  1. Well it was a great game and a fun experience. I hope these guys can keep it going for years to come it has been great for my last two years.

Ksagrl1, as far as the umpires go.  It was agreed to last year to use Beaumont so that Coach Bourgeois' dad could come call the game.  What a cool experience for that father and son. Probably this year it was just continued. Not sure why Mr. Bourgeois didn't make the trip this time.  I am sure that Caoch Bourgois and his family (especially since his dad has been a long time member) know the umpires here quit well and didn't seem to complain during the game.  Those guys in that game are about the best we have in our chapter.  I think Coach Bourgeois probably knows this and that is more likely why he agreed.

  2. Hicks pitched Monday and Friday (3 days rest) got 2 wins, threw less pitches total than both pitchers in the LCM/Ned game and Statum who went 5 against HF.

Sorry to butt in, but you mentioned one of our guys.  The LCM pitcher in that game threw 81 pitches.  81 pitches in 10 innings is pretty good.  I know the Nederland pitcher seemed to throw alot, but I didn't hear an official count.

  3. OFF KOGT:Due to the cancellation of several tournaments last weekend due to rain, LCM baseball will host a tournament with Orangefield and Barbers Hill. The schedule: Thursday- LCM vs BH, 10am; BH vs OF, 1pm; LCM vs OF, 4pm. Friday- LCM vs OF, 10am. Saturday- OF vs BH, 10am; LCM vs BH, 1pm. The Bears will still host Central in district play Friday night.

Thanks to all these coaches. I am sure the seniors for all three teams really didn't want to miss 4 games.

  4. I would agree that the names mentioned above are all great coaches and would be great for LCM.  I would also agree that they would be difficult if not impossible to get. So, here is a name that would be a great fit.  Josh Rankin. Plenty of coordinating experience at several schools.  Played for Jeff Harrell’s defense some of the best in the history of the school. D coordinator for DW. Has ties to the community that might give him a better idea of what it would take at LCM specifically.  Just because a system works at one school doesn’t mean it would work anywhere. I would hope that Coach Rankin is at least on the final short list. I think he could be great for decades, and really provide some consistency for the athletic department.

  5. When the year began most people picked LCM 4th or 5th in district for many reasons.  The way I see it nothing has changed.  Nederland still has the best athletes.  PNG and Ozen still have the best pitching.  Vidor still has its best team in decades and Dayton still has 12 returners.  You people are trying to make way to big of a deal about the first couple of weeks of the season.  You do not see LCM people on this board boasting about their start because they know it is just that.  Our team last year started horrible then ripped off 21 in a row including undeafeted in district.  The only way to prove the critics wrong is to survive the always brutal 22-4A (20-4A).  The Bears players know they are still underdogs until they do it under the lights of 22-4A.

  6. Mistakes that I see:

HERE IS THE UPDATED VERSION... THERE COULD BE A COUPLE OF MISTAKES... BUT I THINK THIS IS RIGHT...

    Nederland

    Scenario 1

Nederland must win out (If they beat LCM and Lumberton they could still end up tied)

Scenario 2 (If Nederland loses ONLY to Dayton)

    Vidor must lose one more

    Port Neches-Groves

PN-G wins out and Nederland and LCM lose one game. (If PNG beats Vidor and looses their last two it is still possible for them to end up tied with Ned and LCM with 4 loses)(PNG's best chance is a 3-way tie and this is very possible.)

    LC-M

    Scenario 1

LC-M wins out (If LCM beats Nederland they can loose at least one of thier last two games and still win it outright. They could loose both of thier last two and end up tied) (If they loose to Nederland they must win their last to and get help from Lumberton)

    Lumberton

    Scenario 1

Lumberton loses to only PN-G - They will need to beat LC-M and have

    LC-M lose an additional game

*And they will need NED and PNG to lose one more...

    Vidor

    Scenario 1

Vidor wins out and Nederland loses one game...AND Lumberton loses two games.... this one is getting less likely

I know their are many other scenarios, but I have to go to church. My only point is that it is way to early to guess who will make it. And some type of tie is most likely. My guess is a 3-way tie with teams to be determined is most likely.

    Remaining Schedules

    Nederland

    LC-M

    Dayton

    Lumberton

    PN-G

    Vidor

    Central

    Dayton

    LC-M

    Nederland

    Lumberton

    Vidor

    Lumberton

    Ozen

    LCM

    Nederland

    Vidor

    PNG

    Ozen

    LCM

  7. Coop,

Why would you let one of your moderators talk such nonsense on this board. Talking trash on an entire community.

    Gostangs,

Please start signing your name. Maybe you should seek some therapy to deal with all of your anger toward the LCM community. I mean did they do some bad things to you when you were a child or something. If so there are better ways to vent than on a message board.
