2. I think they mixed up some realignment numbers. Last time around, PN-G's enrollment was 1401 and Vidor's was 1415.
 3.
Wow! Impressive for  what was being called the greatest show on turf. GCM- 0 rounds. Not ashamed to say it. How  long you boys on the Reservation been playing football? If Indians make cricket sounds to signify the end of their football season, then YES, cricket sounds.
Greatest show on turf? The PN-G band doesn't play football. Well, not on Fridays at least. Say what you want about it. PN-G was the last 20-4A team standing. In fact, if I remember correctly, PN-G was the last Golden Triangle team standing.

Now Barbers Hill is on the verge of being 10-0 and PN-G may face them in the first round as the underdog. I'm picking the Indians... IF it happens. ;D
I was joking about doing this in another thread....you are one brave Man!
I want to see if we can catch up to the OU thread. ;D
You should have pulled this up about 16 pages ago!!!
The other thread probably won't matter. 58 of these 61 pages were written in the two weeks between BH's last regular season game in 2009 and the matchup at Stallworth. Although the thread name should be changed to "Barbers Hill Eagles vs. Port Neches-Groves Indians: Act [s]II[/s] V".

I'm Picking Ozen to beat BH.
Yeah right that would be like PNG beating BH in football this year ;D
In other words, it's going to happen. ;D
 11.
:( I planned to make it down there tonight, but unfortunately my grandmother lost her fight with breast cancer late last night...  I will still be tuning in to catch the show, and will hopefully make it down there next week. Can't wait to hear some football talk, maybe it will clear my mind... Now for my questions...  Which teams seem to have the most momentum heading in to the playoffs?  Also, how do you see 19-4A & 20-4A finishing?  Who's in & who's out?
Sorry for your loss. Best wishes to you and your family.
 12. Man, if refs read messageboards, Livingston would be starting the game with -150 yards. ;D

PNG struggled against Vidor who is a good football team but Vidor doesnt have the defense BH has.PNG is going to have to score more than 2 Tds to win and only Dayton has done that this year,as a matter of fact no team has even scored 2 Td's against them this year except Dayton.BH will score at least 3 Tds and controll the tempo of the game.Good luck to all.   Barbers Hill 24 PNG 10
I agree that a PN-G/BH game would be a tough one and that BH is obviously favored because of their record (although I would personally still pick PN-G), but PN-G didn't "struggle" with Vidor. We were up 22-0 at the end of the third quarter. Vidor changed offensive schemes and we took too long to adjust. Now, had Vidor been mixing things up all along, I'd agree that that game would have been a struggle. Vidor's last minute almost-comeback proves that they had the potential. They just stuck with a hard-nosed running offense for three quarters that we had figured out and shut down (with help from some penalties).
To be honest Vidor didn't change offensive schemes. The only we did was get momentum and brought a new qb in and a new fullback in. And we also ran a few plays that we hadn't run yet. That's it. Not taking anything away from PNG. And as for shutting down our offense if you really did shut it down why did Vidor have more yards and first downs than yall?  ::)  8)
Per PhatMack's stats, Vidor had 109 passing yards in the game. Vidor didn't put a single WR into the game until the fourth quarter, which came with a back-up QB, a good arm and a total shift in play-calling. Every one of those 109 yards was put up with six completions in the fourth quarter. So yes, you did have a shift in momentum, but it came as a result of a major shift on offense and a PN-G defense that was uncharacteristically slow to adjust. And yes, we had you shut down until the fourth quarter. Vidor trailed PN-G in nearly every respect going into the last quarter of the game. We took our foot off the gas and Vidor put the pedal to the metal to almost make a comeback and post some impressive stats. I'll say it again: if Vidor had been mixing things up to begin with, the outcome of this game may have been very different. Personally, I think it would be a good idea for Vidor to put in the back-up QB more often and throw the ball around a little more against Livingston and in the playoffs, but that's just me and I'm not a coach.
 20. I had originally picked Livingston to win this one, but I'm going with Vidor in a close one now that Mays is out. I hope Matthews gives that back-up QB more chances to throw the ball.
 21. I thought we would play Dayton in the first round if Vidor beats Livingston and we beat Central this week. ???

Come on Bamakid. When i was living in the FWD area I talked to a lot of people about football and when i could i mentioned high school football and more people mentioned the likes of Dayton and Vidor then they did PNG. Just stating my opinion.  8)
Bud, I've been in New York City, Washington, DC, Alabama, and Florida while wearing PN-G attire and have had it recognized, to say nothing of how many times it's been recognized all over Texas and Louisiana. When we were at the Alamodome, we brought so many fans that we had businesses advocating dying the river purple and having a pep rally. I've had people ask me where I'm from and they almost automatically start talking about Cherokee, the band or the football team in all parts of Texas. I've walked into UIL meets and heard sponsors - not kids - say something to the tune of "Oh, sh*t, PN-G's here. We know who's going to win now." Sorry, but Vidor and Dayton just don't have that.
Well maybe you mention it or maybe the people you ran into were different than the people i ran into but i can tell you that because of the navy i have been to chicago, new york, cali, nevada, virginia, florida, mississippi, and washington dc as well and the people i talked to about high school football never said one thing about PNG or the color purple or indians.  Yes you set the record at the Alamodome and that is amazing man but PNG is not the poster school for Texas High School Football like yall are making it sound.
You're right. It's not the poster school. To most, the poster school is Odessa-Permian... despite PN-G bringing more fans to and beating them in the 1975 state championship. Nonetheless, PN-G still on the forefront of Texas high schools. If you don't believe me, take a trip to Austin and tour the Bob Bullock museum.
