wish i could attend this one but we have to play some team of a bunch of puppies in PA next Friday, i think their name is La Portia or La Porte. ;D
I want to go too, but I don't like missing my Brenham games, even if we are only playing Caney Creek. Maybe..... Who knows? First we need to take care of Huntsville and all 5 of their QB's tomorrow to win district out right. If that happens, I guess I'll have a decision to make next Friday! -
Until the Dayt/SC thread gets posted I'll go ahead and put it out there ,then again on the thread.I'm gonna bet the 1st poster (only 1)who responds to this Bet=Dayt loses to SC I'll donate $100 on behalf of Justin the injured kid from Brenham.Dayt wins you (bet taker) do the same.I'll deliver @ the Hamb depot Preview Show the following week-OK who's got some game now for a good cause.
Liltex.... That's a great idea. You or anybody else that is interested in helping Justin out, can make a donation at any Wells Fargo in the nation from what I've heard. I'll check to make sure, but if not, we'll figure it out. Y'all just let me know. Info can be found at Foundraiser For Justin Davis facebook page. JD is still recovering as the process will take a very long time, as i'm sure you can imagine. He is finally able to attend the games, and even won HC king the other week. He is in therapy and bandages after having 3 brain surgeries, but with his heart, the surgeons and doctors efforts & our prayers and generation donations, he is on the path to recovery. Thanks to all that have and continue to pray and support this young man. God bless! Now for my take on the game.... SC looked like 2 different teams. In the first half, they looked far more talented than BH. Sharp demonstrated some great skill at the QB position. He sold the play fake well, and had the speed and moxy to move up in the pocket when he was blitzed. He had plenty of zip on his passes too. I'm assuming the play calling was limited, due to next weeks show down, but you could tell that kid is the stud. He will be ridiculously good next year when he's a senior. The HB did well too. He was very shifty and explosive through holes. On defense, Allen was the strong point. He led the speedy SC defense. In the second half BH played better, while it seemed like SC had shifted into cruise control. Too bad that Denny couldn't play, cuz it would have made things more interesting. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs!

The #1 19 4A seed would have a much easier road to the regional final than the #2.
Not too sure about that. Whoever gets Georgetown in the second round is in for a fight. When thinking of a nuetral sight between the Houston and Austin area, one main venue comes to mind. ;) It could possibly be a show down at Cub Stadium. ;D
I know it's worse in 5a but here's another one of my stats. Last two years in 5a Georgetown was 7-13, now they somehow make the 4a cutoff and start punishing people. Three largest shcools in the region Summer Creek, Georgetown, and Dawson are all undefeated and have over 2000 kids.
Last year is done though. It's like me saying Brenham is a top team in the state. We were the past few years, but kids graduate. Georgetown is pretty darn good this year.
None of Dawson's kids graduate, hard for them to lose a game in 4a? The last 5 years Travis won state in 4a none of their players graduated? Manvel didn't have an advantage on Dayton last year? If coaching is relatively equal those 6 or 700 extra kids make a big difference. Brenham does have good talent, my cousin told me Brown is already the third best tackle on the team as a true freshman. Even though he was rated second I thought he was the best d-tackle in the country after watching him at the All-America game. Let's be honest though, Brenham gets a big advantage with the district y'all play in and you always go D2. Only two team you have to worry about on the schedule most years are Huntsville and Montgomery. I think if y'all played down here that record wouldn't look so pristine.
Dawson and Manvel are just full of talent. Who cares how big they are though? So what, if they are deeper than we are. We can play with and occasionally beat both of them. If you don't believe me, ask songone. it looks pretty even when we scrimmage every year. As for LT.... $ = $ucce$$, and they have a lot of both. Brown was the nation's #2 DT, but during the all-American game practices he had already passed Goldsmith. After it was all said and down, he was eventually ranked #1. They showed the practices on ESPNU. As far as our district goes, we don't just win din district games. In the last 4 years were 40-6 all together. That's district, non-district & playoffs combined. I'd say we do well no matter who we play. TAPPS 4AD2 to 5A, we beat more than 90% of the teams we play. BTW, we go D2 cuz we have to. Heck, we have 1,436 kids, and are the eighth biggest of the nine schools in 18-4A.
Would you rather play Vidor, Georgetown AP #15, and Friendswood OR Nederland ap#6, Montgomery, and Dawson ap#1? It seems like the chances of making a longer run would be from the #1 spot in 19-4A.
The second one.... Y'all have seen Nederland, Montgomery is down this year (not sure they get by Connally though) and Dawson is overrated (they might be out by then.). Looking at the rankings I see what your saying though.

It's still up in the air, but yes if I had to bet the farm on it, I think I'd go with SC. Prove me wrong! ;)
Well unfornately I won't be playing in that game otherwise there would be heck to pay! So I can't prove you wrong but maybe the Broncos can. ;D Oh and my pick in the D2 bracket is Texas City. :P
I picked.... D1:Georgetown D2: Texas City (Texas City and Nederland are the 2 teams we always seem to have trouble with.
THANKS SO MUCH!!! I was about to do this this weekend!
I think I got it right. Let me know if anything is out of place and I'll switch it. Just wanted to give everbody an idea of what path they have in front of them. I'm aware that some games, such as SC/Dayton & Waller/MW could change things.
