1A is just like all the other classifications. You just have to watch them from game to game and it is just as exciting as any other. Few years ago Evadale had one of the top players in the state Holli Wilkins. All classifications thought Evadale was pretty exciting that year... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Silsbee stadium the best but the parking is horrible. What they could do is have the car dealer on the hill move all his cars and trucks to the walmart parking lot on Fridays and park fans at the dealership. Anyone wanting to shop at walmart can park somewhere in the woods. Nothing but Chinese junk in the store anyway :D :D :D

Evadale is much improved from last year. West Hardin is very good. Home field advantage to Evadale. Evadale has played Deweyville and Carlisle very good this year. This should be a good one to watch. If the Rebels can be patient and keep it close, I will give them the edge.

In all the replys on this topic I didnt here any concern for the kids. Since the days of Lyle Alzado this topic should have been really investigated in the highschools first. Stop it in the highschools and you stop it up the ladder. They have blown these kids up to 300lbs. in highschool 350lbs in college and nearing 400lbs in pros. When will enough be enough. I love the game but not at the expense of kids. There are enough drugs out there to worry about we dont need another. Save the kids and stomp out steroids.

Just my opinion

the UIL better worry about shortening travel distance for small schools that are already feeling the money crunch. dont want to end up with soccer instead of football.

I have watched this team all year and the problem really amounted to depth, which is usually the case in 1A. They were just not as deep as in the past. Free throw shooting plaqued this team all season long.

They did have the fight in them to come back in this game after being down by 12 in the first half. Actually came back to tie game in regulation and missed the last shot for the win. In the overtime it was just much of the same of not being able to buy a basket. They shot a horrible percentage for the game.

Now about Burkeville. Coach Jamison came from N.O. after the hurricane and in two years time has won a district title and a playoff game. He has taken the talent in Burkeville and got them to be very disciplined. They dont care if they beat you 3-2 as long as they win. Hes done a great job there.

As for the Evadale coach I have watched him for ten years, and he has won District 8 out of 10 and has been a playoff team all 10. Amazing in 1A when you dont have a lot of players to choose from. He will bring the lady rebels back next year and they will be tougher than ever with a great crop of young players.

Evadale is the real sleeper in the region. They are perennial playoff team and well coached. Have big team and can really get after you on defense. They will be very dangerous. Wouldnt want to play them if they get on a roll.

martins mill is very very tough. Lovelady will be a rough game for big sandy, I dont think they can beat lovelady. Evadale will also have warm up game with Hardin. Standing in the way of Evadale match up with Martins Mill is Martinsville, they are rated #14 I believe, of course looking ahead can get anyone in trouble. They both must win a couple of games to get to play Martins Mill.

Good luck to orangefield this year, saw them in Silsbee and was really impressed.

Gotta mention 1A Girls coach Robert Hollyfield of Evadale. Year in and year out a playoff team.Has won district every year but one in his 10yrs.at Evadale. Has over 220 career wins. Hard to keep 1A program on top with few numbers but he has managed to do it.
