Trojan427 it is very sad that you would use God in anything like this, Coldspring had a good season and played very well, Please don't get on here and use excuses as to why Coldspring lost. You got beat don't take anything away from Wimberley, they played a good game. Why don't you just "Man Up" like the rest of the good folks from Coldspring and take the loss and move on, instead of trying to blame someone for the loss. I guess for some it is easier to blame someone else instead of facing the truth, Wimberley was just a better team on that night.

I guess the old saying may come true, offense will win games but defense will win a championship, Good Luck this week Coldspring the blue and white is rooting for you!

CHs96, As I stated on another thread, we know the majority of people from Coldspring are not like these few that get on here and make the comments that they do. There are a lot of good people in that town that really do cheer on the teams and like players that play hard no matter what they are up against. Both of these schools have really never been football powerhouses but the boys go out on a daily basis and work their butts off, I know the ones for Shepherd pretty well and they play hard for the town, themselves, their parents and some of the coaches (yea I said some of the coaches). It just gets hard to watch sometimes, but you keep going and cheering them on knowing one day it will turn around.

I wasn't comparing Coldsring to Shepherd or Tarkington, so go back and re-read it. Sorry if my post was long and you couldn't understand. All I said was you had as many titles as them, Not putting them in the same breath, trust me I know the dedicatoin and work that goes into it, more that you would ever know I did. I was trying to get the few from Coldspring that make the degrading comments to understand that you don't have to be like that when you are as good as Coldspring is. I know a bunch of good people in Coldspring and even went and watched a few of the playoff games last year. I cheered them own just like their own fans did. And when this season is over and Coldspring is still playing I will do the same, just don't want to see a few make the whole town look bad. Trust me every team in our district knows how good you are and you don't have to come on here and make some of the post that you do, the boys that are playing the game are speaking loud enough for the whole town. Getting on here and talking a little smack is one thing but to totally degrade the other schools that are not up to the same level as Coldspring is not very classy. Take all the smack you would like. The Huffman fans are taking smack also as they are just taking up for their boys and team, but will soon find out just how good Coldspring really is. Huffman is a good team (so don't take me as knocking your team Huffman) but I don't think they will be able to play with yall. Coldspring has a good thing going on, I haven't heard anything out of them all year until this week, don't let all the good that has been done over their be over-shadowed by a few./

Some of you Colspring fans needs to be a little more respectful. You haven't won anything yet. Last year when Coldspring was getting on this site and crying cause none of the other teams in district was supporting them well you can see why, between this thread and the Tarkington vs Shepherd thread. You would think that Coldspring being as good as they are would have more class than this. It is just too bad that a few from Coldspring is giving a bunch of good people over there a bad name. You should be the class of the distric and I know the coaches over there wouldn't agree with the comments that some are making. Until you get the big trophy I would be a little more on the humble side. If memory serves me correct Coldpsring has been to the big game twice now and they have as many titles as Shepherd or Tarkington.

Yea if I couldn't spell Shepherd right I wouldn't root for them either. Spoken and spelled like a true Coldspring fan.

I think this one is going to be close, I would think that Shepherd's D is better but their Offense is not doing much of anything. I would say this if Shepherd looses to Tarkington it is going to be a bad day in Shepherd for someone!!!!

Seen both teams play against Shepherd and I would say Huffman should win this game in comfort. Huffmans D is pretty good and if the QB gets time to throw he is going to kill the Cleveland D.

Falconfanatic, How many times was your QB pressured or knocked down? Just cause you don't sack the QB doesn't mean you don't take him out of his comfort zone, everytime he was hit or pressured he didn't make good passes. Again I think Huffman is a good team and is the second best team in the distric!!! I was just pointing out that Coldspring and Cleveland are faster on defense than Shepherd is and better as a group. Huffman has to protect the QB better if they want to go far in the playoff's. Take it as constructive not as I was bashing your team.

I wouldn't get the Shepherd folks started on Coach Jones right now, hear the honeymoon is over.

Sorry to ruffle the feathers of the Almighty Falcons, Mr. Falconfanatic, go back and re-read my post I said if they don't fix the protection of the QB then Cleveland will rake the field with them. I still think Huffman is the second best team, but like all teams there is something that needs to be fixed on them. So if he only threw for 75 of those yards that leaves and average of 83 for each of the other 3 quarters. Bambam and when I made that statement I was talking about the defense not the entire team, again go back and read the entire post and then maybe you will be able to understand, but I doubt it. Maybe you Huffman people should take what some people say as not knocking your football team but pointing out what may help in the playoffs. 89falcon yes you are right Shepherd is not a very good team this year and it took Huffman 3 full quarters to get ahead of them. What does that say about playing a good quality team like Coldspring. I wish the Huffman football team luck the rest of the way.

bambam, can't you read I said Shepherd's defense I didn't say anything about there offense taking it to Huffman. Yea he threw for 300 plus yards and most of those yards were in the 4th quarter when Shepherd's defense got tired. Do your homework!! I saw the game. All I am saying is if Huffman doesn't block any better than they did Friday night and find some sort of running game then Coldspring and Cleveland will rake the field with them. Shepherd is not a very good team this year and for them to stay in the game for 3 quarters like they did (with no offense to speak of). It will be a long rest of the Season for Huffman.

No Shepherd didn't change there game plan, it looked like the Shepherd Defense got tired and gave up a few big plays. Shepherd's offense just doesn't put long drives together at all and couldn't stay on the field long enough to give the defense a break. Huffman wants to get on here and say they were flat and had a lot of dropped balls, but from were I sat it looked like the blitz affected the Huffman QB and he threw the ball at the WR feet and over their heads a lot in the first half. Seemed the more pressure that Shepherd applied and the more they put the QB on his back the worse he looked. I will say that when Shepherd didn't get to him he (Huffman QB) made them pay. He is really good if you give him time to throw. Oh and one of those scores for Huffman came with about 1 min left in the game (8 pts.) to make the score look a little bit bigger than it really was. I want to say that 80% of there rushing yards the whole night came on that long run.  The score after 3 quarters was 21-14. Yes Huffman held Shepherd to minus yards in the second half and yes they scored 29 unanswered points. I know Huffman fans you don't have to say it again. But if you are going to come on here and say that they came out flat and had a lot of dropped balls (isn't that part of the game also) Why can't you just say Shepherd's defense blitzed you to death and they took it to you for the first 3 quarters. I will say after seeing Coldspring, Cleveland and Huffman that Huffman is the second best team in distric no doubt. So Huffman don't get on here and say I am bashing your team cause I am not, I think they are good, but need to fix the QB protection and running game.

No one from Shepherd has gotten on here and said a word, i guess they were letting Huffman tell it their way. How about your QB didn't have anytime to throw the ball most of the night. It seemed like he didn't like being hit. I will give it to him, when he had time he made Shepherd pay. So if you would like to say dropped balls and coming out flat is why the score  was 14 to 6 at the half go ahead. But Shepherd took it to Huffman for most of the game. I guess Shepherd could get on here and say they lost cause of the fumbles they had in the 3rd quarter. If I remember they had 3 just in that quarter and still only trailer 21 to 14 at the end of 3. So I guess tell it the way if makes you feel better. If huffman can't protect the quarter back any better than they did on Friday night, Coldspring will make the quarterback pay.

I would hope no one would take me serious on that, that was ment to poke a little bit of fun at you Liberty people.

UTE, talk about someone not being able to follow what is being said, I got the point about the yards that Liberty put up, did you miss my point about how loosing a fumble, int. doesn't matter and doesn't make loosing any better. The POINT started when someone said Liberty's  offense was as good as Coldspring. And to that POINT it all depends on who you are playing. POINT TAKEN!!!! Then POINTS were make as to why Liberty lost the game to Huffman, Why can't Liberty just say Huffman was a better team on that Night instead of making excuses as to why you lost the game. Now back to the topic. I say Tarkington in an upset. 35-10!!!

I could also say that last year (When Liberty went to the playoffs) Shepherd had them beat and lost a fumble on the 2 yard line (going in for another score). At that point if Shepherd would of scored with time running out Liberty would of lost that game. If memory serves me right. So is it good for me to say that Shepherd gave Liberty a gift to go to the playoffs. Nope, so all that crap about Should-of Would-of doesn't matter and neither does the 346 yards of offense, I don't think that is what they go by how many yards of offense a team has to decied who goes to the playoffs. That would be W's. Liberty can get on here and tell the world about there offense and dream whatever they wish. Go win against Coldspring or Huffman if you want anyone to take you serious in this district.

were you at the game? obviously not.. if liberty's o played liberty's d they put up 60.. If I remember right, your offense only put up 20 points on Huffman's Defense, I wouldn't say that is burning up the field with offensive productivity. What is Coldspring average scoring point per game 50+. All I am saying is that Liberty is a solid team, but I get on here and read about how great Liberty is. Just be real about it, you are solid, but not in the same league as Coldspring. I think the best you can do in district is 3rd, that is if Cleveland doesn't beat you, So quit telling the world how great you are and go out and prove it.

offensively Liberty is just as good as their district championship competitors. Really!!! Liberty couldn't carry Coldspring bags to the game for them, come on, I'm not even from Coldspring but that was a little bit out there. Liberty wishes they were as good as Coldspring on offense, if you were you would of been able to score enough to beat Huffman.

Indian 15/16 I don't think Shepherd needs anyone from CLEVELAND trying to tell them about a community being embarassment. Your team and coach was not saints on Friday night either.

Nobody has ever disagreed with how good Coldspring is and you are right it will stay that way for a good while, Barbay has them working hard and playing harder. We agree there is not much anyone can do about the score and the score does not bother us that much. At this point with the kids that Shepherd has you just want to see them fight to the end and never give up. I think Jones is a good coach and really does know what he is doing, I think it has more to do with the people of Shepherd and it is going to take a lot to change that. I could go into a long rant about Little Johnny and why he isn't giving everything instead of having to work for it, but we will save that for another day.

I do know my facts and if you live in Coldspring then you must of moved back there. But it really doesn't matter. If it makes you feel like somebody to post up on how bad Coldspring will beat Shepherd then that is fine go ahead. To the Coldspring players, coaches and parents I wish you the best and hope you finish what you started last year and win state this year. Go make the whole county of San Jacinto proud. Shepherd does cheer for you guys when you are not playing us. Coach Barbay has done well with this team. Oh and I do have family that Plays for Coldspring.

BigDaddy, Aren't you from Cleveland anyway? So jump on the band wagon while you can. We all know that Coldspring is a very good team and should win this game, but there is a reason that they play the game instead of just giving it to them. But with that said Coldspring should win easy. It is hard to watch a team that really does want to get over the hump but just can't seem to get there and then get on here and read these comments. Some of those boy on the Shepherd team work their butts off, it's  just too bad that you can't get most of the parents and other kids in the school to play and work hard. So BigDaddy maybe you should worry a little more about Cleveland. I saw the game last Friday night agaist Shepherd and from what I saw Cleveland has their hands full just trying to get to the playoffs, They better start to worry with Coldspring, Huffman and Liberty. I would bet Cleveland is the odd man looking in when it is all said and done. Coach Barbay do one for me, When you are beating Cleveland by 50, there is only 1 minute left in the game (with the outcome not in doubt) score one more time just for old Shepherd. What you say will you do that for me.

If it is the same Pat Fischer that was the AD/Head Coach at PNG and HJ, He was also the AD/ Head Coach at Shepherd for a few years, he took Shepherd to the playoff for the first time in 25 years when he was there. He is a great defensive coach and great person also. Kelly has done a good job of getting one of the best defensive coaches that is out there.
