1. Since coming over to 3A-18 these two have played 3 times. Every game has been decided by 1 run. Last season in Kirbyville Diboll scored on a suicide squeeze in the top of the 7th to get the win. In two games in Diboll the Jacks scored in the bottom of the 7th to gain wins. Both teams have represented themselves well.
 2. Diboll's Tony Hernandez leads off the bottom of 7th with a triple. Kirbyville intentionally loads the bases walking DeJesus and Lowe. Alex Grimaldo singles to left to drive in the winning run. Diboll wins 3-2. Heck of a game.

 11.
Like I said, never meant any disrespect for Buna. As a baseball fan who didn't see the game, i was just curious if the Dogs could have looked past the Cougs. There are no excuses for anyone. I am not a Jasper fan, nor a Buna fan. Merely a baseball fan that is pretty familiar with the programs. I won't compare the programs as I think Jaspers history against all levels of competition speaks for itself. However, to think that Jasper played with the same intensity and effort that they did against Hudson would be looking through rose, uh blue colored glasses. Hudson is a tradition rich program, a district rival, and the defending 3A-18 champion. For the record, I am not a Hudson fan either. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. It wasn't a district game, and in the end it goes down as a nice win in the record books for Buna. Good luck to them the rest of the way.

15.
Good win for Buna ..even though Jasper isn't as good as they usually are still a great win
Not taking anything away from Buna, but Jasper has a tough district game tonight against Hudson. Could they have been looking past Buna to that matchup? Just curious.
 16.
18-3A game 1-0 Hudson bottom of 2 5-0 still bottom 2 with a pitching change. Still 5-0, top 4. DeJesus pitching better for Diboll 5-0 top 6 5-2 top 7 Diboll has base loaded with no outs Hudson strikes out two, and then makes a great play in left field to rob Diboll of an extra bases hit. Hudson scores 5 runs on several Diboll walks and errors early. Only had two hits for the game, but found a way to win 5-2.
 17. Jasper 2-0 after 1 3-1 after 2 5-1 after 3. Jasper just laying back waiting on the fastball. Diboll imploded. Trails 14-1 after 4 Jasper wins 14-3
 18. Diboll started Sergio Castillo. Pitched well. Left in the 5th with the score tied 1-1.
 19. Not really considered in the SETx coverage area, but since part of 3A-18 I have to say the first Hudson and Diboll rematch. after last seasons state playoff upset by the Jacks this game has to be highly anticipated in the PineyWoods.
 20.
Anybody hearing any news on the AD search, any front runners, names anything?
I think three of the assistants have interviewed so far, but no decision made at this time.
 21. Matt Smith commits to UAM tonight. Congratulations on a great career at Diboll. Good luck at the next level.
 22.
Gotta take a minute to give props to Diboll. Early in the year they didn't even look like a playoff team. Coach Trotter did a phenomenal job with these guys and made a deep run that very few could have seen coming.
Agreed Socrates! Trotter did a great job getting the team re-focused after being beat by Hudson in the second half of district. Matt Smith, Carlos Medina and Jon Lowe stepped up and showed great leadership to the younger players, and Smith found his groove on the mound. I am not taking anything away from La Grange. They hit the baseball well, but as much as I hate to say this, after the big "shocker" over Hudson, there was such a sense of accomplishment amongst the younger players that some of the intensity vanished. In any case, it was a great season for the young Jacks. They re-wrote the DHS record books advancing farther than any other team before them. They will graduate 3 senior starters, and they have a good group coming up. Diboll baseball should be solid for the next several years.
 23.

I saw the BC team play Robinson in game 1, and thought for the most part they hit Hollingsworth okay. I also watched La Grange pound the baseball against Diboll. Granted there is no one on the Diboll staff with his velocity, but they do have kids that will put the ball in play against him. Everything the Leps hit against the Jacks was finding the gap. If they continue with that I will give them the edge. What I don't expect Robinson to do is the make the 15 errors that Diboll did!
