  1. I have seen him play several times over the last 3 years and he is the real deal. 6'1"-180 with elite speed. He'll probably be a DB in college, but could just as easily be a RB or WR.

I honestly think we've OVER recruited at the WR position... All that talent and no one to throw them the ball. We need to be recruiting on defense to allow those young QB's more chances to make plays.

  2. Okay. I have to give much credit to WOS and the coaching staff after the performances i've seen these past few weeks. It was an amazing feat holding a top ranked la marque offense scoreless (hasnt been done in at least 8 years), Handling La Grange's potent offense, and completely dominating a state contender in Sinton. I see a lot of "like-ness" in this team that i seen in the la marque teams of old.... except with better coaching. lol This is going to be the greatest match up of the State Championship by far this year between WOS vs Gilmer. Gilmer is also very talented. A lot more so than la marque or Sinton. #21 for Gilmer reminds me a lot of Jonathan Gary the way he runs with the ball. He has great speed. He will be one to watch for in this matchup. I'll be watching from a distance. Goodluck.

  3. I must say I'm very shocked as well as impressed by the results of this game. I wasnt able to make it unfortunately, but to hold la marque scoreless speaks be praises to your defense. WOS's special teams play and consistent defense is what I believe made the difference in this game. I will say la marque getting 3 interceptions in this one does show signs of weakness in your offense. Be weary of that next week... but overall great performance. I give props where they are due, La marque definitely came in an put themselves in a position to win going into the half.. The represented us well. Good luck.

  4. La Marque (11-1) vs. West Orange-Stark  (10-2)

Let’s start off by saying that West Orange-Stark has one of the best defensive backfields in the state. With Alabama commit Deionte Thompson, Johnny Shaw and Trey Spencer all back there, it’s truly a no fly zone. With that said, the secondary won’t matter much in this game. La Marque is a run-heavy team that doesn’t throw the ball very often. The Cougars keep the ball on the ground with their three-headed monster of Ladarrian Ellis-Jones, Daequan Jones and Alan Cooper. West Orange-Stark, which is only giving up around 13 point per game, needs defensive tackles Octavis Crosson and Scott McCarty to plug up the middle and at least limit the dangerous trio.  La Marque’s defense is also solid and that might spell trouble for a West Orange-Stark offense that has been good but not great this season. Still, West Orange-Stark just seems to find a way to get it done this year.

    EJ’s pick: West Orange-Stark 23, La Marque 21

I think that score should be flipped however.

  5. GIDDINGS LAST WEEK FRONT 5 ON DEFENSE 250-235-230-250- DOSE SOMEONE HAVE THE RUSHING YARDS WO-S HAD

Giddings is not la marque... lol They are two contrasting defenses and BIG does not always = skilled. Thats the hardest thing is to compare these two teams because they havent played many common opponents or seen eachother in some time.... It makes this one interesting. Whether we win or lose, I was looking forward to this matchup. We can all give factual "fluff" to make our teams look better than the other. But because of not really being able to compare these teams with statistical data.... there is always that unknown factor of how it will really play out.... To give an honest opinion... I think because these teams dont know eachother well, La marque's speed and blocking will catch WOS off guard initially and WOS's athleticism and passing game will test our defense constantly all night...

That being said, Im going to make an early prediction on this one ... LM 24 WO 21

  6. Hum? thought you guys had no weakness, by the way every team that we have played have 2 fast running back, no big deal we are use to that same ole same ole let just run on WOS, it wont be enough. Let your team air it out if you can HA HA HA

Maybe the same ole in your district, but im sure you havent faced a team will 4 FAST running backs with at least 3 of the 4 all on the field at the same time. Its not just about stopping one guy. You have to know where the ball is going, and if you guess wrong you will find yourself looking at the back of our jerseys.  :P

  7. Turner

Good that you know about our history. The difference between the 85- 86 team is the offense. We ran the Option, the guys told me here on this site, that we run a different offense now. This team is solid in their running game and, receiving play. We have many Wide Receivers who can burn your secondary on any play. (This is a fact), and our running game is really good. Offense Lineman are the best that I have seen in a very long time. I have looked at some of your video from the Texas City game, and noticed that you have big defensive players. If they cannot keep up their stamina, throughout the game, it will be a long day for your cougars. The Mustangs will turn it on. IMO.

For some reason i dont see that being the deciding factor Ladybug. I've seen tape on your O line, who as done pretty well this year, however if your plan is to tire out the cougar defensive that would entail you running the ball consistently. La marque may have weaknesses on Defense but they do a great job stuffing the gaps as well as getting a consistent pass rush just from 4 down lineman, even in their one loss to Texas city. So It wont be as easy as some may think despite WOS good RB.. One kid who has impressed me for WOS is #6. Has great speed and if he gets to the edge with blockers he can make things happen. But honestly WOS's best bet is to air it early and try to go up by AT LEAST 2 touchdowns to open their running game. And with La marque's improved play in the secondary they will be ready to compete in that aspect as well.

  8. Yes LM rushes for 250 a game but that's simply because they have played less athletic programs! Wos will match their athletic ability all over the field! HJ was also averaging a crap load of yards running the ball and so was giddings!!! It's obvious that the LM passing game isn't very good and that's why they run so much! You will not beat this wos team with a one dimensional offense! This will be the 5th team wos has faced this year that is a run happy team! They are well prepared!!!

Line up whoever you want... even in the loss to aledo in 10'. La marque ran circles around their defense on kickoffs and during drives but just couldnt put it in the endzone to finish it, the stats we're impressive nevertheless. Not comparing that team to this years because that class had stand out players in all the phases of the game. However, in general, la marque will rack up yards on WOS. No question. And if your Dline is small, doesnt matter how fast they are if we're already through the huge gaps before they even make it into the backfield. Better get your QB some icy hot, he's gonna have to work his arm all night if he wants to take la marque out of this game.

  9. lets look deeper into this game.
first off lets look at LM #1 very big--YES # 2 very fast backs--YES #3 plays smart football--NO # 4 smart coaching staff--so so #5 passing game-- joke lol # 6 blocking skills -- my be only on the sweeps

now wo-s # 1very big-- no #2 very fast-- so so # 3 playes smart football--yes # 4 smart coaching staff -- one of the best around # 5 passing game very good # 6 blocking skills -- good
if you wish to add to this PLEASE DO

I would disagree with you on la marque blocking being a "maybe" you dont rack 250 yards a game on the ground without some good blocking from the boys up front. I would say Lm blocking- Good.

  10. You're not being nice, you're being overconfident. You took the bet, don't try making excuses now. I know exactly what the golden triangle is, but we're talking about the SETX coverage area. One kickoff return was the only reason Giddings was in that game at all. It wasn't a struggle for West Orange. You being THAT wrong on a score certainly shows that you don't know what you're talking about, despite you're "vast football knowledge." I definitely didn't say that TC blew out LM. I simply stated that the only quality opponent they faced, they lost. Which is completely true. I'll go stand in a corner when you quit with the ridiculous posts old man. Your washed up old predictions are just that - wrong. When LM loses this week, they'll regret not scheduling some more quality opponents.

And if/when they win, then what say you ....??
