  1. Hey cougtalk it's next Thursday Feb 2nd to meet the new coach. His 1st official day is Feb 1st.
  2. The new coach will officially start Feb 1st but he has been around the field house and school.
  3. Crosby hired their new coach tonight but he can not officially start until February 1st. He told some of the players that he would still be around before Feb 1st. Got to meet him and his family and they seem like really good people. Some of the players talked to him and they seem to like him. He told them he is fired up about coming here and really got their attention when he showed them his state champoinship ring. IMO a great hire but lets see. I know the boys are ready for him.
  4. Sure hope if Crosby hires this coach he brings some defensive guys with him. Offense wasn't a problem with Flannigan, it was on the other side of the ball.
  5. The resignation of Coach Flannigan has clearly hurt a lot of the kids in the program. I my option I wished the school board would make a descion on a coach who ever it may be! That way the kids and coaching staff would know. I just hope the school board doesn't wait until summer.
  6. I see the 20-4A has been announced and was wondering about 19-4A
  7. I never said made them quit or turned them down!
  8. Aaronjam75 you are correct about crosby's potential but are not correct about the soph class. The soph class is loaded! Most of the 1 loss district JV starters was sophomores. Varsity had only 5 sophomores on varsity because over 30 seniors on varsity. The better soph players quit? That's not true either! There was only 3 from the freshman team that did not play this year and 1 will be back after the 1st semester. That's 1 of flannigans downfalls, some kids go thru problems for whatever reason and Flannigan held it against them and wouldn't give them a second chance. I think we all are ready to see who the next coach will be and which of the other Crosby coaches are staying or leaving. I know a few should go on the definsive side!
  9. Coach Stewart was DC at Crosby before he went to dayton
  10. The Crosby superintendent is a football guy. He won a national championship at the school he played, so I'm guessing it'll be a coach from where came from. But we see........
  11. He resigned after the ultimatum he was given. He was given the choice that he could stay the AD and give up coaching or coach this year and resign. For the kids at Crosbys sake I hope they find another good coach to replace him and hopefully a coach that implements discipline because Crosby really lacked it over the past few years! Just look how some of the kids acted after a clearly more disciplined Vidor team beat the pretty bad and hope the new coach teaches them to put the TEAM 1st because that has been very clear that it was all about individuals. Just goes to show what a few bad apples will do.
  12. Some of cougar14's reasons may be true but nothing from this season cost him his job! He accepted his resignation letter in June! Which means he played the season knowing it was his last. In my opinion says what kind of man he really is! He still gave it 100% and never let on that this was it. I'm sure he will find another great community to coach in. It's just to bad Crosby let him go.
