How does this "group" get an extra year of football?

I agree. Just wanted to hear if there was some actual logic to the redistricting other than it being political and one side trying to get an advantage over the other.

Houston is 6-10 since All Star break and 2-8 in last 10 games. Lead over Seattle is down to 2.5 after leading by as much as 9.

Astros score just 3 runs on 14 hits. Of those 14 hits, only one of them (Walker's HR) was an extra base hit. Houston had 14 LOB's today. Can't win too many games leaving that many on base.

Pena not in lineup today. Altuve in leadoff spot playing 2B. Correa playing SS, Urias at 3B.

They wanted Arrighetti and Houston said no.

Being that MLB doesn't have a salary cap, taking on Correa's salary isn't all that big a deal. (particularly since we don't have to pay 33 mil of it). We needed an every day 3B since Paredes is done for the year. Correa should do fine there. He is hitting for average about the same as Paredes. Just will need to hit for more power. Be curious to see where he ends up in the batting order. Getting Sanchez was a bonus. Houston desperately needed a left handed hitter. He should help bolster the outfield and may allow Altuve to play 2B more and lead off as well. I would have liked Houston to have picked up a starting pitcher. They are really short handed there, particularly since they gave up Gusto to get Sanchez. Overall, I give them an A-.

Astros actually gave up more (as far as players go) getting Sanchez than they did Correa. Houston just added more salary with getting Correa.

Paredes is good trade bait for next year.

It's a compiled computer ranking over the last 6 years of all 1214 UIL football programs. PigskinPrep puts out the ranking. My guess it's based on overall wins, district championships, playoff wins, state game appearances and state titles.

Jose Altuve was 4-for-4 with a three-run home run to tie his single-game career high with his Astros record 41st four-hit game. He is hitting .363 (33x91) with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, 21 RBIs, 11 walks, 20 runs scored, 1.055 OPS in July.

Paredes might be done for the year. At least two more months. By that time, teams are allowed to expand their rosters. I can see him splitting time at first with Walker and getting some DH time if Alvarez isn't back or when Alvarez plays leftfield. Bottom line, Houston desperately needs a left handed batter in the lineup.
