while losing the game must have been tough for that kid, it says something about a team and their tradition that a Pro QB for the Cowboys thought enough of him to call him and tell him that 'everything's gonna be OK!' Neat story. Romo is a stand up guy! ;D

correction....the final was Katy 42 Clements 0. This is still, bar none, the best team the Tigers have ever had. I'm glad we didn't have to play them. From what I heard, some of the Clements players were talking trash to the Tiger sidelines before and during the game.....not a good move! This just fueled Katy to post a shutout. They used EIGHT different RB's in the win, and their defense was stellar. I wonder if their DC could be hired to run the Bruin defense next year????For us to win another State Championship, we're gonna have to get ALOT better on the defensive side of the ball.

Katy will roll through SA Madison in the semi's and probably play Abilene in the Finals, and will take care of them with ease to win their first State Title since 2003! Mark my word! Katy is for REAL!

Katy will be facing SA Madison.......who knocked off Smithson Valley 38-35! This will be the second "Madison" named team for Katy this postseason!

I would be inclined to agree with you. Dayton could very well find themselves in a position to win a state championship, if they're not careful! Seen Waller play.....not real impressed. They looked like a ........mediocre 5A team. Dayton by 18!

WOW....that's a neat story. I have read the book and I did not realize that his number had been changed for the movie!

.....along with that, dont forget the other two big men at DE, both 6'5" and 215 lbs...Shane McCardell and Marcus Malbrough. Defense next year has only six returning starters, somewhat of a rebuilding year. I guess we're just gonna have to outscore them next year, as our offense has eight starters coming back! ;D

.....someone told me that there were only 8 varsity players returning next year. Any truth to that?

By saying that then you'd have to give WB some credit, because we dominated the game for three and a half quarters...........BUT they are beatable! And Katy will do just that on Saturday!

nobody was denying the fact that they beat us on third and long and fourth and long-pass defense, hello? All I was trying to say was that it was more than just our secondary that lost us the game. It wasn't just DC's fault, and it wasn't just the play calling. We had every opportunity to put the game away and didn't do it. And YES, had we gotten a first down on that third and three that I spoke of, it would have kept the Ranger offense off of the field......game over. All I was saying was that it was a number of things that could have been done different, and now you want to execute the DB coach for it. Please, it wasn't just HIS fault. You win as a team, and you lose as a team. Remember that. If Stump gets rid of the DB coach, I have to believe it's because he's got someone better in mind!

no need for name-calling there, silly.....I think the point that was trying to be made was the lack of exposure and recognition of the teams still playing. True, Dayton is the ONLY local team still playing, and they deserve to get a little credit........I, for one, dont think our local newspaper does a very good job of bringing the stories that are worthy of printing. They still haven't printed the list of the 21-5A All District team, and we've been gone for a week. Give credit where credit's due, just leave the name calling and bad mouthing to your classmates, OK!

I'm definitely curious to see how this Clements/Katy game comes out. It will let me know how well we would have done against Katy! I can tell you one thing, there's gonna be one hacked off SOB in the west end if Clements beats Katy. It'll just make our loss that much worse. 'Cause Clements was definitely beatable. We should be the ones playing Katy! >

he's probably not going to fare much better with the talent that's over there! Then again, maybe they've got the talent.....maybe it's the coaching!?
