  1. Tuition, Nuns, and Plaid skirts..
  2. back in the day, when we had to walk to school, up hill, in the snow, we did not have a youth football program in the Sour Lake area.  Don't know about Kountze.  I hear they now have a youth football program in place and kids are starting to play at a younger age.  In the past, we did not play team football until Jr.High.  In basketball, we have had a HUGE Little Dribblers program that has created the Basketball Empire we have in Sour Lake. I would not be suprised to see the HJ Football team make a run at the playoffs in the next 5-8 years.  Maybe sooner, just don't know when youth football started.
  3. it appears someone has lots of free time on his hands.
  4. this call must have been made during the donkey ball game in Nome. I'm guessing they still play that.
  5. Confidence? Death, taxes, and a buffett losing money when Lazeek and I walk in..
  6. C'mon dogs, we have already been thru all of this.  Each year the same thing is said "Cleveland will beat HJ"  and each year the outcome is the same.  I would like to play a new team in the playoffs.  It is getting old beating Cleveland and Navasota every year.  When we win district this year  :o, we will let Silsbee take on Cleveland.  i have said it before and will continue to say it, Cleveland is more athletic.  They lack discipline beat themselves every year. Maybe we can play Nederland in the playoff warm up game.  I wonder if Coach English would take that game?  It could be hard on a team to start the playoffs after a loss.
  7. No doubt HF won't make the playoffs this year.  i was reffering to the 2012/13/14 run to the state title.  You are right LAZ, sooner or later the prediction will come true.  You will never beat me in a foot race and i will never beat you in golf, but that is because we are in different leagues.  But if HJ plays Cleveland 100 times, i would guess Cleveland would win once.
  8. No offense BD, but that is what everyone has said the last two years.  Yet HJ finds a way to win and Cleveland finds a way to choke, self destruct, beat themselves...whatever the case may be, they just can't find a way to not beat themselves.  It is never "HJ wins"  it is always "Cleveland chokes" so i will stick with that theme. You're not going to bite on the HF portion of the post?
  9. Oh well.  Thanks AAW, i was not aware Navasota was realigned.  Good for them, they were tired of seeing HJ.  The 2nd biggest problem Cleveland has is they have to play Silsbee or HJ.  It never seems to end to well for Cleveland when that happens.  Once HF becomes the powerhouse they are projected to play, Cleveland may have a chance to advance to the Area round.
  10. being the "homer" that i am, i will take HJ.  Cleveland is by for more athletic, but lack discipline.  they shot themselves in the foot last year (and in the past) and will do it again.  Once HJ beats the first step child, Cleveland, they will move on and beat their second step child, Navasota, and move on to Regionals.  They will play Silsbee in the finals, assuming Silsbee makes it to the finals.
  11. Fans like Nash are probably a reason why some don't like HJ.  I made the prediction, as did other HJ followers, that Silsbee would beat HJ. So what? I am inclined to think that if WOS pulled off the upset tonight, Dog would have better class.

  16. Badsanta..i thought you have been around SETX for a while?? Your opinion is your opinion and i won't argue it, but there has never been a better player out of HJ than Rocky Rocquemore.  No offense to K Spears.
  17. agreed. first class move.  i'm sure his family and classmates appreciated the gesture.
  18. All you guys acting like Big Brother.  Relax, maybe BS is just trying to find something creative to say or another way to keep poking the side of the readers in order to keep the thread going.

  20. Badsanta is missing the point and it is obvious he is not reading the responses.  Yes, i agreed that YATES ran up the score.  I disagree that Kountze ran up the score.  It is in the way the games were played.  YATES continued to press the entire game.  why? was it needed?.  Kountze dropped back into a 2-3 zone. Don't be crazy.  Let's just say your kid (anyones kid) rides the pine all year.  His team is up big time and he gets the chance to play.  do you really think the kid isnt going to try to score?  c'mon.  The coach can call the plays, the defense, tell them to slow it down...but if a bad team makes a bad pass and the kid has a chance at a lay up, do you really think he is going to pull up and set up the four corner offense?  HECK NO>
  21. company IT is killing me.  LAZEEK, can you broadcast and update scores at the same time??? Multi task!! i bet if i needed a quote on some flooring right now, you could get it done.

Not doubting that he is good, but how can you say that he is NOT NEEDED???     Come on, stall him out Lazeek!  [/quote]  LAZEEK,  why didnt you mention the 3rd grader Sour Lake has that is 4'2,  can dribble behind his back, between his legs and can pick his nose like nobody's business.  Varsity could use him, but they don't have a small enough jersey for him. 8)
  23. I agree with Nash.  HJ was outmanned and Cleveland was by far more atheletic.  It came down to lack of discipline and coaching on behalf of Cleveland.  HJ would make a run and Cleveland would get frustrated and make stupid mistakes.  Hopefully they learn from that and improve in those areas.  If so, they will be a tough team to beat.
