  1. Shepherd shold have a new AD after the Board Meeting Tonight.
  2. I get a lot of humor reading the Huffman posts, Huffman has a good program but you are not even in the same league with Coldspring. You can get on hear and rag the other schools in the district all you want but everyone reading the posts knows the truth so just accept it and move on. What Huffman thinks they can to against Coldspring is the same thing that Liberty, Tarkington, Shepherd and Cleveland think they can do against Huffman. The funny part is the other schools in the district are closer to Huffman than Huffman is to Coldspring. For now and the near future you are only second best.
  3. Yes Chip applied for the Deweyville job, Chip wants to be a coach (that is were his heart is), Now that Shepherd has come open I don't think Deweville is even in his thoughts. Being Shepherd has only posted the job internally I would say he has a very good chance to be the AD/Hc in about 10 days. Shepherd is not an easy place to be a Coach for a bunch of different reasons, but Shepherd does have a good core group of kids coming up in the next 2-5 years and should get somewhat better. Right now Shepherd needs someone who can get the kids and parents to buy into the program and take some ownership in it and I think if anyone can get the folks in Shepherd to buy in it is Chip. I have know him for a very long time and he is everything that eveyone has said about him. Shepherd is not like Coldspring, Shepherd will have to develope its talent, it isn't a place that can just reload every year. Parents and the kids will have to show up, take pride in the program and take the ownership of the program for it to become legit. EastTX, I do agree with what you are saying about some of the people in Shepherd, but there are some good people left there that would like to see Shepherd do good. I hated what happend to jdb son back then too and it really wans't right.
  4. jbd44, I agree with you, Chip does love this town and I do think he can get the parents to buy into the program. Most everyone in this town will give him a chance. Chip will care about all sports and get as many kids involved as he can, he is great with the kids and will always do what is best for them. He is just a really good fit for Shepherd. I will say this that I think Coach Jones is one heck of a Coach.
  5. EastTxguru, Do you live there? If not then I don't know how you could answer the question. I will say that Shepherd has it's problems just like all of the other small towns (and if you don't think your town has any problems then you are just fooling yourself). There is a lot of politics in this town and parents don't seem to get that little johnny needs to work hard and earn what he gets instead of the parents playing politics and getting little johnny his spot. Most of the better kids don't even play sports due to this fact. Can Shepherd compete with Coldspring (no) but they could play with the other teams in district if they could get parents to buy into the system and kids to play.
  6. that should read "The School Board"  and "spend or waste" sorry I can't spell today.
  7. Jone's contract was not renewed about two months ago, but he school board was not going to reassign him due to not wanting to spend or wast (however you want to look at it) extra money. He had one year left on his contract.
  8. He had told his kids and most everyone about a month ago that he was leaving to go back to his home town to coach. I think he has already been giving the head coaching job there.
  9. I will say this, as of right this second he was not reassigned.
  10. do you have a link to that, is he the only one that is reporting this?
  11. The game has been moved to tonight at 6:00 pm. In Shepherd.
  12. He wasn't a H/C in Shepherd but he did coach there. From what I can remember he was a very good coach who really care about the kids and made them do the right thing on the field and in the classroom. And as far as his record at Tarkington, if you win four games in one year then it was a very good year.
  13. Eagleswoodville#1, He is not a transfer, the kid has been in Shepherd his entire life and so has his brother. Now his Mom and Dad are from the columbus area when they were growing up, but the kids have been in Shepherd. Both of these brothers will be really good when they are Sr's. one is a Sophmore and One is a Freshman.
  14. Yes he is only a Sophomore. The kid works hard. We will be a good one for Shepherd for a few more years. His Brother is a Freshman and is starting to pick up pretty good speed on his fastball also. He plays on the Varsity Team also.
  15. Oh he has been heard of just not around East Texas, Played a lot of Select Ball in the Houston Area, But has always lived in Shepherd, Great Kid and Great Family.
  16. Man I thought Shepherd had Problems, I am glad I don't live in Liberty. Why don't you Liberty folks look at the real picture. You have good Athletes that will play hard and put up a good fight, but they are not good enough and you don't have enough of them to beat out Coldspring, Huffman and Cleveland year in and year out. I will say this those boys in Liberty do play there butt off for that coach and play a very disciplined game, Maybe yall should do more to support the coach and change the community attitude toward him then come on here and just run him down. When was the last time some of you that are running him down went and helped the program to work hard and change the loosing attitude? Just food for thought. I am not talking bad about the kids from Liberty just the folks that run this coach in the ground.
  17. Well I can tell you now that Huffman is not behind Shepherd, Shepherd does have some Athletes but getting them to play and work hard is a big issue in Shepherd, they care more about how much black smoke they can blow out of their tailpipe than working hard. Most of the parents talk a good game but when it comes down too it, they are going to do what is best for their baby and not what is best for the program. Most of the good Athletes in Shepherd get tired of the crap and just move to another school. You will start seeing this more and more in the upcoming years.
  18. And people from Huffman wonders why, none of the rest of the district likes or takes them serious.
  19. WHAT!! No fights or stabbings? Oh yea I forgot they won finally.
  20. Falconfanatic, if you are going to say we suck spell it right. For all you very smart, god gifted, super football players from Huffman it is Shepherd. Man you would think with all that money over in Huffman they could hire some teachers that could teach these folks to spell.
  21. Then I guess Hardin must not be that good to get beat by 23 points and only missing their PG. That isn't saying very much for the rest of the Hardin team, Is your PG pretty much your whole team? Oh and yes Cody is a very good player and is a really big part of Shepherd's team.
  22. Distric awards are for the best players, You kinda sound like a Little League coach with "To reward some of the kids that don't have the glory of a state bound team" didn't you know that the players were selected before Coldspring made it as far as they did. I'm not even from Coldspring, but if your kid wasn't on the list maybe the whole team needs to work hard to get there. Every "Little Johnny" doesn't get a trophy and made to fell special, this is big boy world. I don't know how you can say Coldpring didn't have most of the best players in District, Heck they man-handled everyone except for Huffman and  could of scored all the points they wanted to on the rest of the district. "Comon Man"
