Heard Broaddus won by a run. Not real sure if I heard final right, but maybe 11-10?? Was told Bulldogs had them down, but they rallied back.

Maybe some 6 man football is in Burkeville's future
I was thinking the same thing.

Just need to have less than 100 kids in high school. They have everything else they need. -
It is true...the district graciously voted us in this past winter so we are the real deal now. We are no longer 'Outlaws' ;D
It was really a fun season this past year learning the new game. Community seemed to adapt well and we had good crowds still. Some may still downplay 6man, but it really has an exciting appeal to it and if you get a chance you should really try to catch a game. Now..just like 11man, if it's a lopsided game it's really not that exciting (unless you're winning of course!), but when you have teams that are relatively comparable, it's hard to beat!
If anyone thinks 6man is not football, I challenge you to rethink that thought. I saw some hits last year that will make the toughest of the tough shiver a little! I have even read that they are trying to start adult 6man leagues in central Texas. Maybe we should try that here. Any takers??? -
Broaddus takes this one 9-7.

You're right...this district is up for grabs. After going through the first round it is apparent that no team is completely dominant. Even though we have had a couple of games that have been way off from our normal brand of baseball, you can really see that the teams are pretty matched up and you really cannot predict a solid winner (if you look at it from an unbiased opinion...we all have our favorites as well as our expectations :)). It's all about how the young men are prepared for each game mentally as well as physically. Who wants it more??
Should be an interesting second round. Man I love this game! -
Chester wins 17-1

Bottom of 3. Chester up 6-0

Chester has two so far this season...
One by Gator Thompson

Chester takes this one 13-0 in 6

If my memory serves me correctly the UIL rule only specified that no noisemakers could be in enclosed area e.g. basketball gyms. But it's been a while since I read it.
Ump should have authority to impede if necessary. Real fans should only utilize noisemakers to lift up team on great plays..not to break down a kid. JMO. -

Congrats Kountze for the win and to the Price kid…16 K's against anybody is a feat!! And as for Chester, they will do fine this year! Congrats to the Freshman that hit a HR in his first game!
Thanks for the encouragement. The first game HR is exciting no matter the pitcher or the outcome. Price did pitch a great game.
For those who think we're down, don't be too quick to judge. We are still fielding some pretty scrappy players. With a little re-organization and some good coaching we intend on being right there in the mix. You don't have to have 9 college-bound players to be a good team. Talent, heart and leadership are all important factors in a competitive program. We got all 3.
None of us know the outcome of season until the last game is played, but I'm expecting a great ride. Man I love baseball season! Fear the Sting! -
Try this website...it lists each class and each school in each class with records. If you click on the year it will give you the schedule and the scores also (or it did for the ones that I looked at). Hope this helps.

Brookeland boys took this one 72-12
Brookeland VG & JVG also won however the scores escape me at the moment. VG was about 12-15 pt spread I believe. Sorry..I'll do better next time. -
It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love to go to a High School Football game, wear my purple hoodie, get some hot chocolate and nachos (w/peppers of course!!) and enjoy the sights and sounds of Friday Nights. Too bad it's the last game for us to play in the cool. Hooray for fall weather, football and deer hunting!! :D

Well, guys, the scores are hard to believe sometimes. But even with the shorter quarters, shorter field and different PAT points, it's a fun game. A lot of folks have the perception it's not real football or it's just backyard football, but it is still a hard-hitting, exciting game. The big hits are even more visible. You don't miss that part of the game at all. However, the big plays are multiplied and it keeps the game on edge and it keeps the fans excited. We get to yell more as fans now than we have in a long, long time. And when we are excited, the kids are excited. And when the kids are excited, we are excited. The exciting thing for our kids is that our side of the stands have been full for each home game this year and the concession stand sales out. Our community is supporting it and the kids are having fun. One neat aspect of the game I have become fond of is the eligibility of any player being a receiver. Those that might normally only get the ball on a fumble can make a big play now too. We have a big lineman that gets the opportunity to bulldoze his way in for a touchdown every now and then. You don't get to see that usually in 11 man except with a fumble. It's been an interesting season and although we are winding down to our last two games we still have the opportunity to finish the year at .500, but we are looking forward to an exciting future and hope to build on this year.

Purple helmet with a big gold, "C" on both sides. They also have purple facemasks.

Is it this logo that they had 2 years ago?

Expect it to look like that but we haven't seen them yet. Homecoming next week will be the first time to see them with the logo...they have been solid purple this year so far with the exception of one old logo helmet like you've posted. -
I hope the community continues to support him...sad world we live in where our good deeds are interpreted as selfishness.

Way to make me cry first thing Tuesday morning!!! Incredible!!! What a great group of kids to do such an admirable thing..God bless 'em!

Our children are blessings straight from God. Good reminder Skipper. I tell both my boys I love them every day. ( And sometimes they even tell me first :) ) May all your kids be safe this season. God bless Reggie's family. God will use #12 to add others to His kingdom.
