  1. Yes, I thought they would pull the upset. I was wrong, just like I was wrong on 10 other games Tuesday night. But, I was right to make Warren a favorite in the game even though they lost to Hardin the first time by 11. Something about that 32-6 free throw advantage the first time.
  2. I corrected my earlier post. Warren was only missing a player in this game (a win). Not in the first game (a loss).
  3. Only missing one player for this game. Don't think they were missing any players in the first game. Warren was short handed for their win, not their loss.
  4. I have seen Hardin and Warren this year. Play similar styles. And, like the proud Hardin poster has stated many times, Hardin is not very athletic. Therefore I can see the so called slow footed players having to foul when playing defense. Why? Because the proud Hardin fan has stated that the players have a low basketball IQ and would not know how to position themselves defensively to avoid fouling.
  5. Hardin going to the line 32 times vs. Warren only shooting 6 free throws is a start.
  6. West Sabine 77 Colmesneil 43
  7. It doesn't take much (talent or coaching) to win 22 games with that schedule. 3A Hardin vs. 2A/1A/Private schools 17-2 3A Hardin vs. 3A schools 5-5
  8. 4 point lead with less than a minute left and lose by 6? What the heck?

  13. North Shore has over 4000 students
  14. I question that ranking. Would have to look how the other teams ranked around 10-15 did last week. TABC sometimes gets quirky.
  15. Silsbee 7th grade is better than Silsbee 8th grade. IMO
  16. Rankings updated for Jan. 28
  17. Our (my) rankings have never been about who would beat who in a hypothetical match up. It's about how a team is performing within it's own season. Are there teams ranked below West Hardin that I think would beat them? Yes. But when ranking 3-4 different classifications of teams in a poll, you have to take other things into consideration. 7 may be a bit high.
  18. Several teams in our coverage area districts have opportunities to clinch this week.
  19. Not yet. They have 6 district games remaining due to the postponement of the Tarkington game. Huffman only has a 3.5 game lead on the 5th place team Liberty so therefore they have not clinched.
  20. FINALLY!!! Final Zavalla 58 Brookeland 47
  21. UH has to offer first. AP did.
  22. With ranked Auburn, LSU and Miss. St not involved, I say that's a pretty good showing for SEC.
  23. SETXsports will be dipping into the LIVE video broadcasts starting this week with a doubleheader basketball broadcast on Tuesday night. The Woodville girls and boys basketball teams will play host to Pollock Central in district action and SETXsports will be there with a LIVE video broadcast of both games. SETXsports owner Jordan Wilson will produce this broadcast on a trial run to see what kind of response and feedback we get for this entity. If everything goes well, we will continue with some other video broadcasts for the rest of the basketball season and thru the baseball/softball season as well. Other tentative basketball video broadcasts schedule will be Buna at East Chambers (Friday, Feb. 1), Hardin-Jefferson at Silsbee (Tuesday, Feb. 5), PA Memorial at Nederland (Friday, Feb. 8) and Central Heights at Woodville (Tuesday, Feb. 12). Yours truly will provide all the play by play. If anyone or business is interested in being a sponsor for these broadcasts, contact us here at SETXsports.
