That was an entertaining game last night.  Two well matched teams.  Hopefully, your weather is better on Tuesday.

The whistle was blown after the ball hit the back of the net. There was no "stopping" by the defenders.

It seems kind of hypocritical to get on here to talk about there being enough talk?  Here's a clue soccerfan, you will find no games here, just talk.  So, it's probably not the place to log on if you have had it with talk.   

And, besides my comments were addressed to Weasel -- who, at least, was willing to provide the info.

Weasel, thanks for posting the PNG information. 

First, let me say congrats to PNG for what seems to be a very solid season thus far. 

Second, I stand by my prediction that Brenham will prove to be far too tough for PNG in the playoffs.  After several years of mediocrity, the Cubbettes are quite strong this year. 

The "big" wins you have listed for PNG are fine, but none come against what anyone would say are elite type teams.  And, regardless of whether they have won their districts (which may not be accurate BTW), nobody I know considers North Lamar or Mount Pleasant to be really good. 

It may be that PNG has somehow become the real deal this year, and that teams like Brenham and Waco Midway will fall to them -- I don't list Friendswood in that group because it is actually impossible that PNG would be able to beat Friendswood.   ;D   But, given everything I know, I predict a playoff run that ends somehwere in the Houston area (Humble perhaps) in a game vs Brenham.

Where is the big PNG/Nederland showdown tonight?  I am thinking of driving over to watch the team that promises to end the Lady Mustangs' reign.  And, if I do I want all of my East umm.... Southeast Texas fans to swing by and say hello. 

The game will take place at the Nederland High School at 7 p.m. tonight.

Not to mention this was still in pre season.. if Mt. PLeasant and Lamar Paris were to face Pn-G again it would be a whole new ball game out there.

playoffs for us are the week after spring break!

Pn-G practices all of spring break so there wont be any difference.

The last time Pn-G played them it was 3-0

Duh, PNG wins.  LCM will play hard though and score a couple of goals.

True they will play hard, not so sure about the scoring a couple of goals part though. But we'll see what happens.. should be a good game.

lol you're not gonna give up are ya?  Don't have those results but I do know they beat Lindale who beat Brenham last year at the playoffs.  Good enough for ya? 

Not only did tey beat Lindale.. they dominated in possession.

Not that my opinion ever matters.  And surely not because I care if Friendswood or Brenham wins the state championship.  I do not see where it was wrong for the PNG faithful as well as the Nederland faithful to post about their hopes of a deep playoff run.  Its what parents and fans do with their teams.. hope and boast.  PNG can post a schedule and show it to FF and it will not change his view but give him reasons to pick and attack other squads.  He is loyal to his lady stangs as we are to our teams. You can look and figure and worry and think and compare add in weather conditions.. injuries.. travel time verses rest .. diet... and what do you get......... NOTHING BENEFICIAL.... I have coached soccer for 30 years now.    And the one thing I have learned is soccer is a CRAZY game.  This past season I lost two games in Louisiana to the worst high school teams I have seen even though we dominated possession.. funny thing is I get nothing for possession but only for that darn ball rolling into the goal.  But in the same breath,  I have beaten quality teams and sent some big time schools to the edge.  PnG and Friendswood and or Brenham and Nederland may meet one day.  And on that day.  Throw in all the variables,  from wind, sickness diet, freak of nature,  an own goal, or maybe just actually good play, no telling which team will end up on top.  Not always the best team that advances.  But if FF thinks he can look at a schedule and decide the future then we can save a bunch on travel expenses and just pencil in the brackets.  Your schedule so far means nothing to where the lady stangs are heading.  Losing to great teams is a plus,  IF your team isnt getting dominated to the point they are not getting any touches on the ball.  If they are getting touches on the ball and playing and knocking it around... then those games build quality teams.There I said my piece.... now time to be attacked and sad......

Hey, Bullet-head, what's wrong with being humble when you lose.  That's sure better than making excuses.  Try as I might, there is no place that lists the PNG results, and I note that no one is stepping up to tell me who they actually beat, who they tied, and to whom they lost.  That suggests that have beaten no one particularly good, and they have lost to some marginal teams.

Apologies on the whole East vs. Southeast Texas thing.  I guess that's a big deal for you.  Keep the hate/envy coming folks.  And, just promise me that at least some of you will have the ***** to get back on here and say I was right, and you were wrong, when PNG flames out against some real competition in the playoffs, and the Lady Mustangs collect their fourth staright regional title.  To borrow a famous phrase, FHS doesn't rebuild, they reload.  

Seriously, I think the FHS JV would have very little trouble beating any team from SOUTHeast Texas.  I bet they have more D1 club players than any SETX varsity.      

We can say the same for you, i dont see a list of losses ties and wins of FHS in my face right now now do i?

What i do know, thanks to your information, is FHS hardly beat texas city.. 3-0 IN A FULL GAME. right? Thats kind of... pitiful, dont you think? i mean for a "superstar team" and all.

PNG didn't get the chance to play them.

PNG has beaten some of the same teams as the Friendswood team that started 6-6-1.  it doesn't matter.  they did really well the last three years.  they actually get a 3 goal advantage in every game of the playoffs due to their success in the past.  i can't believe you guys aren't hip to this information.  FF likes to get on here and belittle our local programs, while tooting his horn about how great Friendswood is.  Then, like in footballl and volleyball, when they lose, he gets all humble.  we'll see if it's the same in soccer this season.

So your making it clear their losses were to "some quality 5a teams". Well i do believe Cedar hill is considered to be one of these quality 5a teams- which PNG managed to beat. But wait it gets better.. they beat them 3-0. I dont know how long it will take Friendswood people, such as yourself, to realize its not at all about if you're "three time regional champs"- because most likely alot of those girls that achieved this while playing for friendswood are long gone.

and PNG still has four more district games on the way.

as stated ..the FHS girls may be "down compared to recent years"- well, the Png girls ARE HIGHER compared to recent years. Just goes to show its not about what the schools name is, or the location. But rather it's about the PLAYERS, and the SKILL... SOO, looks like friendswood may be in for a schock this year.. because i know one thing's for sure. With a new season comes new and improved teams, players, skill, formation, etc.
