Yes, our pass defense has been our weakness all year, but Stump can usually make the right adjustments to make up for it in the second half. Thank goodness FB Clements seems to be mostly a running team. The run is something we seem to defend really well. What makes you think Christian plays "worried" all the time? He seems to have a good working understanding of the game and how it's played. He was even rated one of the best QB's (#9) in the state. I wouldn't be worried, unless he gets hurt. Even then, we've got a more than capable backup, in David Falgout. Granted, Christian is not the best runner on the team, but he does get the job done. Christian is going to be a leader on this team next year. I dont think he's done a bad job this year. He's not a James Brown or a Chip Ambres, but he does a good job!

.....while I dont think my wife will divorce me, she does think I spend WWAAAYYYYY too much time on the computer on this website! She calls it my 'crack'.......I guess this is alot better than any drug. "What are you doing upstairs? Are you up there on your 'crack?"

.....I'm gonna rescind my previous statement about getting beat come Saturday. After talking to some people who are "in the know", I'm not nearly as worried as I was. I was told some things, in confidence, about this Saturday's game and...........we got this one! If our guys show up to play and can keep the score close, we should pull away in the second half. After all, we are and have been all year, a second half team. They are gonna score some points on us, they aren't 11-0 for nothing. But if we can keep them within a TD in the first half........it should be lights out for them in the second half. Before, I was kinda dreading our game this Saturday, now I cant wait! Go get'em Bruins and play our game!

I hope L-town advances.....if nothing more than to shut up people like C4L and COOG4 EVA....please, gimme a break.......I hate all that trash talking. Grow up and learn to speak proper English! The L-Train is gonna take ya'll to the woodshed.....err, behind the woodshed and send you limpin back to Galveston County with your tail's between your legs! Choo Choo, ALL ABOARD! -
.....it needs to work on more than the defense. How about showing up to the stadium with it's game face on and come out swingin'! > (game face)

we seem to be coming into the game, and then making adjustments based on what the other team is doing.....which is what we're suppose to be doing. But we need to come out aggressive, take control of the game by building a two or three TD lead, and then make the other team make adjustments to what we're doing and keep them guessing. District play is over, and this conservative playcalling is not gonna get us wins in the playoffs. We need to show no mercy. if we can put 50 points on the board against a team, we need to do it........be aggressive! It's all about the "W"'s now! I dont know much about Clements, but I know if we come out flat again against then, we might as well go home before halftime, 'cause we cant keep having to play catchup and expect to win! Be aggressive, Bruins! >

I have to agree with that statement for most of the year, but yesterday our cheerleaders were the most alive I've seen them this year.......and the crowd, still wasn't great, it was better than it's been all year! The farther we get in the playoffs, the fewer teams will be in it, so my thinking is the more fans we will get at our games. As far as the game on Saturday is concerned, I think we can win if our defense can shut down their running game, which shouldn't be a problem. We just have to be prepared for the unexpected plays. Most of these teams are going to be pulling out all the stops in order to stay alive, it almost cost us the game against SoHo. And another thing, forget all this conservative play calling. We need to come out this Saturday with 'guns a blazing' and be aggressive from the get go. We cant afford to get behind every week and then expect to come back and win. As far as the stadium is concerned, 12-15000 sounds good to me, and somewhere near I-10 would be a good location!

I have to ask myself this question........you guys keep saying that we are a true state title contender, but with regards to SoHo's quarterback and our problem with containing hin, do you think a team like SLCarroll, or Katy would have had the same problems with him that we did. Do you think their defense would have allowed 28 points on the board? I say NO! What do teams like Katy and SLC do to prepare for opponents that we're not doing that makes them so much better against their opponents than we are? Granted, we're getting the"W"'s, but there's still alot of skeptic's out there that think we'll be done in two or three playoff games. It's not that these other teams are more athletically talented than we are. Is it coaching? What can we do to better prepare for our opponents that would eliminate any doubt that we are a true title contender? And then execute it on the field.

Weed, I can appreciate your post, BUT in order for us to win another game we are gonna have to play four quarter football......which is something we have yet to do this season. I sincerely hope we can pull off the victory next Saturday and I'm not jumping off the train, but realistically I think it's gonna be tough for us to win!

......yes, I did see alot of Lumberton blue and thanks for coming out and supporting the Bruins. Maybe you're right 09, maybe we can give Clements a better game than we gave SoHo today. If we're gonna do that, we're gonna have to get our pass coverage better. WE GOT NO PASS DEFENSE!!!!!!!! I've been saying it all year. We are not gonna be considered a true state contender until we are able to stop the pass like we stop the run. If Clements runs the ball as much as you say, then we might have a chance......but the minute they throw the ball, we're in trouble. We got lucky today, plain and simple! We're actually gonna have to win a game instead of relying on luck to get us through.
