I don't necessarily think its the end of the earth. For 30 plus years they had one head coach. I personally think they have had a hard time because they have been use to it being stable. I don't know about certain family's causing problems. I think they need to allow a young coach to come in and let him have control of everything regarding football. With Harper still there it could be hard having that looking over your shoulder.  I don't have anything against the previous coaches they have hired, but it's gonna be alot of work and patience to build that program back up and I don't think the coaches they have hired were in it for the long haul.

Burkeville can't do anything about it. Most years only one of the 1A teams in SETX goes past the 1st playoff game. There are only what 2 districts in SETX and they're in different divisions (not positive), so should we give one of the playoff spots to a more competitive area of the state?

Who's this Elton Hightower guy?  When you say Rose was rifted does that just mean they didn't extend his contract?  When I was in school Rose was not coaching but I bet he could have been a good coach to play for, IMO Burkeville needs some young blood in their athletic department.  Hamilton has been the football coach the last few years I think and I honestly think he is a great person, but he's been in retirement mode for a few years.  Hopefully Burkeville sticks with the basketball coach they have because I think the team really enjoyed this year.

It sucks to see some great people let go, but if they're already getting a retirement I don't see why they should be untouchable.  it's better to keep the teachers that still have years to go.  All school districts are going through this and I see alot of people not happy, but what else are they suppose to do to cut back.   I had to come back and edit this because I didn't see this the first go round.  If they really have 3 supers thats amazing, I've heard people say that schools are top heavy with too many administrators and this would fall into that category I would think.   [quote author=Red Rocker link=topic=80066.msg967761#msg967761 date=1297960873] Newton ISD has to cut people anyway so they can pay their three (yes 3) supts.  A small 2A school with three supts. [/quote] When I was getting ready to do the previews, I was trying to see who was going to be coach and happened upon the minutes the the Burkeville ISD where they had taken action to remove Hamilton.  As to the specifics, I don't know as that discussion was in executive session and what was discussed in that session was not discussed. What happened last year if you can tell. I hope burkeville gets some young blood in there to coach football.

[/quote] What is your issue with Burkeville?  The only thing I can guess is Burkeville use to run over your team for years, and now that the roles have reversed you feel the need to rub it in.  We get it! Your not impressed with Burkeville, but in the end it's still just a bunch of teenage boys playing a game of football.
