quicker by the media so yes, it would have become public knowledge sooner and been on the board sooner. But, NOT because of race or BISD. Simply because it would have been a more prominent story. Just back off WOSgrad and the whole board. I just had a thread about PN-G pulled because it was deemed too early in the process. You don't hear me whining about it.
  21. Major turnover in Jasper, that is not a good thing.
