  1. 20 carries for 310 and five touchdowns. Kid is definitely legit but PNG tackling efforts were pretty poor and they had no speed to catch him once he got to the second level. Just a different quality of athlete produced in Angleton than PNG.

This is the hidden content, please

You are correct, we do produce a different type of athlete. For that matter we produce a different type of young man and woman. We produce the type that work hard on and off the filed. We instill Honor, Pride, and Tradition; an attribute most envy. We produce successful moms and dads, that regardless of where life takes them, never forget where they come from and who came before them. We produce the type of student that doesn't define who they are by playing a high school sport or any other extra curricular activity. We make sure every young man and woman that walks the halls of PN-G understand that integrity is what you do when no one is watching.

So Cougar 14.2, we are a bit different. I'll wear that badge with Honor, Pride, and Tradition any day of the week.

  2. I'll say it.....he's playing the wrong position. He might be playing the right position for H.S. football, but he's gonna be a stud WR when he gets to college. On another note, this experience might make him a fun option for a wildcat play or two. It's fun to watch him now, but I truly can't wait to see what he does at the next level.

  3. Why hasn't PNG been confronted by native American tribes? The mascot is somewhat offensive.

Move on..... this topic would be dead on arrival! We would love for some Liberal puppy fans to bring that up in the media. We have the seal of the Cherokee Nation as well as their FULL endorsement. We respect the name, their code, and everything that it entails.....Honor, Pride, Tradition!!

  4. How can we recruit like Oregon, PNG? NED just don't have the fancies.

NED doesn't have the "fancies" because you keep voting down the proposed bonds. I have a bunch of nieces and nephews in that district and the facilities, talking about the schools, are in dire shape, and your football field needs a complete overhaul. You guys have the option to change your course whenever you want; just vote Yes. In the meantime, keep on hating!

  5. Mayfield, I bleed purple and white and unfortunately my nieces and nephews all go to Nederland (we're still, praying for them). I called my sister after reading this post and she and my nephew think the world of your boys. Bottom line, I love to see hardcore emotion in the heat of battle from all of these young men. It tells me that kid has a desire to win and leave it all on the field. That they have sense of pride and will protect what's theirs at all costs. I don't know what happened nor does it really matter. All that matters is you keep your cool when you come face-to-face with whomever said what. Be the man your boys expect you to be and you my friend, will be better because of it. Much love....Go Indians!!

  6. Hey 77, SD2009 & Friendswood -

If you have the ability to absorb what you read (which is in question), you would notice I gave a ton of credit to the Brenham squad. None of you were, it seems, at the game. If you were at the game you would have noticed the blatant "lack of calls" that were not called on Brenham. Obvious, in your face calls that 7,000 people in the stadium saw but not the few officials on the field. Would the calls have mattered or made a difference? Maybe not. I was just stating a fact, not an opinion.  Bottom line, enjoy the victory. Don't be a soar winner by posting jabs at the obvious!
  7. I have to say, that was a really good game. The game was well fought from both sides of the ball. The Brenham faithful should be proud of their squad and should refrain from talking trash. But just like at the game, there's always a few jerks in the bunch. Your O-Line is your MVP by the way. They did a terrific job keeping our boys at bay. I was also glad to see that most of the people on this thread said your boys were trashtalkers and that was just not the case; for the most part.

As for our Indians, GREAT JOB. I'm very proud of what you guys accomplished this year. You were dealt a few injuries tonight and had to deal with one of the WORST officiating crews I have seen in quite some time. I'm not making excuses, I'm just saying it was brutal. We made some really good adjustments in the second half and took control of the game. We just ran out of time. You all proved what a class act our program is; you won with dignity and took your only loss the same way.

Thank you to the Seniors! To the rest of our district and to the others on this thread; fair warning. We are returning 17 starters and filling in the gaps with an undefeated JV team. Proud to say Big Purple is back!

  8. All I know is that I was able to stretch out a "business trip" through the weekend so I could see the game in person. Living in Las Vegas, it's a bit hard to see my Indians play every week. Saw them last week too against BH; looked really good. We may not have a list of D-1 prospects like the Brenham faithful claim they have. But we do have 65 young men with one goal in mind and have sold out to reach that goal. Gonna be a great game, but I have my Indians winning by 10.
  9. BHFAN -- I know you are posting with your heart, but you have to take a step back and be realistic. The team that BH played the first of the season is nothing like what your boys will experience this week. Since I live 1,600 miles away, I was only able to see the Vidor game in person. Believe me when I tell you that this PN-G team is for real; not even kidding. Do not take the beating you guys get this week personal; it's strictly business.

This will be my only post regarding the BH game. It just seems senseless to discuss a topic that all of SE Texas knows what the outcome will be. Best of luck to BH next season.
