Evadale vs. Cayuga Regional Finals/ Predictions
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You have to hand it to his Rebel team. They have dropped the first game in two series and have come back to win both games of the Saturday double header to advance. There are times when things just line up and this very well could be the year of the Rebels. I will take nothing away from Cayuga, but I did not take any thing away from Overton either and it is the Rebels advancing not the Mustangs. Mo said there is no junk left as there are only 8 teams left and from the Rebels the course is clear and it goes through Cayuga. People have been down on the Rebels all season (what am I saying...ALL YEAR!) for playing in a weak district. Well the champions on that weak district are one series away from state. This group of guys just plays the team that shows up in the other dugout. So far it has worked out well and they are one of three SETX teams that have a shot to advance to the big show! Keep it rolling Rebels you make us proud!
Good post Rebel Yeller. Now, let's get some sponsors and get those Rebel games broadcast here on SETXsports!!! -

Jasper 2 Orangefield 6 Orangefield 3 Jasper 8 Orangfield 4 Jasper 7
What if it's a 1 gamer? ;D
I don't think either coach would choose a one gamer. Orangefield hasn't had much luck in the first game of series of late, and Jasper has enough depth at pitching to prefer the 2 out of 3 in my opinion. But I guess it could happen. It would rest arms before Austin for the winner.
Of late? Orangefield just beat #1 Robinson in the first game of their 3 game series.

I wasn't there but I just spoke to someone who was there and the balk was actually called on the catcher. From what I gathered, runners on 1st and 3rd, 2 outs, the runner on first started to slightly jog to 2nd to try and induce a throw to maybe score the runner from 3rd. PNG catcher stood up out of his stance thinking that the pitcher was going to try and throw the runner out. But the pitcher made the pitch instead and the catcher got back down in his stance and made the catch. That is a no-no. Had the catcher remained up in his stance no balk would have been called. It's still a pretty crappy way to end a series.
