does kirbyville lose anyone this year?

ok im seeing 22-18 in the 4th right now, im really glad to see burkeville put up a good fight.

im not sure where they went, ive heard several stories on reasons they left but not sure about any of them. 

from what i understand eric williams is not there anymore, him and his wife left last year.

i dont think it has anything to do with the state allowing students to move, it just comes down to these kids have family in newton and jasper and want to play for a winning team. burkeville can pull out of it, but there going to have to cut certain programs that they cant afford.  ive heard that this was a cause of alot of things happening over this summer alone, some know they cant keep spending, and others think they can have all these sports and programs and be just fine.

i have heard that there qb will be going to newton, not real positive but i would not be surprised at all

ive heard a rumor that long time burkeville coach roy harper is leaving to go to jasper and teach math? anyone heard anything else?

alto should win, also on a side note, last years 1a state champions are in the semifinals in 2a last time i checked.

i said at the beginning of the year that burkeville was really gonna have to start fighting because they were moved out of that district. that district has pretty much always been at the bottom in terms of strength.

i really think tatum is number 1 and newton not far behind. i think newton hasnt shown enough in my eyes just yet to be number 1

i think teams such as deweyville play the small schools because there trying to build there program up. if you look at teams that are successful year in and out, you will see that there non district schedule usually has a few tough ones. teams that arent usually successful tend to schedule a few gimme games. all this is just in my opinion by what i think i see when i see other teams schedules. does it help teams? no idea

im not sure about them this year. i went to the alto game and they are extremely young, they have 3 seniors on a team of about 20 (give or take some). i wouldnt be surprised if about 16 of them are freshman and sophomore. they have a very athletic quarterback, but i think they are a year or two away from anything. i also heard that they have been losing kids like crazy and are down to about 100 kids in high school.

also let me add that newton and other schools that consistently go 2 or 3 rounds deep every year are just lucky to have talented kids year in and year out. i think newton has kids that are just so fast and talented and the fact that barbay runs a weird but great offense that brings out the best in the players.

i think there is a huge difference between a big 3a team vs a small 3a team game, and a big 1a (or 2a in this case) vs a small 1a.

u can be a small 3a school and still have 40 to 50 kids come out and be able to pick the 20 best. most 1a schools, especially burkeville, has to take what it can get, i know they have around 23 kids on varsity, and thats what they get, theres no jv team, the 23 that wanted to play football are playing football, and the coaches and players make a team with that. theres alot better chance of getting 20 talented kids out of 40-50, than there is picking 20 out of 23. thats why i think 1a is the hardest classification to repeat a champ.

im not sure about this one. burkeville has a really young team that i have heard is improving every day. i think it will be a tough game because of the numbers difference, and hopefully burkeville can show something.

from what i see with how west hardin played groveton, i see HD as being the winner out of this district (but thats just coming from this first week and how the scores came up). from what the score was against west hardin and groveton, that really makes me worried being a burkeville fan.

i think this just really comes to show that even though you drop down to 1a, its not a sure thing, i really didnt expect much to come out of WH, and i dont expect alot out of there district. burkeville ended up getting out of that district, and i think well realize how easy we had it. i always thought that we were in one of the easiest in the state in 1a.

he doesnt get to play until a few weeks after the season starts right?

Not trying to stir up trouble, but I was reading another forums thread about someone from diboll talking about them winning district with moye.

In my opinion I hope he does great and hope everything works out with him, hes had a pretty tough time so far and only wish the best on him. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about him?
