Buna defense had 3 picks tonight that makes 16 on the year! Deweyville played well but buna finally had a turn over free ball game.good luck to the pirates on a well played ball game. Buna still has one more to win to get in and Warren will be ready because for both teams win and your in! Again a great ball game to watch!

The game friday between Deweyville and Buna has no decision on who makes the play-offs. Buna has to beat Warren to get in. The Buna vs Deweyville game can only decide 2nd or 3rd. (because Deweyville has already beat Warren) The only way Deweyville is out is if they lose to Buna and Kountze and Warren beats Anahuac and Buna. That being said both of these teams are ready to play and I feel should be a HARD HITTING game between what should be two play-off teams. Warren and Buna should be another game that is going to be fun to watch. Warren and Buna both will be playing for a playoff spot and will bring out all the stops. Well blue bleeder! That so called 5ft coner did not allow a pass to be caught and as a matter of fact he got an offensive foul called against anahuac because he had good coverage. As far as running behind big number 77 and falling back, all i saw was 5-10 yd gains and fumbles. Buna's problem that night was turning the ball over and keeping the defense on the field way too long. Anahuac did a good job capitalizing on the turnovers but only won by 12 points. I feel Buna will bounce back and have a big night against a very good Kountze Lions team. do not think for a minute that Buna is overlooking them and it should be a fun game to watch.

Anahuac beat Buna 26-14 and Kountze beat Anahuac 31-6. So who wins??

I went to the Buna Anahuac game. What happend to #23. He went off on Buna (171yds and 3 td's) and does anyone know his name? I heard he was a soph. A friend of mine said he went to the Kountze game and did not remember seeing a #23. I told him he must not have been their because if he would have seen him, he would remember. Anyone have any details on this kid?

All teams 7th - varsity can practice on the turf, you never have to paint the field (Savings) There is no mowing (Savings) no rain out games or practices(Dayton coach said it could rain 9" and in 30 min it would be dry enough to play on), Other teams will play playoff games at your place (More money for the school). The disadvantages are if the team you are playing are faster than you they will be even faster, The turf is EXTREMELY hot during the summer, and the first two years you deal with the black beads of rubber that come out of the turf. As a fan, I love the look of it and as a player I think I would love to have had the chance to play on it.

Rgranger was at the game. The buna defense stayed on the field a long time. Anahuac has 3 drives inside the 20 stopped so if anahuac is so good why did they only win by 12 points. If you ask me as a team if Buna gets 7 turnovers they win by alot more than 12. No Ahanuac did not cause but one fumble the other 4 were buna backs just putting the ball on the ground. (there was 2 intercepions) As panther fan said fumbles are part of the game and NO Anahuac was not the best defense that Buna had seen. Hull-Daisetta hit alot harder than Anahuac, BUT give Anahuac credit they got a win and Buna got a loss. I also agree with rgranger Anahuac will lose to East Chambers and Deweyville, and Warren will be a close game. Good luck Anahuac and the week after Nov 10th we will see who is playing basketball and who is still playing football!!!!!

No excuses Anahuac wins!! I wish Buna would not have had SEVEN turn overs and could have made it a better game. Like my post yesterday I'm here saying my prediction was wrong but Buna will be back.

Does homecoming help or hinder the home team? Does being scheduled for another teams homecoming fire up the visiting team?

I don't have a problem with a fan or a player bragging but if you make a stupid statement and then your team gets beat then don't go missing in action. If you feel your team will win and they do not then give credit where credit is due. I feel the Orangefield will play well but Silsbee is way too strong and I feel Buna will win against Anahuac in a close game. If any of my predictions are wrong I'll be here Monday morning saying I was WRONG. good luck to all teams and may my predictions all be correct. (ha-ha)

Pantherdad. Are you willing to bet a eye brow on that statement. The cougars are going down hard! You said Anahuac played a hard schedule. Splendora lost to Oranngefield and destroyed you guys. H-J lost to east chambers by one. Hitchcock played Kelly and did not get a first down the whole game. So as for your hard schedule that is BS. You guys have great kids and great atheletes but are having internal problems getting use to a new football coach. As far as who Buna scheduled Orangefield who beat us 28-7 (they beat splendora 34-26 and you guys lost 54-13 to spendora). Burkeville(47-6 US) who is traditionally very good are just down this year. Tarkington(30-12 US) is a 3A school and Hull-Daisetta(34-0 US) was ranked 23rd in the state in 1A and undefeated at the time. Buna is expecting a difficult game and are working hard but to say that they are going down hard is wrong and unwarranted.
