I heard that this game is being played on Thursday night. Why?????

WOS has not lost a district game since they became 3A. This game should be a good one. I think WOS wins but it may take Overtime to get the win. Both team match up well, speed on both sides of the ball and both programs have won. The fans should get their moneys worth in this one!!

South East texas football is not considered Houston Area I would guess. If we were considered several local teams would be ranked.

Anahuac is 1-3. They beat Fort Bend Christian. Lost to HJ,Hitchcock and Splendora. They played an ok schedule and I promise Buna is not taking them lightly.

24 over par, are you saying that Buna set up parents to call games to cheat for them? I hope not!! As for your comments on do they us them for football, the answer is NO!!!! In the other cases that you are talking about, Buna schedules officals just like every other school and they get whom ever they send. In one case the offical never showed up, so Buna got someone out of the stands so the kids could play. An offical not showing up is not the schools fault. The other team could refuse to play, so don't say Buna did that on purpose. Officals not showing up does not just happen at Buna, it happens all the time. If you had a problem during that event, why don't you get certified as an offical so you can call games, untill then keep that statement to your self.

Can a coach show film to a player during the summer? If not that was not the best thing to put in a newspaper article!!!

To all that have said something or questioned a coach from the stands. (myself included) Maybe you should go up to the school and ask for a minute of the coaches time(which they do not have) and draw up an offense play against a defense. Do not forget to draw up secondary coverage and defense fronts, acount for the blitz and oh yeah do it in 25 seconds. Give the man a break unless you would like to get certified get hired and stand in his shoes. Coach Crouch if you read this web site, and I hope you do not, just know that some of us know that your job is not easy and keep on doing the best that you can. Besides if he is that bad get on Coach Hooks for hiring him!!!

East Chambers has proven every year they have a good football team and HJ has been down. Untill HJ proves they are better you have to pick E-C. E-C 28 HJ 20

Steelerczy. You had a post that no one in 24-2A is shaking in their boots because Buna beat a 1A school. Well if you look at your schedule you guys play 3 1A schools in the pre-district and so far 21-0 (Which I heard that it was closer than the score) does not exactly make anyone shake either. You should know that with High School kids you can be surprised or let down on any given week. Last year Buna lost tot Anahuac 26-14. Sounds like Anahuac played well but the truth is Buna had 9 Turnovers and only lost by 12 points. Buna lost the game but I feel Anahuac did not play well enough to Win. JMO Best of luck to you guys except when you come to Buna.LOL.

Well punisher 89. You must have played in 1989 for Burkeville, when you guys beat up on everyone by as many as you could. Buna did not run the score up , Burkeville did not play the second half. Burkeville put 10:00 minutes on the clock instead of 12:00, and never stopped it. Buna only ran 5 plays on Offense in the second half. They were trying to play their Soph. Buna has been on the losing end of high scoring games many times, and I don't feel they would ever run the score up on anyone. Burkeville is just down this year but they have some greast athletes and everyone in Buna wishes them well. Sorry if you feel 62 points was unsportsman like but the starting line sat out the WHOLE second half.

Great job cougs!!! OF Buna in the past were BIG rivals so this is big for all the older folks. OF played hard but Buna is a little better team this year. Good luck to OF the rest of the way and Cougs keep getting better each week and you'll reach the district champ goal you have set. Burkeville is next.

I think Buna wins by two td's because they looked good against Newton. Orangefield has had people miss scrimmages due to injury, so those kids did not get game speed reps. It is very hard to see game speed at practice so I feel the Bobcats will be a little behind because of that. good luck to both and LETS GET THIS FOOTBALL SEASON STARTED!!!!!

Hornet hive are you typing drunk???? Last post is hard to follow. All the talk is fun and gets the kids and adults hyped up but you still need to play the games. Last year Anahuac was predicted to be a playoff team and they had a tough year, so you can not count anyone out untill they lose a few district games. Non-District games do not count, because every school does not play the same non-district schedules. See ya at district end and I hope all will be happy to talk about their predictions. Here are mine and if I'm wrong I'll be on here Friday night after the last scheduled distict game. The team with the most wins gets distict title. (Just kiddin') 1-Buna/East Chambers 3-Kountze/Anahuac 5-Deweyville/Warren/Hardin

Buckster.... No offense taken. I just was saying EC did not blow out Buna but they did play better for 4 quarters and deserved to win the ball game. No excuses but it was not a butt wipen. I hope this year it's both teams undefeated playing for a district title. Hardin seems to be fairly confident about their team this year. JMO but i feel it will be Buna, EC, and Kountze/Anahuac playing for third. I know Hardin and Deweyville will be upset but it's JMO.

If I'm not mistaken Coaches in Texas High Schools are TEACHERS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone seems to forget that these guys are held to a higher standard, if they lose they look for another job! How about helping these coaches instead of looking for little nit picking things to complain about. If a young man hears a cuss word from a coach, that same kid has heard at least the same word from one of his friends. So should the other friend be held to a higher standard? Maybe Society, because that kid has a CD that MOMMY AND DADDY paid for that has the same words on it!

Do not forget Buna, they only gave up 15pts a game in district. They also scored an ave. of 27pts per game. On defense Buna only lost 4 starters and they feel they will be just as good or better than last year. This district should be fun to watch Anahuac has a new AD and E-C still has Superman and Deweyville will tough as always, Kountze may be the sleeper, Hardin not this year but will be a ton better, Warren will be well coached and tough to beat. Should be fun but I just feel that Buna if not on top of the defense list for 24-2A then tied for second. JMO

I understand your upset, but it is my understanding that the coach can not vote for his own kids. SO the coach of that team has no control over who gets all-district from his team. The problem is that so few people remember all the kids they faced. Unless they did something to stand out that game then that coach does not vote for him and is basically a lost vote. People can say stats all day but (I THINK) a coach usally tries to remember how a kid did against him and not what his coach says his stats are. JMO. Thanks for the good luck for the cougs and I hope the boys continue to represent the distict like they have so far and show those fellows in the other districts that 24-2A was pretty darn tough.
