Reports from Beaumont Enterprise sports writer/ Lamar beat writer Chris Dabe and Fox 4's Nick Canizales who both attended Lamar practice today, Bevil and Johnson only two QB's taking snaps today. Dabe reports that it looks as though the QB battle is down to Bevil and Johnson.

The reasons you see high school games on Thursdays is because of stadium availability. All the inner city schools of metro areas (Houston, DFW, ect.) share stadiums. Livingston plays Houston Washington, who shares a stadium with 6 other schools. NFL should be ashamed of themselves for intruding on high school football.

Maxpreps has Kirbyville ranked #50 in region, ahead of teams like PNG, Crosby, Nederland, WOS, Silsbee, Jasper, Newton, ect, ect..... Out of all our SETXsports local teams (5A-Private) only 7 teams are ranked higher than Kirbyville in this poll. That is a bogus poll!!

I was doing the play-by-play for the KFDM/CW televised game of Bridge City and Vidor. My wife, 2 sons and girl friend of my oldest son attended the Lamar game. I did however watch the replay of the Lamar game at lamarcardinals.com.
