Silsbee vs Longview Springhill (Silsbee Homecoming)

I kind of figured that out when you said Newton would beat Nederland by 50. -

I guess you don't know as much as you think. Spring Hill been around since the 40's -
Yes. Evadale will play Kelly at Kelly Friday Oct. 11
-
Are you his recruiting agent? BTW, if he is such a good player, then why isn't he on any recruiting lists? Also, I was on the sidelines for one of Anahuac's scrimmages. I saw no player that stuck out for the Panthers like you are stating.

Is Hampshire Fannett the "REAL DEAL" this year
AggiesAreWe replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Football
Wasn't Silsbee 2-3 at this point with wins over Bridge City and Lumberton last year? This year they are 2-2 with wins over Nederland and a better Lumberton team. I believe they would have beat BC had the game been played. I think this year's offense is as good, defense getting better. It is reasonable for Silsbee to be as good as last years team at the time they play H-F. Personally, I thought last years Silsbee team didn't start peaking till the playoffs. -
Or in some cases out of town.
-
Silsbee turning in 285. Going to win a few 2A state championships in next 3-4 years.

AP uses DCTF rankings. They no longer have their own. [Hidden Content]
-
There are no longer AP polls for Texas HS Football. DCTF is the only state rankings now.
-
You said rankings mean nothing. I can show you where they put four teams in a playoff to play for a National Championship. Also, in Louisiana, they use a ranking system to make up the high school playoffs. Those are much more meaningful than a thought and a piece of paper.
-
By you making already three posts on this thread tells me that rankings do mean something.
-
So what you are telling us (SETXsports and DCTF) that we are just wasting our time with putting out rankings each week. Think I will make PN-G #1 next week

Last year's soph. and freshmen class were not the classes I have been referring to. This year's freshmen and 8th grade is the next good group so I highly doubt they will be any help come this November. Good try though. -
And a bogus chop block call away from losing by 19 or 20. It goes both ways. Silsbee beat Lumberton last year by 21 at home with Lumberton using a 3rd string QB most of the game. Win by 12 on the road with a much better Lumberton team on the field. I honestly don't see that much difference in the two games in comparison. Silsbee definitely has things to work on but it certainly isn't panic time just because of a 12 point win over Lumberton.
-
Showing a great deal of care with those type comments.
-
Nor 42. Why just use the Silsbee game in your comparison? Since you like comparing games as a way to predict outcomes, why not use WO-S game? 21-20 loss but Newton only beat the Mustangs by 6. So by that comparison it seems Newton is really only about as much as 10 points better than Nederland. Again, Nederlands numbers would keep the game closer than 42 point spread.
-
Newton does not beat Nederland by 50. Get real.
