Silsbee defense out performed EC offense but EC had some success passing the ball. EC's running game did struggle. There was a lot of times EC did stand toe to toe. I don't think Dory Roberts was at 100% coming off sprained ankle from Tarkington but that is no excuse. Someone is going to have to step up and make it happened or EC will struggle in big games. Remember this was just a scrimmage and both teams have only been practicing 3 weeks and will get better. I did think EC blocking improve since the last scrimmage but I would like to see this young team get their head/body on the correct side and move the defense out of the hole creating lanes. The defense would slide off the blocker and make tackle. I'm not talking about just lineman. It's the lead RB, WR as a team. Thats just my opinion take it like a grain of salt. LOL ;D

It looked like EC worked a lot on their passing game (passing more than running) which looked to have some success. The running game definitely looked like it needed some work but with a young offensive line they should be able to improve before the season starts. Silsbee's #65 I think was his number was a beast on the Def line. EC's defense looked good and again should improve as experience of the starting soph grows as the season progresses. Good luck with the  rest of your season Silsbee and THANKS for the scrimmage.

[/quote]The down lineman did not look bad against Tarkington. I just want to see how they do against Silsbee. They have a lot of talented lineman. I’m not sure how much experience on varsity from last year. I guess we will find out in about 3.5 hrs. ;D

LOL EC first drive was plagued with different penalties. EC RB Dory Roberts went out the rest of the game with an injury. It looked like a sprained ankle. EC finally got a rhythm down and made some good scoring drives. EC defence look ok, but offense and defence needs more work. Tarkington had some good size and went well to the football on defense. Tarkington offense also had size and showed some good signs with tall QB that made several passes most to a tall #11 WR that would go to the ball well. One long pass on 4th down for a Tarkington TD. I want to add that Tarkington played a very clean game with class. Good luck on your season. All and all it was a good scrimmage that showed both sides what they needed to work on. Hope to see EC improvement at Silsbee scrimmage. It was good to finally see some football.

I thought we would have more comments. Trying to get some football talk before scrimmage Aug 16. Trying to kill some time till the games start  ;D!!!!!!

It's good to have HF on the schedule again and I'm ready to talking about football. So let's hear it.

Ranking are peoples best guess by returning letter-men, team success year before, speed, strength, coaching and other factors. Many times teams go up or down in ranking because the first ranking was wrong or the injury bug bit a team. Like I said its a best guess and it gives us something to talk about before a game in actually played. I'm ready for some football !!!!!
