EC did come within 8 during the 3rd, but Kountze shut it down after that.  EC looked like they had no confidence, did not have anyone willing to take the ball to the goal and when they did, couldn't make the basket.  I know that we have some great talent on our varsity team, but I am baffled at why they can't seem to come together and play good solid team ball. 

EC also has a very competitive 8th grade team.  They were undefeated as 7th graders and remain so.  They beat Odom 8th grade in the championship at their tournament this past Saturday, and Odom had about 20 A-team players while we only have 7 on our A team.  It sounds like they would be a great match up with HF or Silsbee! Anyone hear the young girl who sang the National Anthem at the game?  Her name is Nicole and she is a freshman at East Chambers High School.  She did an amazing job!  There is a video on you tube.  I'll try to post a link.

It was somewhere along the lines of 68 to 40-something for the Varsity game.  EC's JV also won by a good margin.

That was a pretty classless post ECBF.  Very disappointing.  I'd prefer to not have anyone representing the community that I am proud to be a part of in that way as it reflects badly on the rest of us. Great game Woodville!  Your boys played with heart and so did ours.  Not any of us can take that away from either team! Go Bucs!  Good luck next Saturday!

8th Grade: Buna 8 EC 0 This was a great game. I believe it was the end of the 3rd quarter or maybe even in the 4th before Buna scored. EC did score with about a minute left in the game but it was called back. They drove the rest of the way and with 5 seconds left the QB made a great throw to a receiver in the end zone but the ball was dropped. It was a great effort all the way till the last second!

8th Grade HF 16 Huffman 15 I do not know the score of the 7th grade game.

Different story for the 8th graders though. EC dominated most of the game. It was a good game. EC's 8th grade boys played awesome the first quarter... I believe the score was 20 to 0 at the end of the 1st or very early in the 2nd. HJ played well though and have some definite speed! They came on strong but the Buc boys held on and continued to score. I was very proud of them!
