  1. Sorry...it was the actions of the fans and players that made me assume.  I apologize.  I will try not to judge based on actions in the future.  Please provide some criteria by which I should judge going forward.
  2. Thug was definitely the correct word to use describing the actions of a couple of Silsbee players, as well as some Silsbee fans. #1 -- It was not good enough for them to win, they felt the need to come across the court to celebrate in the faces of fans, and to take their shirts off, put up their fists (lick their thumbs no less), as if they wanted to fight. #2 -- This behavior went on the entire game.  After a made shot, their players would clap in the face of HJ players, or scream in their face, or holler at the fans. More than anything I lost a ton of respect for the Silsbee coaching staff.  I understand that you can only control how a high school athlete reacts to a certain extent, but the easy solution is to yank the kid from the game.  Hopefully after playing against HJ a few more teams, this coach and these players from Silsbee will learn some class.  Act like you've been there before.
  3. In a hypothetical mathcup between HJ and Silsbee in the Regional Finals, do you think that the HJ Forwards and Centers will be more adept at handling the Silsbee bigs after dealing with that very aggressive monster from Cleveland?  He had his way most of the game, and physically whipped most of HJ's bigger guys all night.  I think the experience, and the modicum of success they had as the game wore on may serve them well as they are sure to be outsized again if they continue to advance. What say you?
  4. #40 for Cleveland didn't wait until next Fall to start playing football.  He was camped out in the paint, and physically beating everyone who attempted to guard him all night.  I'm not one to jump on officiating, but it was pretty atrocious coming out of halftime.  They were letting HJ get murdered.   Just before the end of the 3rd, things seemed to be a little more under control.  Then as HJ pulled away I think Cleveland finally showed their true colors.  #12, who was praised higher up in this thread, was completely out of line.  He started shoving after plays, and at one point there was an all out form tackle that wasn't called.  One Cleveland player actually just took the ball out of the hands of an HJ player attempting to in-bound the ball.  Point is, the refs lost control, and when things got chippy on the court, it spilled over to the fans. Nothing happened inside the gym (that I saw), but a few idiots outside the gym (30 somethings, not kids) got into a freaking fist fight over a HS basketball game.  I was as fired up as anyone during the game, but these folks need to know when to draw the line.   (Sidenote:  Baytown's finest and a Lee security job were completely useless in attempting to break the fight up)
