I'm just sick of seeing this group of athletes being wasted.

They could have scored 21 points just by calling a Hail Mary every play for crying out loud.

They used to tell Richardson to go deep and chunk it to him in double coverage all the time when he was a sophomore...worked more times than  not.

Certainly would have worked with Landry and Richardson tonight.  The one time Landry went deep, he was running wide open 5 yards behind everyone.  Landry and Richardson are both taller, faster, quicker and can jump higher than anyone in BH's secondary.

They should be testing them every other play.

Instead they try to get into a game of execution.  Going to get drilled by BH if you try to out-execute them.  Lee just can't execute a dink and dunk, precision passing offense.  Don't have the discipline to do it without making a mistake.

It's like they have a couple of Randy Mosses, but they want them to run Wayne Chrebet routes.

Obviously not as talented as Randy Moss, but it's an analogy.
Just send them deep man.  Get down the field and I'll chunk it as far as I can and you go and outjump and outrun that guy covering you because you are 5 inches taller and have about 10 inches on him in vertical leap.

Quit all the punting too.  You are probably netting 15 yards a punt this year.  You can't stop anyone from going 65 yards any more than you can 50.  I almost feel like he thinks so far inside the box that he doesn't realize that he can go for it on 4th.  Someone needs to mention it to him that it is an option, maybe it hasn't dawned on him.  If he actually considers it and decides not to, that's even worse.  No excuse for not going for it at the 50 on 4th and 2 with this abomination of a defense.

Panama.....I feel your pain. I graduated from Lee back in the early 80's.......just not the same school in any fashion. I have gone on record saying I do not think Lee will even exist in 5 or 6 years. Sad to say but I believe it. A lot of history and tradition down the tubes.

As for this years team, good athletes that are being let down by bad coaching.....or lack of coaching....take your pick.

  2. I am reminded of a quote from Bob Knight when he was at Indiana. His Hoosiers were down 6 with a minute to go in the NCAA tournament against LSU. It was something like this....."We were struggling and I thought all hope was lost and I looked at their bench and saw Dale Brown was coaching......It was then I knew we still had a chance".

I think you could substitute Sedberry in for Dale Brown.

    That said......

    BH - 32
    BL - 18

That hurts me a little because Lee is where I graduated from
  3. I follow the results of a few teams...
I graduated from Baytown Lee......back when Baytown shutdown for The Game
My oldest graduated from West Hardin and I make a few of their games every year
My youngest is at BH so we go there most of the games

Out of all of them.....I love those 1A games

    Exactly.
Which was why I stressed twice that Lee may go winless again.
Heck, Dallas Skyline seems to have 10+ guys a year get scholarships to major schools and they never make any noise in the playoffs.

I was even surprised at how the heck Lee won the 400 relay at district.  They were about two seconds slower than they usually are.  This district is just not that athletic as a whole.  Well coached football teams at times, but not much speed.

The UH guy must be a disgruntled Sterling fan or something, not sure.
This group of skill position players is as good as most that Olin ever had.  May not have the pure speed, but they have good height, jumping ability and ball skills.  They just don't execute at anywhere near the Olin level.  They don't execute as well as most Pee-Wee league teams actually.  If Olin were still coach, I would be as pumped or this year as I have been in years.  As it is, I just hope they win a game or two.

I agree Panama.......I went to Lee years and years ago. I live in BH now but still watch a game or 2. I was not an Olin fan at all.

I hate to see Lee reduced to what it is tho.

Huffman is going to need as many last second move ins as they can get, IMO a guy who lost the QB spot at Barbers hill who scored 1 touchdown all season last year isn't much of a threat. The guy Huffman already has seems better then this guy.

They will use this guy......he lost the QB position in a package deal. It is just not a system for him. The spread is where he needs to play.

Hummmm??? Maybe Huffman will beat us in the playoffs this year instead of Coldspring. :D 8)....come on BH fans who's the backup?
    [/quote]

Actually, one of the probable reasons for Townley transferring is that Kaleb Denny had been tabbed as the starting QB at BH.

    Bingo.

    Exactly......he is not a wishbone/flexbone QB.......Huffman is getting a good one.
