82 5A State Champs

Congrats on your big win Dayton! After seeing Waller play last night against Lumberton, let me just say that you guys should have no problem with them. They've got a QB that is very versatile and can run(very well) as well as throw(very well). Their defense was lights out against the L-Train. From what I hear, you guys are playing the best football of the year right now. I just dont think they're gonna be able to stop your offense......but, ya'll are gonna have to shut down their QB as he is the key to their offense. Good Luck in the Regional Finals, Dayton! Represent our area well!

Can you believe the Bruins had 11 players on the first team!!! Awesome! As quiet as it's kept, it looks like WB will have at least eight returning starters on offense, and five or six starters returning on defense for next year. How long till preseason starts? ;D BRUINS GOING TO STATE IN '08!

......well, since our wonderful newspaper, The Beaumont Suprise, doesn't seem to want to print the All District team for our area, I had to go to the Baytown Sun to get this. Thought ya'll might like to know how our Bruins represented the district this year. ;D [Hidden Content]

I'm fine talking about Lumberton Football and all the hooplah that goes with it......since WB lost last weekend (gulp) :'(, it's the only thing remotely interesting to talk about. By the way, can I officially adopt Lumberton for the rest of the season? .........Question, where are we all gonna sit on Friday night? From what I remember, DP's stadium is about the same size as Zaharius stadium (it's been since like 1992 since I've been there-they were in 22-5A at one time).

.....just keep on doing what you've been doing Lumberton, as another poster said. If you get cocky and overconfident, a lesser team will take you down. And dont quit, not until that buzzer sounds in the fourth quarter....just ask West Brook. Our boys thought they had the game in the bag yesterday, with a 33-21 lead halfway through the fourth. The got relaxed and we lost the game 36-33. BAD! I'm going to Rice on Friday night to watch you take down Waller, and I'll be sporting my WB colors.....anybody else from the Brook wanna join me? Go Raiders (NO, I'm not ready for football season to be over yet.....I wanna State Title to be brought to SETX this Christmas!)

I tend to agree with you.........West Brook did alot of the same things that Lumberton is doing, when it won it's only State title in 1982! The L-Train is playing good football right now, and it feels like lady luck has jumped aboard! Good Luck Lumberton......I feel like this might be your year! The year of the L-Train!

The loss today is only that much worse after finding out we'd be playing (9-3)Houston Stratford in the third round. They knocked off Cy-Falls 43-34. They are a very beatable team......but so was Clements! It just wasn't our year to go further. Maybe next year.......Bruins goin' to State in '08!

Well guys, it was a great run and was fun while it lasted. I'll spend the offseason thinking about the "what if's" and the "shouldv'e been's", but a GREAT SEASON nonetheless. We just came up a bit short today. We have an awful lot to look forward to next year.....should be a great one! Love you guys! Congrats on a great season! 82 5A State Champs ;D

well, it still hurts! We were the best team and had the game won, but our suspect pass defense is what won the game for Clements. Now, when is the 21-5A All-District team going to be announced? ;D

.....one more thing. This was definitely a tough loss.....losing to a team that we know we should have beaten and didn't. This is the worst way to lose, IMO.....I would rather get blown out than lose a close game to a team that we had a two score lead on , and couldn't hold onto it! WB should have won the game.....ask anybody that was there!

well, I just got home from the game.....I dont know what to say. We had Clements down 33-21 with like 7 mins left and we cant hold on to the lead. We definitely had our chances to win the game, but couldn't. That Clements team is like a venerial disease, they just wouldn't go away. Congratulations to the Bruins on a fine season.......maybe next year will be our year.

On a somewhat sad note, Humble lost yesterday......so that leaves West Brook as the lone survivor in 21-5A. Let's go represent Bruins!
