Woodville vs Coldspring-Oakhurst
eagleswoodville#1 replied to eagleswoodville#1's topic in High School Football
I think it will be a good gamr, if CS shows up. If they don't, it'll be a long night for them. They have the fire power to make a serious run at winning this game if Woodville doesn't take them seriously. -
Woodvillet hosts the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans in a battle that will essentially decide the district championship. As long as Woodville takes care of business, they'll end Friday as the 1st seed in this district. I believe they do take care of business Friday night. Woodville 35 Coldspring-Oakhurst 21

Most disrespected team in your district?

Disrespected due to lack of performance? Warren, by far. Disrespected, as in teams hate playing against them? I can't think of one. -
Texas City's D'onta Foreman

Williams is good too. Foreman is better IMO, but Williams is a beast too. -

Texas City's D'onta Foreman

Misunderstanding then. Either way, still at least 3 ahead of him in my opinion. -

This year, you're right. There are at least 3, and probably 4 backs ahead of him on the big board in this draft. His best bet is to stay another year. -

If he doesn't, he may come into next season as the too back in the nation. McCaffery, Cook, Perine, and Fournette will leave to the draft. -
Foreman is quietly having a huge season for the Texas Longhorns. Seems to be the lone bright spot that has shone the entire season. I'll go out on a limb and say he's a top-5 running back in the country. Glad to see someone from our general area have some success for my Horns!

Hopefully just a stinger. That's what it looked like, but unfortunately, a stinger also shows some of the same symptoms of more major injuries, just only temporarily.

District 11-3A D1 Week 10 Overview
eagleswoodville#1 replied to eagleswoodville#1's topic in High School Football
If Woodville beats CS, they win the district outright with an undefeated record (6-0). The 3-way tie happens if they get beat by Coldspring. That would put Buna, CS, and Woodville at 5-1 in district. Their only loss the entire season was to Liberty in Week 4. -

Woodville.....should.....beat Coldspring. Should. They have more talent all-around than CS and much more size up front. Again I say.....they.....should.....beat them. We all know how much weight the word "should" carries in high school football though. Lol -
Way too close for comfort. Kirbyville is better than that. Better perform better than that next week or you may find yourself in an awful first-round match up. Come on Cats. Good win and good gane Trinity.

Week 10 Scores Buna 43 over Warren 0 Kirbyville 28 over Trinity 27 Coldspring-Oakhurst 62 over Kountze 6 Woodville BYE Week 11 Schedule Buna (+13) vs Kirbyville Coldspring-Oakhurst at Woodville (+8) Kountze (+6) vs Warren Trinity BYE Team / PF - PA / Record Buna / 248 - 207 / (6-3)(4-1) Coldspring-Oakhurst / 293 - 174 / (4-4)(4-1) Kirbyville / 270 - 180 / (6-3)(3-2) Kountze / 194 - 395 / (2-7)(0-5) Trinity / 175 - 309 / (3-7)(2-4) Warren / 58 - 311 / (1-8)(0-5) Woodville / 372 - 83 / (8-1)(5-0) Week 6 of district play yielded exactly what we expected, aside from a much closer than expected game between Kirbyville and Trinity, which ended 28-27 in favor of the Wildcats of Kirbyville. Buna took care of Warren, 43-0. Coldspring-Oakhurst defeated Kountze handily, 62-6. Week 11, or the 7th week of district play is exactly what we've all been waiting for in this district the entire year. All games are important to each school. Kountze and Warren battle it out to avoid a last-place finish. Kountze should win it, but the Warriors have a good opening to win their first game in district play. Buna hosts Kirbyville in a pivotal match-up. Buna's only hope of a share of the district championship is a win and a Woodville loss. Even then, the first seed is out of the question, but still alot at stake for them. I expect Buna to win a good game at home though. For the game of the week and the one everybody will be watching. Woodville hosts Coldspring in the eventual District Championship game. Implications are huge. Woodville has already clinched a share of the title, but could fall to second with a loss. Coldspring could clinch an outright championship by beating Woodville by 15 or more (correct me if I'm wrong. Point spreads confuse me). I expect Woodville to win at home, giving them their first district title since 2005 and their first 9-win regular season since 1983. Scenarios for each team (correct me if wrong. I tried. Lol): Buna: can clinch 2nd with win, or tie for 1st with win AND CS win Coldspring-Oakhurst: can clinch 1st win 16+ point win, clinches 2nd with Buna loss AND win of 15 or less points over Woodville Kirbyville: clinched 4th seed Kountze: eliminated Trinity: eliminated Warren: eliminated Woodville: can clinch 1st with win over CS, fall as low as 3rd with 16+ point loss to CS AND Buna win District Standings: 1. Woodville (8-1)(5-0) 2. Buna (6-3)(4-1) 3. Coldspring-Oakhurst (4-4)(4-1) 4. Kirbyville (6-3)(3-2) 5. Trinity (3-7)(2-4) 6. Kountze (2-8)(0-5) 7. Warren (1-8)(0-5) Game of the Week: Woodville vs Coldspring-Oakhurst ALSO...would like to congratulate the Trinity Tigers on a great season, as tonight was their final game. They finished the season with a final record of 3-7 and their young team gained a world of experience. Look for them to compete well for a playoff spot next year!

I'm guessing that qualifies as "concussion symptoms". -
Woodville DE Chris Castle received his first offer from Texas Southern University a few days ago, per his personal Twitter account. Chris has 19 tfl, 4 sacks, and 83 total tackles this year as he has lead his team defensively to the district championship for the first time in 11 years. Congrats Chris! Well deserved!

Kountze and East Chambers Basketball 16-17
eagleswoodville#1 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
I'm not sold on this new coach yet, but then again they haven't even played a game yet. I'm all-in on football right now, but basketball is in my blood, so it'll take the front seat after December. Lol -

eagleswoodville#1 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Look for Woodville to be tough. May not win that district with CH in it, but should compete well. Christian Williams is a star and, as football has shown, alot of our young athletes are starting to develop nicely. I know football athleticism and basketball athleticism are totally different, but could make an impact nonetheless. -
District 11-3A D1 Week 9 Overview
eagleswoodville#1 replied to eagleswoodville#1's topic in High School Football
And no knock on Trinity, but they aren't exactly "tough" at home. Any team has a home field advantage, but some are greater than others and Trinity isn't at the top of the list. It's harder to go into Kirbyville or Woodville, not even considering the more talented teams. -

Week 9 Scores Buna 40 over Coldspring-Oakhurst 35 Trinity 33 over Warren 0 Woodville 66 over Kountze 28 Kirbyville BYE Week 10 Schedule Buna (+35) at Warren Coldspring-Oakhurst (+21) vs Kountze Kirbyville (+21) vs Trinity Woodville BYE Team / PF - PA / Record Buna / 205 - 207 / (5-3)(3-1) Coldspring-Oakhurst / 231 - 168 / (3-4)(3-1) Kirbyville / 242 - 153 / (5-3)(2-2) Kountze / 188 - 333 / (2-6)(0-4) Trinity / 148 - 281 / (3-6)(2-3) Warren / 58 - 268 / (1-7)(0-4) Woodville / 372 - 83 / (8-1)(5-0) District Summary: Week 5 of district play showed that the Buna Cougars, despite a loss to a solid Woodville team, are one of the top teams in this district. They "upset" Coldspring, 40-35. Woodville annihilated Kountze, 66-28, although Kountze showed alot of potential and young athletes. Trinity also handled Warren, 33-0. Week 6 should be another boring week, as the top 3 match up with the bottom 3, aside from district leader Woodville, who has a BYE. Buna should handle Warren very easily, as should Kirbyville defeat Trinity soundly. Coldspring is obviously the better of the two teams in their match with Kountze, but Kountze could surprise a couple. I don't expect them to win, but they could make it interesting for awhile. District Standings: 1. Woodville (8-1)(5-0) 2. Buna (5-3)(3-1) 3. Coldspring-Oakhurst (3-4)(3-1) 4. Kirbyville (5-3)(2-2) 5. Trinity (3-6)(2-3) 6. Kountze (2-7)(0-4) 7. Warren (1-7)(0-4) Game of the Week: Coldspring-Oakhurst vs Kountze (This was a hard game of the week to pick lol)
