  1. I expect to see an article in the Orange Leader about your favorite player. ;D
  2. I was told the chairbacks would be at least $100 a seat per game. Also, those seats will have at least a $1000 to $1500 PSL to each seat. No way...I think someone is sharing some bad information with you. Season tickets will go for about 90-100 bucks TOTAL. That will include all of the home games. PSL's on the other hand may run a little higher but not in the 1000-1500 range... LU will ask for donations for first come season ticket preference. They may give folks that 'donate to the scholarship fund' first priority and that will be it. After that season tickets will be available for 90-100 bucks. If you want first choice, donate as much as you can afford to the scholarship fund and you'll get first pick. Works pretty much the same way throughout college football. There isn't really a PSL. So you are telling me that I can purchase a chairback seat for all the home games for just $100?? That's just $17 a game!!! No way!! I believe the chairbacks will go for at least $40-$50 a game.
  3. What's it pay? Does Little Dribbler coach experience count?
  4. Hope he moves to the HJ school district!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Funny you would bring that up. My sources tell me that the player will soon be a Silsbee Tiger. He has family here.
  5. I think I am still on the fence about this. After reading and hearing Nos explain why to foul, he makes great sense. Nos and I had this discussion at the East Chambers tourney when the Orangfield kid hit the three at the buzzer to send their game with Liberty Hill into overtime. Nos was for fouling, Todd and I said not to foul. In that particular instance, Nos was right. I would be more inclined to foul knowing that the opposing five on the court were not great freethrow shooters. Even if they were, I have seen too many a good high school player feel the pressure at the line to come through with that first freethrow. But, it is a game of percentages. Do you take your chances on a 30% shot, or make them hit one freethrow and then get an offensive rebound. IMO, those percentages are pretty fairly equal, but a little worse for the latter.
  6. Personally I wouldn't think that Doug would take that job either. But when Lazeek spoke of a ghost from the past, I wanted to know if that's who he was talking about.
  7. Then disregard my previous post. ;D Who is it that you had in mind?
  8. If you are suggesting that McCarter will come back, then that tells me one or two things. One, that debate we had here about Silsbee and West Brook being the better job that some suggested that Brook was better because it was 5A, gets thrown completely out. He would be leaving a 5A for a 3A school that is not one of the better basketball programs around these parts. The other thing is, if Doug were to come back, then maybe he has worn out his welcome over there at that 5A Katy school.
  9. The comparisons to Pat White probably is a little unfair to Jeremy. But, from what I have read on some of West Virginia's local news sites, messageboards, and on Scout, most folks up there say that Jeremy is more advanced at this stage than what Pat was at this stage. Time will tell, but it looks as though some folks up there are ready to annoint Jeremy as the next Pat White. All I want is for Jeremy to be the best Jeremy Johnson that he can be. If he does that, things will take care of themselves. He'll be a star in his own right.
  10. Not according to what I have heard. Only the chairbacks.
  11. I have not heard anything on the job opening. My guess is that a coach that is already on staff, who has coached the Silsbee varsity girls team before, could be the replacement.
  12. I agree. But my sources tell me that it is Tubbs that is looking at those higher prices. I was told it was his idea about the PSL's and that he thought the chairbacks could get at least $80 a game for them.
  13. Looks as though Cal got out while the gettin was good. [Hidden Content]
  14. I couldn't agree more. I think a reasonable price for the chairbacks should be around the $50-$65 range and the bench seats around the $25-$40 range. Then after a few seasons you can go up on the prices. As for my Aggies, I hope we see a better value for my season tickets there in Aggieland than I have gotten the last few years.
  15. I was told the chairbacks would be at least $100 a seat per game. Also, those seats will have at least a $1000 to $1500 PSL to each seat.
  16. No. ODU is in Norfolk, VA in a metro area of over 1.5 million people. They also don't have much else in the way of entertainment! DC is up the road a bit. LU is in a Metro area about 1/4 the size. I agree. I think Lamar will be fortunate to get 5,000 season tickets, even if that. After hearing what the chairback seats will be going for, that 5,000 number could be out of reach.
  17. Here is a link at scout.com announcing Jeremy's verbal commitment: [Hidden Content] Also a link showing his current national and state ranking at QB: #15 national, #5 state [Hidden Content] And here's a link to Jeremy's bio on scout.com: [Hidden Content]
  18. Silsbee junior QB Jeremy Johnson, 4 star and scout.com top 15 national quarterback, has given a verbal commitment to the West Virginia Mountaineers! This is just a verbal commit, it's non-binding. But this is where Jeremy wants to go and West Virginia has always been at the top when recruiting Johnson. Best of luck to you Jeremy and I am so glad you'll be playing the position that you have always wanted to play at the next level. Now go out and have a great senior season!!
  19. Yes. D. Frank MAY be attending a private prep school in D.C.
  20. IMO, it looks as though Roc is dissappointed with his class and is trying to delay the inevitable, ridicule for the lack of a descent class. I have done some research and it looks as though Lamar is one of the last schools in the nation to release their signees. It will be interesting to hear his excuse for the delay.
  21. No. In fact, the two athletes that I mentioned earlier are the only two to be MVP's of their district in both football and basketball.
