We lost to a school that had about 16 or 17 suited up players. Although both defenses played lights out, WO-S did just enough to win on offense. Which is good for them. Us? 2 trips in the red zone with NO points to show for it, receivers dropping passes (with the exception of G. Mitchell), offensive linemen that don't know how to block, and finally, 'staff' that couldn't year open a wet paper bag without the help of an Instruction manual. Those guys didn't have depth at all. We threw no screen passes. We lined up in the I formation. ONCE. We Throw a slant pass for a gain of 10 yards, never to go back to it again. We run an option. Play that hadn't worked in 3 years and counting. WO-S got their first first down with 3 mins left in the first half. You should win games when your defense is fired up line that. But once again, our staff finds a way to bungle that up. There's NO reason at all to be shut out at home by a team that has 75% of it's team going both ways. He stings will do great in that district, but they better shore that offense up and get creative, or it'll be an early playoff exit again. Central, Catch the passes for crying out loud and it'll be a lot easier. You may even be able to run the ball decently for a change. At the rate we're going, we'll get the last spot at best. And that's only because our district is so top heavy.
hang in there Soulja..dropped passes and penalties really hurt you last night. Your right about our offense. We have (and we can) pass the ball better. We have to take shots downfield and over the middle or others will just put their guys out in the flat like ya'll did. Your a good team. If I was a coach i'd be concerned about the fact that players are hanging heads with a whole quarter to play. Good luck, yes ya'll have a good enough team to make a playoff appearence. Really liked the speed of your D.
Thanks. I agree with you totally.

Mitchell hasn't improved over the 3 years and neither has the play calling. Defense was outstanding considering the short fields they had to defend. Put Mitchell in the secondary and switch back to the wishbone is the only way Central can win consistantly
Hmm not to say your wrong, but look at the talent Mitchell had his Fresh and Soph year. He had at the very least, 3 good recivers and 2 good backs to get the ball to and take the pressure off him. He was surronded by playmakers. Last season and seems the same this season, he doesnt really have alot of players around him which is rare for a central team. Ive seen the kid play ball and throw. He has all the mechanics to be a great one. Just no one to get the ball to.
SFA85, you are so correct. I said a couple of years ago when they were trying to play sissy ball (spread) that they should just play Vidor's style of offense. Yes I said that seriously. We line up with 2 and 4 receivers but every body knows that our passing isn't a serious threat. If we do have a QB that can accurately get the receivers the ball, they can't catch it. I've watched this kid since he first stepped in his freshman year in a playoff game in Baytown. I was like man he is going to be special. Well he hasn't failed us, the coaching staff at Central has failed him and us. They have not progressed with his development at all. I bet if he had been a Bruin or Panther, he would probably have some decent scholarship offers. Stump worked wonders with what he had and Nelson seems to be doing fine too. Not us. We have another special QB in the pipeline, I guess we'll just waste him away too... Central has more athletes then the other 2 schools in Beaumont hands down in my opinion. But due to coaching, they don't utilize and progress with them in the correct manner. If Central fails to make the playoffs for 2 years in a row, it SHOULD be time for a change at the top with NO holdovers. And stop hiring these guys from here, they are too budy budy with the players. Instead of being like Suggs and Stowers, there to coach football, not make friends. That's the real reason we had playoff runs back then...
Preach, Jaguar!

Very good analysis. I completely agree with how this will go down.
Central will match up with us better than either of our first two opponents. We have not seen a team yet this year, in our games or scrimmages that compare to the speed of the game that Central is going to bring. On the other hand, Central HAS played teams that can bring to the table what we will. Although I think both of those teams are in rebuilding years right now. Had they faced last years PAM or WB and played them that close I would be a whole lot more worried. But, as it stands, you can throw out the records. This game will be close and anyone who thinks other wise is not using very good judgement. I will not be surprised by whichever team wins, and I don't see a blow out either way unless there are turnovers early and one team or the other just gets way down quick and it gets out of hand. I don't see either team shutting the other out either.
Toups Graphics RESULTS WK 2 2012

Ozen was invited to this event after their impressive playoff run last year. Therefore, they accepted. Ozen, go out there and represent! BTW, was Silsbee invited to a big event like this? If they were, would you be AGAINST them going? Take your time in answering. I have all day.

Wow...Ozen going all the way to Dallas for a preseason game...safe travels Panthers, bring home a 20-4A win! Just suit up your top 30 kids, keep the others home so the depth factor is equal and let's play. What other 3A school in the area schedules schools consistently every year that has twice the amount of players we have and has such an outstanding record as we do? Central had better worry more about PN-G than us. AS far as your district, we have already proven we can hang with Vidor and Nederland. Already beat LC-M, and PN-G. I think we have some good pieces to work with. I think after week 1, I'm sure we'll battle for a playoff spot. When you play a team and leave 6 td's and lose by a score,i think you can correct those mistakes. I think we've found a. Emerging playmaker in Garrison Mitchell . I also think that the Memorial fan that says our defense sucks and then backdoors and say that Ozen has a better defense must be smoking. We lost to yall by 3 and yall beat Ozen by a lot more.

Lol. I agree with everything you said... And im glad to hear you decided to marry a Jaguar. We have that in common. Lol
WOS is a 3A Team who actually have 2A #'s... For them to even compete with these 4A teams is impressive. As for the Vidor SCRIMMAGE, there are players who played roles in that PRACTICE that didn't even make VARSITY. Also, remember WOS strength is Field Position, which is often set up through their Defense, Great Special Teams Play, and Return Game. In a SCRIMMAGE there are no RETURNS, no rushing the punter, etc... It is a PRACTICE. I also recall in that PRACTICE, WOS got a pick or a fumble recovery (can't remember) that was blown dead, because it was a SCRIMMAGE.. Lots of backup players got reps, that they wouldn't normally get (for both teams), so I put absolutely no stock in a FINAL SCORE of a SCRIMMAGE. With that being said, I will not predict a score, but I will say this will be a very physical, hard hitting game, it always is. Central is battle tested, and they always play physical. They can match WOS with athletes, but I think a strong edge goes to WOS Coaches in this one. I have attended several Central games, and I can figure out some of the coaches decision making. JMO.. Should be a good one. My wife is a Jaguar & I am a Mustang.. Gon be Interesting.. lol

I find it rather amusing that the fans of 4A teams the the size of Vidor, Nederland, PNG, and Central all like to trash talk about beating a barely 3A school like WOS. My personal opinion is that (most of the time) a 4A school should be able to beat a small 3A school, and a 5A school like West Brook or PA Memorial should be able beat a smaller school like Central. I expect Vidor to beat Bridge City or Silsbee. It wouldn't really surprise me if Nederland or PNG beat WOS. Those bigger schools have way more players and can rotate in players to keep them fresh, while small schools like WOS have quite a few playing both sides of the ball and by the end of the game these kids are worn out. You Central fans keep talking about how good you are and how you are going to run though WOS, even if Central wins the game by the score on the scoreboard, it still won't be much of a victory beating a barely 3A school. Beating WOS does not count in your own district and WOS is not certainly not Ozen, Nederland or Vidor. These are the teams Central has to get past before you fans start trash talking anybody. I think Central is 0-2 right now. BTW, some of you need to check you sig, it is not West-Orange Stark (W-OS), it's West Orange-Stark (WO-S).
Please show me where I or any Central fan stayed that we would 'run through' WO-S... I'll wait..
