I was there from the start. :o..It seemed like nerves or something...on offense we completed our first pass, ran for a couple, then it was like..... :-\, the QB ran for his life till half time.  This was actually a real game, starters played 3 quarters(I think they worked a few people here and there). Defense played with those nerves too...I think it was 36-0 in at the half :-[ :-[(just poor tackling, did not look like us)....the third qtr it appeared the nerves had disappeared....3 and out for the first 8 minutes bothways.

Westbrook drove all the way to the Lufkin 25 or 30 yd line the drive was stopped by a deflected pass that was intercepted....WB also dropped several passes(a couple in the endzone), like I said, very uncharacterstic....I hope we got all the nerves out this week....because ready or not we'll see Ozen come Friday!! 8)

I got to La Marque at 6:45 with the Central buses...Central got out off the bus...stretched while Eisenhower and La Marque finished up....they ran the last play and called it.... >...so the kids got back on the bus and came back home... I couldn't believe it....both La Marque and Eisenhower ran off the field like it was raining immidiately following the last play!!

Ohh, I see.  So you are close to the Central program.  You know, it is never too late to switch over to the boys in maroon.  ;D

A Couple of Things For all the Trash Talkers on here.....

These are high school kids playing the football not all the posters on here. If the kid's want to get on here and talk trash let them but for god sakes you are grown men talking trash on high schools and high school players.

Vidor is going to bring 5,000 people? Where are they going to sit then...they better bring their bleachers too because kelly is not equipped to handle that.

SgtRey...does it make you feel tough to call out Dakota Eddins like that. Would you enjoy it if someone came on here and called out your son or one of your family members...Give me a break....I'm sure if Coach Stump had his choice he would have preferred it if he stayed. Dakota was a St. Anne's kid who went to westbrook for a year and decided to come back to Kelly. Who cares what his reasons were? But your going to call out a high school kid? Wow real mature.

When you come on here with no real anaylsis and make comments like vidor by 50 or Kelly by 30 that is pointless. If you want to offer analysis after having SEEN BOTH TEAMS than go ahead and feel free to state your opinion.

Yeah, I have some boys on Central's Team I coached in little league(baseball & football)...My boy and "T" man have been playing together since they were about 4 yrs old, until they got to Jr high and High school....Oagletree was My DE, when they were 10 yrs old.  Jacoby & Devin worked out with us in the evenings with the same trainer all summer....you kinda like to see how IKE and Central will match up too.

I won't be going to our scrimmage.  If you are going, can you please keep us updated?  Thanks in advance...

After the 1st Qtr.

i dont know Sgt.... Last year even with an All American back Ozen lead after the 1st qtr.. I really think people have let the last 3 yrs get to them remember.. Ozen has only had 3 losing seasons and it looks like the panthers of old have returned but lets just wait only 1 week remains until alot of people get a real wake up call

I think Ozen does turn the program around, I agree with that 100%.  New coach, new attitude, new uniforms next year(it always happens with a new coach)....I was talking smack, bout WB being up by 14 after the 1st...honestly, being so early in the season, I don't see either one of us scoring very much, the best defense wins this....An Offense, in general, usually takes a couple of weeks to be close to full strength(last year our offense had seasoned Vets).  This year we are younger....for the sake of both of our programs, I hope we work those kinks out in our scrimmages....I still think the trophy stays here at Da' Brook!!! :D ;D ;D

For someone who posts on smoaky as well as Setx I can honestly say that this site is much better. It is a lot more organized and maintained. Keep up the good work SETX and lets have a great season.

They don't know about all the superstars....Just like they don't know bout Da' Brooks superstars....guess they'll be adjusting those polls after the first few weeks....I know we'll move up at Da' Brook....Central....ya'll only have one place to go :-X :-X :-X ;D

All I know is that Brook is in trouble.  I hope they don't get exploited too much for the Katy game... ;)

I heard that! The problem is, we might get exploited by either of a couple of schools before we get beat down by Katy. Yes SgtRey, I know Bruce is very talented, but he has not seen a snap of varsity competition......especially at the QB position. It's going to take a few weeks for everything to fall into place, and we might have a pretty good team in the making, but we haven't done anything yet. Rankings are nice, but they dont mean a thing when it comes to winning games.

Both sides of the ball looked very well....lets just say I was surprised how well the offense did....the OLine was on da money....Our D-Line had a new face.....and did well too....I'd rather wait to say after Lufkin...hard to tell when you scrimmage yourself.  Lufkin will be a good test  :-X :-X

I do want to say I use the word "dominated" loosely, Hardin still has tons to work on and Kelly was no slouch and is loaded with talent and should have a great year. So "looked better" might have been a better choice of words.

Considering that Kelly's 1st team sat out most of the scrimmage , I thought it was not that bad of a game. Hardin has some talent, they need to work on their passing game - as does Kelly.

Kelly's 1st 15 plays had their 1st team Offense in when they made the touchdown and 2 point conversion. Kelly's OL is young and is going to have to step up to protect their QB and backs. Towards the end of the scrimmage you could tell they were lacking on the line.  I hope Middleton can get them to step up to do their job.
