  7. I agree. Flagg is better. He just didn't have the support that Vanderbilt had with his team.
  8. The box inside the winner and consolation side 2nd games is the third game. Those games are on Thursday
  9. The way I read the bracket, Silsbee would see Lincoln in championship semis or consolation semis. It's a 3 game guarantee.
  10. Very. In the game I saw Friday, a couple of players started to get into foul trouble. Coach Stewart made adjustments to their defense and subbed the six man in accordingly. They were still able to keep some pressure but played it very smart.
  11. One of the more impressive teams I have seen this year is the Leggett Pirates. Coach Stewart is doing a tremendous job with his team. They are 8-1 overall after going 5-0 and winning the championship at the West Sabine tourney. They defeated West Sabine twice, Burkeville, Kirbyville and in the finals defeated a very good Shelbyville team, 60-50. These wins all over much bigger schools and teams. When I say much bigger teams, not so much the size of the players, but the amount of players. You see, Leggett only has 6 players on their team. SIX!! I spoke with Coach Stewart after their win over West Sabine Friday and I asked if he had players out. His reply, "I wish". The six he has is the six he will have for entire season. Incredible!! Speaking of his six players. His starting 5 is very good, with 4 of those that can lead the team in scoring in any game. Two of those are very special in #24 and #42. #24 is a '6"3 wing player who will be a complete match up nightmare for any team at the 1A level. He can score off the dribble, can post up and shoot from outside. #42 is a '6"5 post player that looks like he could play TE/DE for many 4A or above football teams. He has good touch around basket, very good rebounding skills and is a shot blocking machine. Both very impressive. I will definitely keep my eye on this team. Just hope for no injury because that would be devastating for this team.
  12. Silsbee lost to Borger in '83 state semifinal. Borger then lost to Waxahachie in finals.
  13. Silsbee has never played Waxahachie in football. Played them once in basketball. 1976 state semifinal. Lost 50-47.
  14. Thanks. I like the fact they are not playing first game and really rather not play them at all till SA.
  15. Silsbee and Lincoln are playing each other in 1st round of Dallas ISD Coca Cola Invitational. Not sure I like this. Rather wait to play those guys in SA.
  16. #1 Dallas Lincoln just lost to 5A #1 Lancaster by 12 points. Lancaster lost to Bellaire and beat Yates by 5 last week in Texas Jamboree, a Yates team that is ranked behind Lincoln and Silsbee. If you look at the schedules and results for Lincoln and Silsbee, both have very good wins over high quality opponents. But Silsbee's one loss is a better loss than Lincoln's one loss. I would say they are even but would not argue with anyone stating Lincoln is the best 4A or Silsbee is the best 4A right now.
  17. 51-45 Wagner over Pflugerville for the South San Antonio championship
