1. Here is the direct quote from the rule book: Section 440: ELIGIBILITY - ATHLETICS Subject to the other sections of this subchapter, an individual is eligible to participate in a League varsity athletic contest as a representative of a participant school if that individual: (a) meets all the requirements of Section 400; (b) is a resident of the member school district (see Section 442), and a resident of the attendance zone in which the participant school being attended is situated, (1) Or has been continuously enrolled in and regularly attending the school for at least the previous calendar year if his or her parents do not reside within the school district’s attendance zone; see (5) (B) below for exception. Note: a student who has changed schools for athletic purposes may be declared ineligible for more than one calendar year. See §443 (f) (3).
2. From the UIL website: Eligibility for Athletic Contests meet all the requirements above, are less than 19 years old on September 1 preceding the contest or have been granted eligibility based on a disability that delayed their education by at least one year, live with their parents inside the school district attendance zone their first year of attendance (see your school administrator for exceptions), have not moved or changed schools for athletic purposes, have not violated the athletic amateur rule, and were eligible according to the fifteen day rule and the residence rule prior to district certification. There is no mention of districts.  The sit out period is a year.
3.
Sorry, I know I'm about to make some people mad. But, this is ridiculous 4 teams in each district making the playoffs. What is this? Watered down the playoffs with bad teams. There will be several teams with losing records in the PLAYOFFS. Call me old fashion but until my senior year only one team made the playoffs. They should have kept it at two IMO.
I agree, but there were a couple of fourth place teams playing for State in 5A this year.
4. If he is selfish in his play, then yes it seems like they are.
5. You notice its the lumberton fans bashing him too. Yes, after the year he had his junior year, offensive coordinators schemed thier plans away from him. He still had a decent year.
6. You sure about that?
7. Nederland seems to be improving!! 8)
8. DJ has played RB,TE,WR on offense. He played LB ,DE and I think a few times at DB on Defense.
9. Nope, I'm not thinking that. I'm pointing out that the weak 21-4a didn't help you out against 22-4a in the playoffs. After playing down to the opposition, its hard to ramp it up for better opponents.
10. Dayton has only got past a 22-4a team in the playoffs once, against PNG. All other times our district rep knocked you out. That district makes you play down to them. Besides it seems I remember a 49-14 whooping in the playoffs a couple of years ago. So it goes both ways.
11. And of course TW is blaming the NFL if you look on that "reserved" channel its states that if the NFL says its ok, they will broadcast games. However, that channel didn't show up until TW started getting bad press.
12. Please. Neumann has a better playoff record, higher winning percentage, and has done it in a much tougher district than 21-4a.
13. LOL. :
14. I have heard that Ned has WOS on the schedule so far..
15. Right. and they lost by 10. Thats why I think they were the closest. WOS got beat pretty well by Ennis, and by 20+ by Wimberly.
16. We have seen how hard it is to make it all the way. Dayton found out last night. So who has actually been the closest to winning a state title but didn't win it? My vote is for PNG versus Stephenville. Newton is not in poll because they have won one recently.
17. Its just two or three steel beams mounted in concrete. They can pick up with a crane and put on a flatbed and move it. I see bigger stuff going down the highway all the time.
18. Not that unusual, it happened to PAISD recently.
19. Well don't feel bad, I'm closer to 65 than you are. ...According to the preliminary reports, a stadium will be on the bond. The final list probably won't be out until March or April.
20. Only 30 years Aki? Getting up there hmmm. ;D Thats what I said. Over 65 , Disabled vets, etc. taxes are frozen at a certain level, whatever is set by the appraisal district. Others get a homestead exemption.
21. bump 8)
22. I'm ready to see the full list of whats on the bond.
