1. Graduate of Clear Creek 82 I have one son that will be a senior at Crosby and the other son graduated 2012 and is now a NAVY SeaBee
 2. Crosby Cougars Walters twins Qb/Rb Josh Blackburn O/L Chase Nix LB Raelon Singleton WR
 3. Crosby may start slow but they seem to finish big. I have yet to see Crosby play more than 2 quarters of football this year and still finish 7 - 3. If they put together 4 quarters it could be ugly for the opposing team. Crosby 42 Ozen 20
 4. I just want to say I hope the MW kid that was hurt last night isn't a serious injury. He wasn't putting any weight on his right leg & was carried off by the trainers. On another note the Crosby Offense looked alot better than last week. The defense was suspect because of the 3 missing players. The scrimmage portion went to both teams. Crosby won the game simulation 14 - 10. Again looked better than last week on offense. Go get m Coogs
 5. The defense is dominating the offense in practice from what i'm hearing. (thats not easy to do given the talent on the offense.) I hope the Defense dominates the Offense because both sides know the play. Now if the "O" is dominating the "D" then we got problems in Crosby.
 6. I agree CAP. The "D" looked pretty solid. The "O" needs work but it is a new offense being learned by these kids. It can only get better. Crosby scored 2 times St. Thomas 0 during the scrimmage portion. The game portion won Crosby 7 - 0. A great work in progess. GO CROSBY

I do know the twin are good athletes but are they as good as Jakobi Jones and Tre Green who had a abig offensive line in front of them last year. From what I have seen  and heard Crosby o line is a little  smaller then normal which may be a problem, but good technique goes along way. As for the Dayton game it will be a tough fight with the lines going at it. A good learning game for both teams.
I don't know if I would call the line smaller. The right tackle is 6' 4" & the left tackle is 6' 2" now the weight on these 2 tackles is 200lb. but they do alot of pulling & reach blocking.
they do alot of pulling & reach blocking. aka  "Holding".
No different than any other High school team. In order for it to be called holding it has to be called by the refs. It maybe holding in Crosby but I have seen some of the tackling the Dayton Oline does.

And if i remember right Crosby JV vs Dayton last year was very close even with 6 or 7 soph starting on Varsity. I cant remember the score.  I think Dayton and Crosby are very evenly matched.  As for Nederland I think it will be close because it is early in the season but Crosby wins this one.
Dayton JV won 7-0 was a very good game
 10. When I played we had 1 a-days 6AM to 6PM and your right speveto it was all summer. At least it seemed like it.
 11. Crosby lost to Vidor last year. NEW YEAR AS I STATED IN A EARLIER POST. Just having fun guys. Crosby will go 10 - 0 District champs
 12. That was last year. New year, new coach, new attitude. Just wait & see.
 13. Crosby will be just fine. Wait & See. I see it at 5 - 0.
 14.
Coach Murr is an outstanding coach and an even better man. Crosby should've hired him as the HC/AD when they had the chance. Anahuac will be happy with this decision - and his previous coaching record speaks for itself.
I agrree Cap Rock Crosby should have hired Coach Murr. I've had the privilege of knowing the man for about 7 years. Great man & great coach. UHFalcon he wasn't the DC in Crosby. He should of been but wasn't.
 15.
Coach Murr, a graduate of Baytown Sterling, has previous head coaching experience at Alto, where he coached from 2001-04.  While at Alto, he amassed a 34-14 coaching record and led the Yellowjackets to the playoffs 3 of the 4 seasons he was head coach there. He was the defensive coordinator at Crosby before taking the Anahuac position
He is not & never was the DC at Crosby. He was a Defensive position coach. Coach McKeon is the DC at Crosby
 16.
Highly recruited by who. They are about 5"6 150 lbs. They are good ball players but lets dont go overboard. Also looking at the crosby program they showed 47 players and 30 seniors. Crosby has alot to replace.
Don't let the 30 seniors represent what was on the field. Here is what will be replaced  next year. 4 OL, 3 WR, 2 DL, 1 LB, 2 DB
 17.
Does anybody know if Coach Flanigan has been notified about it?  I know he is not at Crosby anymore but that was one of his kids while he was out there.
Yes he has been contacted.
 18. Hey guys you have to have highlights to post highlights. LOL :o
 19. Don't know where this Dayton news got his info but Jacoby Scott & Chase Wells are Seniors.
 20. I'm pretty sure some of the coaches in Crosby will be hired at West Brook. If they are you will be getting  GREAT coaches.
 21.

Great hire by BISD, The Crosby board will soon see they let a good one go.
I believe that myself....
Me too
 22. Great hire for West Brook. This board member if he did call needs to keep his mouth shut. I hope & pray they don't do the same thing to Coach Riordan in a few years because some board members kid doesn't play. If it is the board member I'm thinking about his kid played JV this year & started. My 2 kids have been in Flanigans system since the 7th grade & it has been great. I have one graduating this year & playing in the SETX Allstar game THANKS to Coach Flanigan. AGAIN GREAT HIRE BY WB.

It was the DFW clinic on their screen game. He and his staff spent an extra hour after with us. But clearly not enough time to judge those things. Anyways...how well are the lower levels in Crosby.
Just curious, who is "us"? BTW, not sure how the lower levels are in Crosby but I did get to see the varsity first hand last season as I broadcast their playoff game against Vidor. Varsity had great size and speed (Crosby's receiving corp was unbelievably big and athletic, all of them '6"3 or bigger) but just couldn't understand why they chose to line up in a 3-3-5 defense against Vidor's slot T offense. Vidor just ran through them with no problems, particularly the right side. The more talented team (Crosby) definitely got beat by the harder working team (Vidor).
Yeah they were really good AAW.  ::) Just a few stats from the game Aston - qb - 9-20 for 137 yards the most yards they got was from rushing. They had one receiver that was 6'2 and that was all intimidation seeing as how he had 1 catch for 8 yards and he was being guarded by a 5'7 junior. The leading receiver was 6'0 and he had the bulk of the receiving yards with 79. But i wouldn't call them the more talented team. IMO a real "talented" receiving core was Montgomery's. And i don't see them as the most talented team. They just simply got out coached and out played. IMO the most talented person out on crosby was the two twins and that was all they had. And they weren't as talented as Quirante and Clark
Really?  You're really going to go there?
Yes i'm really going to go there. Did either one of the Walter twins get state honorable mention like Quirante did? Or make every single all star team like Clark did?
I'm pretty sure they will make alot of ALLSTAR teams when they become Seniors. Did pretty well as Sophomores.

Watched a few games after the half & show some talent. The JV level had lots of talent finished 5-1 in district. North Forest game cancelled. Lost to Dayton 7-0. Remember alot of the kids that started on JV played with the Walter twins their Freshmen year. I'm sure a few more would have been on Varsity if not for the Seniors who get to dress out for Varsity. Should be a talented group next year.
