As I mentioned, I live in Cypress and went to the movie last night and ran into a group people from WOS at Star Cinema. Small world! All were excited about the game and seemed to be great folks. We were talking and they told me they believe WOS would win but had a ton of respect for Silsbee as they have never beat them in the playoffs. Crazy we were all in the same theater to go the movie Queen & Slim which in would recommend if your looking for a good movie.

My grandmother was a school bus driver in Silsbee in the 80s and I remembering going to the playoff games in Huntsville and the Astrodome. The 1988 Silsbee team is still one of my favorite Tiger squads. That team had Randy Mathews QB, Foster at RB, Chris Barnes, Curtis Buckley (49ers), and Shane Gilder (MLB). That team had one of the best defenses in Silsbee history if I recall. I think this was coach Sigler 1st year in Silsbee for basketball.

Aggie how many playoff games to get that far then? I think only one or 2 teams made the playoffs in those days. Great information I didnt know.

Wise knew those game would be loses I'm sure. When you compare Yates to Silsbee it's a joke. A town of 6600 vs a city of 2.1 million. Silsbee winning those 2 titles was incredible when you think that Yates being in 4A as unfair as that is can recruit basketball kids all over the city. I have a question tho, why doesnt Yates have a better football program. They use to be dominate in 5A. I know they made the playoffs a few years ago with like a 8-2 record and got blasted in the 1st round by Stafford who lost by 30 to Silsbee.

WOS is the clear cut favorite as they were last year and in 1998. The kids in Silsbee have played alot of varsity games. I think this is the 4th time in school history Silsbee has made it to the 4th round. 98, 2015, 2018, and 19. Silsbee has a very solid offense. The defense was my concern earlier in the year. Over the past 3 weeks, Silsbee has played solid defense. Hard to shut teams out in the playoffs but Silsbee has given up 13, 13, and 14 points.

Silsbee being the underdog will make it so much sweeter if they win this game.

Silsbee will have to show up and tackle alot better than they did in the 1st meeting. We all know WOS has a good defense and its important for Silsbee to play in front of the chains and not get hit with holding penalties and offsides penalties. If Foster can throw the ball like he did in the 2nd half of the Giddings game, Silsbee will stand more than a chance. I've only seen highlights of WOS but they seem to be balanced in the run and pass.

No I didnt play football, basketball, or baseball in high school🤷🏾‍♂️. Not sure that doesnt qualify me to speak on sports. I have family members who have had Pro Bowl NFL careers, cousins who were recent Tiger Qbs/Willie Ray Smith winners and some standouts at West Brook and Ozen. I've been a guest on sports radio 790 twice this year and 1590am with former K-State QB Mike Bishop and former Texan Arian Foster. I have 2 very close friends who work in the Houston media and we all talk about sports. I have more knowledge that you 2 geezers put together. I know that neither LCM or Lumberton are in the playoffs. I know the last winning season either of you have seen was before Martin Luther King got shot. I also know the sports tradition in Lumberton is to just try not to get hurt. Winning isnt neccessary. It's pointless for Lumberton fans to even have hope these days. Just go to the game to get out the house😂😂😂. If the game is even close that's a bonus. Kid show up knowing the chance of winning is not just slim it's just none. Lumberton has alot of growth and has a decent town. All they growth and no sports wins. Who's moving to your town?
