  1. In my opinion, Delberta Guillory-Smith is the player of the year for the area. See has stepped up her game this year and has done it on the boards, scoring and defense... Asia has as well too. They have done it against some really good players as well. In all, our area is starting to get back to what it used to be from an individual talent standpoint. Some really good younger players and some special ones in the junior high levels coming.
  2. Heather does a great job for our areas’ athletes! Had a great time at the station today with her and the rest of the gang from kfdm.
  3. Great job tonight by the Lady Hawks! JV team remained undefeated on the season in convincing fashion and the Varsity had solid contributions from all 14 girls! I really like what WOS has done to spruce up the gym! It looks great!
  4. As the first half of district wraps up, there are some big games that could shake things up this week. I have told anyone that asks all year, that our district will do well come playoff time. The #2 seed matchup with Yates will be a tough one, but it would not surprise me if we had #2vs #3. and #1 vs #4 all playing each other in the 3rd round. HJ. 4-0. @ WOS, vs SILS) LUMBERTON. 4-1. (BYE, @ BC) WOS. 3-1. (@HJ, LCM) SISLBEE 2-2. (HF, @HJ) LCM. 1-3. (@BC, WOS) BC. 1-3. (LCM, @LUM) HF. 0-5 (@ SILS, BYE)
  5. Class act move by the Lumberton Lady Raiders and Coach Sanders after the game! The generosity shown by the girls to help one of our families was cool to watch! At the end of the day, we are all playing a game! Our area is full of great folks who band together when things get tough!
  6. Let all this stuff be what it is.... Rankings made by TABC, Roy Report, TGHCA, Etc are just one persons view.... nothing more, nothing less.... If you go by record, teams that play tough schedules are left out.... If you go by strength of schedule, good teams are left out... If coaches dont reports scores, good teams are left out... At the end of the day, each coach schedules games for a reason... some to get wins to get their kids confidence, some to see different styles of play, some to get tough games, etc.... The rankings that matter get decided at a tournament at the end of the seson... until then, keep working and lets all go show the rest of Texas how SETX hoops come feb and march.....
