I hate having this game to start the season. I liked it when it was the last game of the yearesults but that won't happen since they are no longer in the same district...

The scrimmages are over with. Will the streak continue for the Bruins or will they Jaguars finally get over the hill after loosing by 6 in 2014 and 3 in 2015?

It was actually 6, PA Lincoln, Houston Forest Brook, Vidor, Baytown Sterling, Baytown Lee and West Brook. In 11 games they only have up 90 points, 8.18 ppg..

Not going to predict a score or win by margin but PA-M will start the season off 1-0...

I don't have yardage at hand but in 13 games, the 2003 defense gave up and average of 11.3 page while the 2008 defense in 14 games gave up 16.7 ppg...

I judge the more recent years by the 08 defense. They have the potential on paper and in practice but it will be determined by what happens in the games starting Friday...

Not going to comment too much about today's scrimmage except to say the offense has more pieces to play with at the skill spots and the "smoke" has cleared. If it comes true what UNDERSTAND said about this defense being the best, then anything short of a district championship, a win over West Brook and at least a 2nd round visit will be a big disappointment. Jags came out of the scrimmage healthy...

The jury is still out on that. There have been some great defenses to come out of there. Theye have the potential to be, we will have to just see. Hopefully the offense doesn't put them in too many bad field position sitiuations...

Actually, the jet sweeps went for about 60 to the end zone today...

I haven't seen that play the days I've been up there for practice...

I know coaches do exaggerate but the football roster for 2016 has him listed at 6-3; 303 pounds...Either way, thanks Buddy...

I checked them out yesterday, hard to judge in no pads and going against team mates. This defense has the potential to be the best in the district and rival some of the better defenses in Jaguar history. The offensive potential is there. Speed as usual, just a matter of how the O-Line plays. I'll give a better analysis after the Channelview scrimmage.

So despite Ozen not participating in Spring ball and starting practice a week earlier than the other 2 Beaumont high schools, they don't have a scrimmage this week?

I remember not too too long ago when at least by the end of the season, there would be at least 1 representative to Crack the top 10 from 22-5A...sigh.
