  1. They must have had some high profile names apply for this Peach of a job. They are keeping the names very close to the vest. Any coach spottings on campus or around town this week, maybe at the BBQ shack? I think the Dayton OC is a logical choice.
  2. Launius is a heck of a coach. If anybody can turn things around in Hemphill, John can. He does have thick skin, actually that may be an understatement.
  3. Any word on how many they are interviewing or if all have been notified?
  4. There was plenty of wiggle room in that article to suggest that Faircloth may not officially apply for the job, but if they contact him then he will discuss it. He is not going to "chase" anything. But, if he sought out by the powers that be in Odessa, I would bet a bundle that he atleast considers it. If an interview is requested, he would talk to them.
  5. Anybody hear what the school board decided last night at their secret meeting? What do they want in Liberty? Seems that they have a diverse group of kids that should be more successful than they have been recently. Are the people of Liberty open to NEW blood or are they simply going to recycle a NAME that they recognize?
  6. Don't know if he is physical enogh to play DB at the next level. But, they said that about Dustin Harris too and he has done well for himself at A&M. IMHO, Chevoski can be a play making slot reciever. He runs great routes and has great hands.
  7. The Hill is the real deal. Very talented & physical footbsll team. Best of luck next week. Continue to represnt the area & make a long run Give 'em heck!
  8. Gage is a great coach and his history bears that out. State Championships dont grow on trees.
  9. Stats, stats & more stats. Throw out your JV games and the story is much different. The battle will be won up front. Whoever wins the LOS will win this game. Not sure if Bh has as good a defense as Nederland or Dayton or Vidor, but we will see tonight. Not sure if Livingston has the offense to knock off the vaunted BH defense, but it has the tools to do it. Unique combination of power and speed in Livingston. The outcome is very much in doubt. Coaching could play a huge role in the outcome.
  10. Did you play Nederland this year? Does BH have three D1 defensive lineman that are all 6'4, 275 and run 4.8's or better. Did you beat Nederland in the playoffs?
  11. Lions have only been held under 21 twice. One was without Collins and one was versus Nederland. BH is not Nederland.
  12. Really don't think Bh scores 31 points. But, we wil see. Less than 11 hours till kickoff.
  13. Ozen has a great defense. Very athletic and strong up front. They will give Crosby all they want.
  14. No way SC scores more than 24. Vidor defense is too stout. They will blitz like SC has not sceen. Pressure will make SC one demensional and the secondary will rally to the short passes. Vidor has very sure tacklers in the secondary and were second in the district in interceptions. Vidor is very underated. MQ is the real deal and the Pirate offensive line is the real thing.
  15. Sound, fundamental assignment defense will slow down the BH offense. I know its like Novocane & will eventually ear you down, but if Livingston can get a lead BH will panick.
  16. Nederland wins, but the kicking game of Dayton keeps it close. Dogs 28-Broncos 23
  17. Good guys always wear white & not that horendous stuff BH will trot out in. Excited to see a traditional downhill running game from both teams. This will be a blast from the past and a joy to watch. Big plays decide this one. Who has the best big play potential?
  18. Vidor game-TD pass called back on phantom offensive pass intereference early, pair of costly turnovers, and a couple of negative plays when Collins tried to be Houdini. On score game until late in the third quarter.
  19. This years team may not be as talented as last years team or even the 2010 team, but they have already done something last years team didn't do and that's make the playoffs. They won the close games that have mattered. They will also accomplish something the 2010 team did not and get out of the first round by winning tomorrow. This team just finds a way to get the job done. They played a GREAT Nederland team very close (in Nederland on Homecoming) and if not for a fumble on the goaline, a bad snap on a punt and a horrible free kick after the safety the outcome may have been different. Ad before you say it, I know all of those plays are part of the game and special teams are one important phase of the game. If Livingston can limit the mistakes and negative plays they have enough talent to win this game and many more. Team with fewest turnovers and fewest penalties will win this game.
  20. Easy to have 15 score when half your games are against teams who couldn't beat most of the JV teams in 20-4A.
  21. So true about the SC fans begging for respect when they have done nothing but beat up on little ole 19-4A. Dayton is not as good as they have been and BH is well, just the same ole Barbies. Looking for a strong showing this weekend by 20-4A. Nederland is salty and Vidor can play with anybody. Ozen proved last year they can get it going at the right time. Not sure 19-4A has been tested like 20-4A has.
  22. Livingston has 4 backs that can take it to the house. They spread it around and have used multiple backs to keep their athletes fresh because they all play defense as well. If this turns into a track meet the Lions win. Will be very interested to see how #40 likes being beat on every play instead of flowing with the zone blocking of 19-4A. Fun to hear how much the BH faithful have bought into the idea that Chevoski Collins is not as good as Sharp, Walter, Denny, Chambers or any of the great athletes in 19-4A. Delusional!!!
  23. Yea, that loss in '10 was painful. You guys seem to always make the plays necessary to win. That is a mark of a good team and a GREAT program, with a tradition of winning. Dayton has that. BH does NOT. They seem to find a way to lose the close ones. Like they did against Dayton this year. QB sneak for a 40 yard TD. Really??? Livingston has done just enough on both sides of the ball to win the ones they needed to to get in the playoffs. I think they continue with that formula and BH continues with the losing formula of not making the plays.
  24. Of course you do Dayton. You been drinking the Purple Cool-Aid and believe that 19-4A garbage. I predict a 3-1 victory for 20-4A in this match-up. Similar to last year when Dayton rode the back of their kicker and poor play calling by PNG to eek out the only win for 19-4A.
