I watched the entire game too.  They played a great first period, then Liberty laid an egg after the first.  The BH team went on a run and got it close by the end of the first.  After that, Liberty went ICE COLD, and ended up down by about 19 at the half.  They were down by more than 30 with 3-4 minutes left in the 3rd!!  BH fans had some idiots early on when they were down, then of course, after BH went on their first big run, the Liberty fans turned into complete buffoons!  Ridiculous!!  As for the refs, um, yeah, right.  They were the reason Liberty LOST BY 35 POINTS?!?!  It obviously had nothing to do with the 40+ missed shots (of which 20+ were put-backs or easy lay-ups), or the 30+ turnovers (of which 12-15 were IN THE BACKCOURT).  Oh, and #10 was EJECTED by the officials for throwing an elbow and hitting the BH player in the eye.

Liberty lost their composure, played 3 quarters of CRAP basketball, and now they want to whine and cry about the refs costing them the game, which again, they lost by 35 POINTS!!!  I am a Liberty guy, and they stunk it up tonight, plain and simple.  Plus, it's hard not to mention the truly classy behavior of the players on the way out to their bus and driving away after the game, yelling and cursing at BH fans and other spectators.  Way to represent!  NOT!

My opinion.....hustle is usually rewarded.......BH got alot of points on rebound and put backs with a foul for a 3 point play. Some ticky tack fouls both ways but not a 30 point difference
yes, hustle is rewarded, and Coach Woods does a great job with the players conditioning and hustle. Of all Liberty teams i've watched in the last few years, this team hustles the most, and its really sad to see a group of kids deprived of a basketball game due to poor referees. Call it how you want it eagle you can say im just jealous, but man to man Liberty had the better atheletes and the most skill, Barbers Hill may have been better at the free throw line but idk because liberty wasnt put their all night and bh stayed on the line we were up in the begining and our players are very well conditioned so they didnt just fall apart the refs and sure some hustle by the bh players and some good plays in the paint won this game but i believe liberty was the better team
You have your opinion......That is great.....we all have one. The better team won pure and simple. I will not change your opinion.....I know that. I never questioned the kids conditioning or the coaching. I just think it is silly to say the refs let BH win when it was so lopsided. The only thing more sad than this is the 2 fans behavior when being asked to leave.

Good game BH......Keep up the hard work......Good luck Liberty in your district........

    So liberty lost?
No....they took a beating......BH was up by 30 in the 4th and the first 2 Liberty fans that were asked to leave walked out shooting the finger to the BH crowd.....nice job.
liberty was pounding bh in the 1st till the refs put on there white and blue jerseys and went to work and correction the first fan went out shooting the finger he was wrongly removed the 2nd did not say anything
He did not say anything until he got between the stands and the door.....then he mad an A$$ out of himself like the first. Liberty was up 8 in the first few minutes. The refs did not win that one. Please do not do you team that disservice.

Manvel is a very good team but the "dirty play" is uncalled for. JMO
Very well said. I know I may stir the pot here but the countless number of Manvel players taunting of our players, fans, cheerleaders and Indianettes all showed major lack of character and sportsmanship. I even saw them taunting Faircloth himself. With the most unbiased perspective as posibble I'd have to say too that they are the most unsportsmanlike team Ive ever seen play. That is a DIRECT reflection of their coaching AND parenting. If I saw my son talking trash to the other teams cheerleaders or coaches...heck, even running his mouth to the other players he would be in for a rude awakening when he got home. But then again...some people have class. Just saying.

By the way...you can't really throw the entire Manvel team under the bus. Number 5 I think it was showed good sportsmanship after the game. We all know how upset DJ gets and after the game he just walked off the field by himself. Number 5 on Manvels team chased him all the way across the field and grabbed him and patted him on the back and told him good game. It was a very nervous moment to watch because we all know how emotional DJ gets but it went well. Anyway Kudos to number 5 from manvel...It was about the only act of good sportmanship I witnessed all night from that side.

Now...what a staging for a REMATCH!!!! INSTANT RIVALRY!!!! Now there is blood and BAD blood at that...I can't wait for Round 2.

    HARD FOUGHT GAME.
WOW......completely unbiased. Now parenting is being called into it. Grown men on here laughing and demeaning the Manvel band. What about #33 and #36 on PNG? Is their parents to blame for their bad behavior on the field?

got down on their level with all the PFs that we got then, the 2 back to back that cost 30 yards and a TD.

old eagle ill still disagree with u on DJ, ive met the young man, he met with my sons team PNGYFA senior team and several other teams that were out there , the only different things for him to learn is to control his temper, he plays with a chip on his shoulder and i try to get my son to hit like him and play with that same intensity.
NewIndian......I agree with you.......Intensity is a key. All I am saying is people on other teams know their kids, think they are great people. You say he is a great kid then so be it.....he is a great kid. Can't kids on other teams play with a chip on their shoulder and be intense? It is about perception from what we see in the stands. PNG fans saw head butts.....who knows what was said before it took place. Could have been a racial slur, saying you suc#, we do not know. The heat of the battle makes good kids do crazy things.

I agree, PNG won't be squat, the same with everyone else except Livingston.

BH will have 22 or 23 returning.  That's number depends on how much effort Stewart puts forth to recruit Townley away from BH (watch what happens here folks).  Denny (Freshman starting QB) will be returning as a Sophmore and be a stud if he stays healthy.  Got some real talent moving up to fill bench spots and a starting spot here and there.  The lines should be loaded again.  We will win district next year and get past the area round.
I am really curious to see what happens with Townley. I know he was looking at the end of the summer last year. This will be interesting unless he wants to stay and play baseball for Denny.
  7. FatMaverick.......all other posters.......wish I could sit here and jaw more but I have to go build a fence. I hope I do not get a penalty for hitting the nails too hard........ ;D

In all seriousness......The day before Thanksgiving I went to visit an old school friend at MD Anderson. As I left and walked down the hall I was really struck with just how lucky most of us are. We all jab and argue and poke fun even get mad because our team is no longer in the hunt. I saw kids and adults alike that were hoping to see a new year. Just some perspective. I get upset like anyone.......but in the end it is just a game played by 16 to 18 year old kids.

I agree, you're going to have "bad apples" with every fan base.  Tonight, however, the taunting and "dirtiness" of the Manvel players, coaches, and fans went way overboard.  Not being a sore loser, as many will say, but I was there, I saw it and as you can see, several other posters feel the same way.  I was texting while at the game, saw a lot of the unneccesary hits in the head, taunting, etc. that were never called by the refs.  This is to be expected, however, not to the extreme that Manvel was carrying it.  The Manvel coach stayed on the field forever, whining and crying to the refs and was acting like a 2 year old. I agree, Manvel has a lot of good athletes, however, I think thier immature behavior is going to do them in.  Best of luck to LaMarque......pulling for you in your victory over Manvel.  Just watch your back...the cheap shots will be in abundance from this Manvel team. End of discussion.
I was there also. Both coaching staffs were on the field excessively. The only time I saw Manvel head coach talk to the ref for an extended period of time he was just getting an explaination of a call that happened on the PNG sideline (the same as PNG coach getting a visit to explain why #36 had been ejected).

I spent a little time on both sides. Both sides had their jerks (small %) and both sides had their great fans (large %).

I did not like the play of #33 when PNG beat BH. I said so on this board and was roasted for it. He is fired up, he is a fierce competitor, he is a great kid etc.......
but now it is different because it happened to you.

It was a good game by 2 good teams that coming out of halftime could have gone either way.

I hope that wasn't someones house burning last night that you could smell half of the game

Safety. Two TD's. Two 2 point conversions. Congrats to Manvel. For all their talent they are the dirtiest team I have ever seen. I am not sure how Manvel can have two players get penalized for punches to the head of our players and Padia gets ejected for protecting himself. Also Thompson gets a personal foul for pumping his fists while #17 taunted the ENTIRE game. A whole lot of talk for a player who made one catch. Like I said lots of talent, just hate seeing such bad attitudes and poor sportsmanship.
And for PNG, there was no bad attitude and poor sportmanship? It kinda went both ways.
