  1. I think we have until Monday night at the very latest to get the last game played---if this keeps up I don't know the rule
  2. I guess our secret is out---man has been trying to control the weather for centuries and we have succeeded in Dayton-- Goose you are a moron---how in the world is it our favor to play 3 games in 3 days when the other teams do not have to do so?
  3. Face it DickV this has nothing to do with football--you are a basketball man and that is all this is about
  4. The short answer is so that a coach can evaluate the younger talent and have time to adjust accordingly---why else?
  5. What in the world are you talking about??????
  6. If the football coach thinks it will help then more power to him
  7. I would like to see the two coaches agree to pick up where we left off--no sense in replaying a tie game anyway and maybe both teams could get their pitchers some rest for possible post season action
  8. Will it resume or start over? not sure
  9. BH and KP are pretty good. I think Crosby has the potential to be very good but they have underperformed IMHO.
  10. 24-5 ? Did Dugat and Greene play ? ;D NF is starting to score a few runs Kolarik started and gave up 5 runs on 2 BBs,1 triple, and 2 HRs--tough outing and maybe a learning experience he went 1/3 inning-- Walters came in and pitched 3 2/3s scoreless innings 9Ks then Grote finished last 2 innings one hit and no runs
  11. You have to win 1 game at a time. You can not look to the next game. He is there best chance to win What are you going to do, pitch him every game? You do have to take 1 win at a time, but you have to use more than 1 pitcher. I did say he is there best chance to win, but he threw once against them already. I would have given them a different look and then maybe bring him in to close last night. But they couldn't hit Crosby's pitching last night either. I think that would have been a better plan. I would have preferred to see Smesny pitch the BH game but it is water under the bridge now. Dayton bats have gone silent for two games in a row after hitting pretty well. I know a lot has to do with the quality of pitching but I am seeing a lot of undisciplined batters---and that will not cut it.
  12. He stood straight up and ducked his head just like he is supposed to do---but on to the game: Crosby played error free ball and Dayton did not 4 errors and you can't win giving up 4 outs instead of three. I think the key in this game was the Crosby batters' discipline at the plate. The home umpire was consistently calling a very tight strike zone. Dayton was swinging at pitches that we should have let go by. The Crosby batters were more disciplined and teed off on the meat pitches. Crosby was the better team.
  13. Daytons pitcher will not intentionally throw at anyone
  14. The board does have the right to accept or reject any candidate. That is their job just as it is the custodians job to clean---like it or not DickyV that is part of the process. Absolutely, it IS their right, but what is the reason here? Savaet went 14-2, and held up the program in the absence of a legend. He is a great person, a good coach, and has paid his dues IN BISD!...WHY would the board exercise that right in THIS situation? PERSONAL AXES TO GRIND. UNPROFESSIONAL. He may be the perfect choice and I do not know their reasons but I would hope they are not personal in nature. I would say that they are called "trustees" for a reason and any board that just rubber stamps the administration should disband itself and go home.
  15. While sometimes I disagree with you I am certainly not offended by anything that you have posted. I am sure that I offend quite a few folks and I am not going anywhere---you should not either

  17. Frank Smesny signed a National Letter of Intent today to play baseball for Coach Jeff Livin at Angelina Junior College. This is where he wanted to go from the start and the entire family is very proud. Coach Livin is one of the finest pitching coaches anywhere and he will help Frank tremendously with velocity and control. A lot of local talent is currently on the roster including: Thamm, Berrera, Padgett--BH Rowell, Dugas--LCM Arnold--Huffman Allison--Central I am sure there are some that I missed but it is good to see local boys moving on.
  18. That is an incredible performance!
  19. I agree. It was pretty clear in the 2nd inning Smesny was not sharp but the coach had his reasons. I was not in his shoes and it was not my call.
  20. Smesny avgs 1.5 hit batters per game--most are curve balls---last night was an exception in that most were fast balls--if memory is correct there were three hit Crosby batters with all three being breaking pitches It does bring up a good question though: What is the average number of hit batters per game? It seems we have 2 or 3 that get hit each game--in fact Smesny was hit twice in the Crosby game himself.
  21. Smesnys velocity was hi 80's but location was the problem--officially 6 hit batters and the HR was a change-up left up. The batter hit it perfectly. The big story was Butler. He gave up only two hits both to Cameron Crapo. Hats off to GCM they played a great game.
  22. We did not play great but we got the win. That's all that matters A sign of a good team is just that---you do not play your best but still get the win---congrats BH
  23. No thanks, I'll pass. Wouldn't do much good any way. Good. We were thinking we would not get another shot at him. Be careful what you wish for--Frank has corrected a minor mechanical problem and is throwing much harder now. He only threw 76 pitches in a short game Thursday so you would have gotten him anyway. Walters is ready as well just in case Smesny stumbles.
