1. Hancock was our DC when Dayton was usually top 10 defensively in the state. Or was he?
2. Just stop it please. Don't use some silly comparison of Stewarts and Hancocks first 5 years. If you honestly believe they are even in the same conversation as far as head coaches go then you know very little about coaching. Stats will only do so much. You of all people should know that.
3. There are some positional coaches I would really like to see stay and one that's just east of Dayton I would like to see back.
4. Worst kept secret in Dayton. Lol
5. They could trade off teams and beat every body. LT's first title came against Highland Park in overtime I believe. Tells me HP was most likely the second best team on the state. 2 of LT's titles came after they beat Tivy with JM. Tivy most likely wins state 2 years if not for LT. I'm just stating facts. In our classification nobody has won a title since 06 and probably won't this year. Crosby has a nice team and would fight for 3rd or 4th in CP's district. It's different ball in the DFW and Austin area and if you don't think so nothing I can say will change your mind.
6. I just don't see any real changes in our classification in the near future. Austin area and DFW will continue to dominant with money coaching and yes talent. My argument is the first 2 are much more important.
7. That is actually me not sure why it shows Stattrax
8. I think any kid who gets an FCS offer is still a very high caliber player.
9. I was referring to their dominance in district play not playoff runs. I am a little shocked that Nederland has put out more D1 talent over the last 10 years than all the teams in your district combined. Why do you think that is. Is there no talent in the beaumont area or are the kids not being promoted and coached up.
10. Nederland consistently beats teams with a lot more D1 talent than they have. They do it with coaching and the community and kids all buy in. Whaley projects a lot better at the college level that's why he gets all the FBS offers and rightly so but IMO Kraus is a better high school player which is all that matters for winning at the high school level.
11. Dang man we haven't finished better than 3rd or 4th the last 3 years. Don't take our spot. Lol.
12. There hasn't been a team in our classification win a title since 06 when LM won I believe. Lamar Consoladated in 07 but I don't think they were in our region. Why? Tons of talent in region 3. If it's not money and coaching wouldn't we scrape one out every now and then. The only reason I keep bringing up Aledo is because they keep winning. Let's leave them out though. This year if no team from out region wins a title which is very probable that would make 9 years and counting and if you look at who keeps winning a vast majority of time it's teams with money and coaching. Yes they have talent but my argument is they have talent because of the 2 things I mentioned. Guess we will see come December. I will wager that the teams that walk away with rings in our classification will be wealthy well coached and will not be the 2 teams with a ton of D1 talent. Otherwise my SOC pick of last year would of been spot on.
13. Aledo has continued to win without JG. It's just funny how teams with money and coaching seem to have talent. I'm saying BH has one of those things and with the right coach I think you would start to see talent. I think you will see more teams deep in the playoffs and playing for titles that as you would say look more demographically like BH than Crosby or Dayton. Usually those schools will have money coaching and great academics. Not usually the most FBS talent. Believe me when Dayton played LT in 2007 and I saw LT warming up at Kyle Field I wasn't the least worried. Then the game started and I realized real quick we were way in over our head even with a ton of talent.
14. I'm asking you what kind of student? CP who will most likely win state in our classification has excellent academics and great athletics. Or maybe Aledo who once again is a favorite to win state and has excellent academics and athletics. I don't think you have to have the most D1 players to have a great program at the high school level. If that's the case then Crosby will beat CP hands down.
15. What's the right type of student athlete?
16. BH is like a lower enrollment Friendswood and they seem to drum up plenty of athletes and are very competitive. Get a good coach with good participation and BH will be fine. On another note damn Liltex I didn't realize Dayton D had given up that many points the last 3 years. What happened to the Dayton D everyone was scared of.
17. Have a dad at the Hill who played 8 years in the NFL. Also I know a ton of parents and kids from BH and they have plenty of talent to be successful. Problem is most don't play football.
18. Most schools that do well in high school football have one thing in common and it's not the color of their skin.
19. So true. Kids that are coached up run good routes and have good hands. Knowing assignments on defense pursuit angles tackling. So much a good coach can do and what usually happens is you find out there are some really good players just didn't know it because of poor coaching or scheme. I forget what Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith ran. Pretty sure closer to 4.6 than 4.4. They were both descent I guess.
20. Dayton might have one legit 4.4 guy. You don't have to run a 4.4 to have an effective offense. It's funny how all these schools have 4.4 kids everywhere then you watch a NFL combine and realize not so many 4.4 guys.
21. kinda like Green Bay 2 weeks earlier. Still can't believe GB chocked that game away.
22. young man made a great play and could not believe he held onto the ball.
23. Great game and the young man that made the pick to end the game handled the questions after the game with a ton of class. Sherman is a great corner but had he ended the game with an int I wouldn't expect the same class from him after the game. Oh yeah if beast mode leaves Seattle their in trouble. Wilson is a nice qb but Lynch is the most important offensive player on that team and it's not even close.
24.
Not sure at all what you mean?
the post on this site after last years scrimmage. Many Ned posters were not as level headed as you.
25.
I think the biggest difference was Nederland was resting as in NOT PLAYING a down a lot of their starters.  I don't remember the list, but Nederland probably scrimmaged Dayton with no less than 7-8 starters resting. That's the main reason no one in Nederland panicked, we knew the deal.  May have been the case for Dayton last Friday.
maybe you didn't panick but you really need to go back and read the post.
