  1. So what this Coldspring loss says to me is, Coldspring will be looking for a new HC and maybe a new Supt. for running off Barbay. I'm just taking a guess at this, but losing to Shepherd and now not winning district, will not sit well with the folks in Coldspring. Disclaimer: I am not starting a rumor, I am stating what I believe will happen. So take it for what it is worth.
  2. Shepherd has not played Buna, If you read this board Shepherd has not played one single team this year that was any good. Our record is a hoax. So please everyone do not put Shepherd in the same sentence with the teams of this district as they are not worthy. lol.
  3. What I am telling you is he won the game from the 30 yd. line against Shepherd and had plenty of leg left. On that night he could of kicked a 47 with no problem. I wouldn't believe it either if I didn't see it with my own eyes. But that kid can kick.
  4. All I can say is don't let it come down to the Liberty kicker from the 30 yard line or inside of that. That kid can flat out kick.
  5. TexasPanther12, First place in District 11 would have to face WOS in the Third round (if they make it that far) Second place in both district 11 or 12 would have to face WOS in the fourth round (if they make it that far).
  6. No, Second place in each of those districts would face each other that deep, For some reason the UIL has the W-11 and W-12 in the same group of the bracket and R-11 and R-12 are in the same group.
  7. I seen that, just giving you a hard time today.
  8. I could be wrong, but I just looked at the bracket, W-11 would play w-12 on game 54 which is in the third round. R-11 wouldn't have to face w-12 until the fourth round. If they make it that far.
  9. Kinda putting the cart before the horse today!!! lol
  10. Average a little over 100 yds. per game w/ around 2 td passes a game. Not great but effective enough to open the running game up. Can pass more when needed.
  11. Also if you are looking for a debate about Shepherd vs. Bellville there will not be one. Bellville is good and like I said when we played Liberty. On paper Bellville should win easy. But that's why they play the game. I gave Bellville their props, their good and come to play every Friday Night. So I think it will be a good game.
  12. I never said Tarkington would win, all I am saying is don't give them a reason to think they can play with yall. No one is questioning Bellville's schedule, ok so you guys played stiffer competition, good for you. I still don't think you will blow Shepherd out!!! I think Bellville beats Tarkington easy. There is something to say about a team that thinks they can play with you.
  13. To be honest with you, Shepherd has to get by Royal first. I know people say it all the time, but it is one game at a time for these coaches and players. No one is taken for granted. But to the game this thread is about, Don't let Tarkington think they have a chance or you will have a game on your hands. Bellville has to go out and take care of business in the first quarter, the longer Tarkington hangs around the more confidence they will play with. If it is close in the fourth quarter then anything can happen. No.: 9 for Tarkington is going to be a beast next year. He is a good player but I think he is a Soph. and next year you will hear good things about him.
  14. I have only seen a little film on them. They are good!! But to answer your question that would be a No!. I think that game will be a war just like the Liberty game. Do I think they will blow Shepherd out, NO. Can they beat Shepherd Yes. Will it happen only time will tell.
  15. You will not get much talk on the Shepherd game either. I do think Bellville will win this one by a pretty good margin!
  16. Madisonville looks to be pretty fast and has some playmakers. So This is no "give me" game for Shepherd. Shepherd has to go out and take care of the football. They will have to contain on defense. On offense Shepherd will have to pound the ball (as they have been). They beat Tarkington fairly easy but I thought Shepherd was a little bit sloppy on the night with some holding calls and with some of their blocking. But I can see the coaches cleaning that up this week. Madisonville always plays Shepherd tough, so this is the game that could bit them in the butt if they don't take care of business. Like I always say, that's why we play the game. We shall see on Friday Night. But I do think Shepherd wins this game in a close one.
  17. Still have to play the district games!!!! But on paper I will agree with this
  18. I will say this, It was a very good game. Both teams got better Friday Night. Liberty's #5 is a beast!! But Shepherd showed they could run the ball on a very good defense. Shepherd has some pretty big boys on the O-line and at H-Back that can move a pile. Great effort on both sides of the ball for both teams. Good Luck to Liberty the rest of the way.
  19. TrojanMoJo, You do not owe me anything. You have your opinions and I have mine. No worries it's all good. I just know these boys on the Shepherd team and they had been told for a year that there was nothing left after the big graduating class. So these boys have something to pro every night. We do not have a bunch of great athletes on this team, we have a bunch of kids that want to play hard and do their part no matter how big or small it may be to help this team win. It did help getting some of the baseball kids that haven't played in few years back out on the field.
  20. TexasPanther, I agree with you about Shepherd. They know they do not have the athletes to run the spread. So they changed to suite the players they have. To me that is good coaching. They will do just what you said, they will pound the ball. They are not going to go out and be flashy they are just going to keep coming and coming. Will they win, only time will tell. Who knows. Liberty looks very good on film and those boys play hard. They are fast and the D-line will get after it for a while. Shepherd will have to contain the outside to win this game. The only thing on film I see as a down fall for Liberty is that after a quarter or two the d-line does not fire off the ball and pursue as hard as in the first couple quarters. As far as Coldspring, I will not even get into it with him. The last thing Shepherd has is a big ego. Maybe you should of keep your boys off of twitter and instagram before the Shepherd vs Coldspring game and they wouldn't have to eat so much crow. All I can say is you guys shouldn't of gotten rid of the good coach you had. No one over got on here and said Shepherd will win, I was just stating that who ever plays Shepherd, it will not be an easy game.
  21. That would be my point, Liberty has a good team this year. On paper and film they should win. But I am not one to go by that at all. If you watch Shepherd on film they are not going to wow you and do not look that impressive. The just play hard and never quit. So it will be a perfect storm. Liberty players are going to watch the film, so if they think it will be a walk in the park, I can assure you it won't be. I don't get caught up in wins and losses from history. That tells me nothing about the team this year. I wish Liberty a great year and hope you guys do well and make it far into the playoffs. I just know what determination that Shepherd has and it will be a dog fight. Then again it may not be nothing but a walk in the park. We will see on Friday night.
  22. Camsdad, I will bring you one. It may have some tears on it, but it will wash. So Nice to see you got the joke. TexasPanthers2012, dude chill out a little bit. Why take High School football so serious? Man the first part of my post was a joke. I was not trying to be sarcastic, I am actually glad Liberty is having a good year, they deserve it. I am just saying don't sleep on shepherd cause the outcome may not be to your liking. Now what is wrong with that prediction? You think it will be a big win for the Panthers (and it very well could be) and I think that if your boys come in too confident they may get surprised. That's it!!! No one questions your man hood, so get your panties out of a bunch. The game will be played and you will either have a nice ride back to Liberty or a long one. I can't decide that and you can't either. Those Players and Coaches will make that decision. So come on down Friday enjoy the game (oh and please don't get too worked up). The sun will come up on Sat. morning and all will again be right in Panther land.
  23. I hope you fine folks know that the players read what is said. My son came home from practice last night and told me that "we have no chance against the Mighty Panthers, so why are we even going to play the game". Then he went straight to bed without dinner and cried himself to sleep holding a little panther stuffed animal. So the game this week is cancelled!!!! The Pirates do not want all those folks to waste their time and money to travel all the way to Shepherd for nothing. The outcome has been decided, so stay home and do something worth wild. I sure hope you folks think that is ridiculous as some of the post on here. Liberty is a good football team and if they play the way they are capable of then on paper they should win. Liberty finally has a good team and now we have to hear the "go undefeated" comments. Why can't you folks just be happy for these players and enjoy the ride they are taking you on? OH AND I WOULD NOT SLEEP ON SHEPHERD if I was you. Good coaching with a bunch of overachieving players just might come back to bite you in the "Well You Know"!!! Yea the shepherd players have heard all year about loosing 26 sr. and there is nothing left. Well those boys play hard every play and never quit. So If I were you Liberty fans just don't look too far past the next few games.
  24. The kids name is Johnathan Marshall and he is playing for Arkansas, I do believe that he redshirted this year but I could be wrong. Johnathan is a great athlete but an even better person. So happy for him. Also Royce See is playing for Sam Houston and played the entire second half of Sat. nights game at Safety. Another fine athlete and young man. The game last Friday night was a tale of two halves. Coldspring looked very good in the first half, but did not make any adjustments in the second half. Shepherd looked like a deer in the headlights in the first half, but made the adjustments and flat out just outplayed Coldspring in the second half. Clearly Coldspring had way more athletes than Shepherd did, Shepherd's offense is not flashy, but when you can line up and get 4-6 yards a carry and run the same play over and over that will not end well for you against anyone. Shepherd's offensive line and fullback controlled the line and opened some big holes. Coldspring will be fine, they have way too many athletes not to. Maybe this will be the fire they need to push them to the next level. So good luck to them the rest of the way. I will say this, that is the first time in a long time that I seen a Shepherd team be way more physical than a Coldspring team, and it showed in the fourth quarter.
