The 17th is the Thursday practice round, shrimp boil and calcutta. The practice round starts at noon and there is a $20 skins game and we give away two watches for low gross round and low net round on that day. This years skins pot was $1000 with 4 skins good making them worth $250 apiece. The shrimp boil starts at 5:45 pm and the calcutta starts around 8pm.

In the 8th grade, we had a defensive tackle that was, let's say, more wide than tall. He always had difficulty keeping his pants up. Once in a game against Hebert, he was at the bottom of a pile and when he was getting up off the ground his pants were around his ankles with his backside pointing straight to the Hebert side of the stadium. Those fans were rolling in the aisles with laughter after getting that big moon shot. Needless to say, that was his last play of that game, his belt broke.

I agree. I don't think it was thought of any other way. I am just curious how Thompson was "misquoted". Thompson was saying to only place he will play on defense is at defensive backfield no other position on defense. Uh, that's not what this quote says, As a junior, he was a first-team all-District 21-3A wide receiver and second-team defensive back. He will only play in the defensive backfield this season, WO-S defensive coordinator Cornell Thompson said

MMSLB, I gather that AJ25 has some personal animosity towards Sherman. I am guessing it has something to do with A&M spurning a certain Lumberton player.

You're kidding, right? Are you trying to say that they only play the games just to entertain fans? Give me a break. : The game is for the kids and coaches. They would play them without fans, trust me. Having fans attend the games is just icing on the cake. You can have cake with no icing, it's just not as sweet. But, the cake is the important ingredient, not the icing. Of course unless you are a 5 year old. :

Fans are not that important to the success of the team. A team will win or lose with or without fans. Don't get me wrong, teams love having the fans attend the games, but they don't win the games for them. That is what I mean by "not that important". : To quote DickyV, "You people"! :

If I know the coaching staff at WOS, they will put the best athletes on the field at all times. I was just suprised at the comment made by Thompson. Having Haynes sit on the sidelines is not something that is done at WOS. I agree with Coop, he will play offense.

I think Haynes can be a good Div. I player. Colleges love his great athletic ability which they all believe can be molded into a fine college football player. Oh, and the jury is still out on Sherman turning around the Aggies. These next two years will tell the tale.
