just wondering what everyone thinks about southeast texas high school football, i think last year rita affected alot of things, i wonder what this year brings?

"They seem like to me they are just so used to losing and they don't have any of that "want-to" in them." This is a funny quote, I think this year Altos gonna be the big school droppin down to put there foot in there mouth. from a few posters on different messageboards, they seem like they are sizing up there ring fingers.

who are the best contact hitters in se tx?

i would say i hope they win it all in everything, but i gotta go with my high school (burkeville). although i hope they do good and represent southeast texas well.

i havent seen deweyvilles new gym, but i think evadale has the best from what ive seen. burkeville build one a few years back and try to make theres similiar to evadales, but they added a stage at one end that just kills the basketball mood. overall though i think evadale built theirs right. great basketball environment, and i know when u play in it u feel like your playing big time games.

Alto should be pretty good this coming up year, but I wouldn't bet any money on them winning it all. there are some really good teams from north texas (windthorst) and west texas. the last team to drop down to 1a and win it all their first year was stratford 2000. but they were beat out in the semifinals by celina in 2a the year before and had their whole team returning. i think theres too many surprise teams in 1a that come out of nowhere that makes 1a so unpredictable. plus it will be tough for alto and west hardin because 1a is goin to the 2 state champs format like every other classification (this really ticks me off ), and they'll most likely go to the big school bracket.

they lost alot from what i can think of, most of there good players are graduating, so i couldnt even tell you what next year will be like.

Burkeville is out of the playoffs, i heard they lost 61-52, or something around that. Rivercrest was loaded though.

that would be understandable if it was early on in the season. They actually played at the end of district sometime, i wanna say it was in the middle of february.

i am really disappointed in what they have done so far, i expected alot more from them when all the schools combined, i really think they have the potential to be awesome. i just think right now it seems like theres things lackin such as school support and other things. i think once they get it together they have the potential to be champ caliber every year.

i dont really think you can say much about newton, burkeville played them in a game during an open date, and burkeville led the whole game only to lose by 2 or 3 in the final minute, in fact burkeville led by as many as 7 or 8 in the final 3 and their wheels fell off.

every mssg i see on here that shows playoff pairings and scores goes 2a-5a. last time i check burkeville was still in the playoffs :wink: . we were considered southeast texas not to long ago, and i know ppl from burkeville think of theirselves as being southeast texans, but wheres the love?
